The Anfield Box - Spring 2017 - May 2017 - all items in the Melwood themed box

The Anfield Box' fourth delivery was themed around Liverpool FC's Melwood Training Facility.

The Anfield Box - Spring 2017 - May 2017 - information card

The Anfield Box - Spring 2017 - May 2017 - item details along with Melwood historical information

It comes with an information card that gives details around the bigger ticket items in the box, plus gives some historical information on the soon-to-be left Melwood Training Grounds.

The Anfield Box - Spring 2017 - May 2017 - Liverpool FC Melwood Training Facility shirt

Exclusive Melwood Shirt - Value $20-25 based on shirts in their store

This month's exclusive shirt is a callout to the club's training facility since the 1950s - Melwood.

Overall, like all of the shirts from The Anfield Shop, it's soft and fits perfectly (I have a lot of fit issues when buying directly from the UK) - and the design is based on the Melwood sign itself:

My first reaction was just a bit of pure joy - I love this callout to a piece of Liverpool FC history.

The Anfield Box - Spring 2017 - May 2017 - Liverpool FC Tervis Tumbler front

Exclusive Liverpool FC Tervis Tumbler - Value $15-20 based on similar product

The second item is also made just for this box - it's a Liverpool FC Tervis Tumbler.

The Anfield Box - Spring 2017 - May 2017 - Liverpool FC Tervis Tumbler details

Tervis Tumblers are great for keeping drinks both hot and cold - all while keeping your hands free from the temperature. While they do offer a Liverpool FC tumbler in the store, this one is a different, more basic, design.

The Anfield Box - Spring 2017 - May 2017 - Liverpool FC Italian Leather Key Fob in packaging

Liverpool FC Italian Leather Key Fob - Value $16

You'll get an Italian leather key fob featuring the club's marquee slogan/song "You'll Never Walk Alone".

I love this little key fob - I popped it right onto my keyring!

The Anfield Box - Spring 2017 - May 2017 - Liverpool FC New Balance soccer ball inflated

New Balance Soccer Ball - Value $15

The final bigger item in the box is a soccer ball from New Balance. New Balance is currently the official partner with Liverpool - so all of their kits are New Balance - and boy, are next year's kits AMAZING. I just received mine - it's a must for any and all fans.

Back to this soccer ball!

It arrives deflated for shipping, so you'll need to inflate it to get going. It's a mini soccer ball - size 5.

It features the Liverpool FC liver bird logo front and center.

The Anfield Box - Spring 2017 - May 2017 - New Balance Liverpool FC sticker

They also tossed in a New Balance sticker.

The Anfield Box - Spring 2017 - May 2017 - Liverpool FC notebook

Liverpool FC Notebook - Value $5?

You'll get a notebook - nothing too flashy here.

The Anfield Box - Spring 2017 - May 2017 - Liverpool FC notebook inside

It's basic. At 8.5 x 5.5 inches - it might be good to keep in the car with a pen, just in case.

The Anfield Box - Spring 2017 - May 2017 - Liverpool FC pin in packaging

Liverpool FC Pin - Value $5?

The last item in the Spring box is an enamel pin. It features a training ground free kick scene - which is perfect for a Melwood box.

As we reach the end of the review, let's just all watch a video of the person I'd most like to hang out with, our coach, Jurgen Klopp. Just for fun.

Verdict: The Spring box comes to around an $87 value - that's a really tight value for an $80 box - if there is one item you don't like, it could make the box a miss for you. Overall, I really liked the hero items in this box, especially the shirt, tumbler and key fob. While I don't really have much of a use for the mini soccer ball, I do have it on display at my desk, so it works for me. I'm hoping they can get a bigger ticket item for future boxes - even if that's past kits or some type of memorabilia - it's a really pricey subscription and, while I haven't been disappointed yet, I also haven't been blown away by everything in the box - there's still room for growth.

Until next time, I'll just be happy about finishing in a Champion's League spot!

Ok, so I signed up with this subscription box. I received this Spring box. That Melwood shirt is incredibly comfortable and my daughter is using the Size 5 ball for practices with her U16 team.

Anyway, I just was wondering when the next shipment would be since it’s been about a quarter since I received this box. I went over to their website and I see the next box is shipping (tentatively) in November. This seems much more than a quarter. Is there any reason you are aware of that they are not running a quarterly box in the summer?

Would love to get it, but the price is really high. Maybe if they put an official kit shirt in it. Or brought down the price. As it is, it’s not an option right now for me. 🙁

Let me just say that next year’s 125 year kit is just awesome. Even better looking in person – the red is a deeper red than recent years and it’s a nice throwback.
