Wantable Style Edit has been a major player in the subscription styling service market for over a year now, and they just started offering plus sizes at the end of July. I was thrilled to get the chance to try them out! Wantable Style Edit is one of several different subscription boxes offered by Wantable, including Wantable Intimates, Accessories, Fitness, and Makeup.

This box was sent to us at no cost to review (Check out our review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

The Subscription Box: Wantable Style Edit

The Cost: $20 styling fee per month, plus the cost of whatever you decide to keep. The styling fee is deducted from your purchase. You save 20% off everything if you keep the entire shipment!

The Products: 5-7 apparel items handpicked to meet your price, style, and size preferences

Ships to: U.S. only for free (both directions!)

When I signed up for this service, I took a pretty lengthy quiz in which I indicated my price, size and style preferences. It looks like they have done away with listing your preferences on this sheet, but there is an area where they print any notes you have sent to your stylist for this shipment. The only thing printed here is my pinterest style board, which is what I sometimes send if I am in a hurry and don't have time to write. In any case, I would expect what I receive to be reflective of my tastes, and for these boxes to vary quite a bit from subscriber to subscriber. There is also a note from my stylist, Lindsay. It explains why she chose the items she picked for me.

This is the invoice of the items they sent me this month. On the right it shows my cost to keep each item. The total comes to $460. If I keep everything, I get 20% off, plus I get my $20 styling fee deducted. That means a potential discount of $112. That's a deep discount!

Flutter Sleeve Blouse by Melissa McCarthy for Seven7 - Cost to Keep $89

What a pretty and unusual blouse! I think you can count on items that are stylish and interesting when it comes to Melissa McCarthy. The print is a little bold for my tastes, but the outfit is definitely flattering. Maybe pile?

Crepe Pant by Lysse - Cost to Keep $88 (on sale from $118!)

I love when Wantable sends me items that are on sale! I have a couple of pairs of pants from Lysse, and they are SUPER supportive. These have more of a trouser cut, so they are a little less so, but still get the job done. These would be great for work!

V-Neck Printed Dress by Hayden LA - Cost to Keep $56

I love almost everything from Hayden LA, and this dress is no different. I love the colors and print! I am wondering, though, if this dress might not be more suitable for fall? It's a pretty heavyweight material, and I don't see myself wearing it in the spring and summer, to be honest.

AC/DC Shirttail Tee by Chaser - Cost to Keep $59

Well, obviously I love AC/DC! This is a very soft and lightweight cotton tee. I really like it, but I don't know if I have (or can) ever spent $59 for a tee! I'm also not sure it looks that good on me.

Mia Skinny Repose with Dark Stone Base Jeans by Kut from the Kloth - Cost to Keep $89

I am not in love with these jeans. I think they look fine, but they're not particularly comfortable, flattering, or stylish. I usually do love jeans from Kut, but these are just kind of okay.

Round Neck Cardigan by Cielo - Cost to Keep $20

This cardigan is a nylon/viscose blend. I don't think it was necessarily meant to be worn over the AC/DC shirt, but it gives you the best idea of what the cardigan looks like on. It's very inexpensive, which I like, but it seems a bit small. I am loving white for spring, but I also don't think I will need a cardigan again until fall. I'm torn on this one!

Dip Dye Printed Top by DEX - Cost to Keep $59

This blouse is super cute! It's a soft cotton, and I don't think I have anything like it! I also think it looks pretty good on me.

Verdict: I am really loving my Wantable Style Edit! I am so happy they sent seven items again this month! As usual, there was a mix of hits and misses, but wow, it seems like I have a lot of maybes in this box. I need your help to decide! Vote away!

What do you think of Wantable Style Edit? What did you receive in your box this month?

I just got my first style box from Wantable. They sent me 7 items, 3 pairs of pants & 4 tops. I asked for shorter length pants and 2 of the pants were the perfect length for me. Even thought those 2 pairs of pants are the only things I kept I am very happy with the style box.

I’m having trouble voting. The dress, Melissa McCarthy top & Dip dye tops get my votes.

Anna OMGoodness that dress is soooo you and you look wonderful in it! I hope you keep it for the cooler months. And that Melissa McCarthy blouse looks simply divine on you! I think it would look better with skinnies or leggings. I always try to balance volume, like big top on top, then straighter styles of pants and vice versa.

And I just want to give you the biggest hug for modeling all these clothes for us! I believe the average size of an US woman is now a size 18, but we still seem to have a really hard time finding cute, trendy, flattering clothes! You are paving the way for the rest of us! Xo

The Dip Dye top is cute! And I like that it’s cotton. I love the red dress on you, but the floppy sleeves would drive me crazy. i love voting on these polls.

According to the numbers I’m going against the grain. There’s something about that Melissa McCarthy top that I live on you.

The same with that dress (which I think still works for summer especially when considering air conditioned locations and cooler evenings). Truthfully the pattern isn’t my favorite but when I look at things on some one else I don’t consider my taste I say – does this flatter them? And I don’t know if it’s the cut or the coloring or both but I really lime that dress on you.

I also like the T-shirt. Now, I am going agree that you shouldn’t get it if it doesn’t fit you right but I wanted to note that not all t-shirts are equal. Depending on the material and cut a higher price could be justified. Also with the appliqués (patches?) that elevates it beyond a basic tee. Whether or not it’s worth $59 is another thing. Would I spend $59 on a tee. It depends in the subject matter of the shirt, the quality and how it would fit me.

I love the Melissa McCarthy blouse on you. It would look great with leggings. So so on the rest of the items.

You look amazing in the check printed dress!

The cardigan and AC/DC top are too small. Everything else looks good but honestly I think you can do a lot better.

Kathryn

I love reading your reviews, Anna. I’m a similar figure type to you, so I get ideas on what I might like to look for when I go shopping!

So disappointing that none of the style edit type boxes will ship to Australia! I’d love more than half the garments in this box!

BTW – I think you should keep the two blouses, the pants and the dress. The t-shirt is too expensive and the jeans are a bit “meh” – and if they are not comfortable, they are definitely not worth it!

Thank you so much Kathryn! That makes my day!
