The theme for May 2017 is Neko Purrrfect!
The box came with a little magazine listing all the items included. There is 5 items total.
The booklet also listed out some unique Japanese Animal Cafes. I've heard of cat cafes but these other cafes were new to me!
This month included a bonus item!
The Ahalo Butter Shampoo and Hair Mask sample had the cutest designs! Both samples feature collagen and buttermilk. They each had a really fresh scent and the hair mask was really moisturizing.
They also included a 20% off coupon for the Ahalo Butter site!
Animal Style Tumbler
This was one of the items that was spoiled for us and I was excited to get it! I've been trying to drink more water lately and a cute bottle will help! This tumbler features a bunch of cats and food! The design is really adorable and the booklet suggests hand washing this to preserve the print.
Here's another look at some of the drawings. The bright pink lid secures tightly to the bottle and I had no spillage when I tossed this in my bag! The booklet also mentions that this can hold liquid that is up to 100° Celsius (212° Fahrenheit!). I've been using this just for water so far but this would make a cute coffee tumbler!
The bottle also has a little removable strainer/splash guard that sits at the top of the bottle.
Silvia & Silvester Mascot Keychain
This mascot had six possible variations and I received the black one. These round cats are made by Shinada who manufactures a lot of the plushes featured in YumeTwins boxes but this mini plush is more sturdy than squishy. That allows it to sit up on its own or you can attach it as a keychain using the ball chain.
Here's a closeup of his little face!
Yo-kai Watch DX Explorer Komasan Plush
One of the first YumeTwins boxes I received featured a Komasan pouch so it was nice to see him again! I'm not a huge Yo-kai expert but I am familiar with Komasan and I really like his explorer outfit. I know he loves ice cream so we have that in common. This is nicely weighted so he can sit up without any issues. The detail on this plush is great! I love his extended blue eyebrows!
Tsum Tsum Coin Purse
I always appreciate a Tsum Tsum item and this month's is a little coin purse. The outside of this is a shiny, hard plastic. It comes with a ball chain attached to you can easily latch this onto your purse or keys.
Here's a look at the other side which features a decent amount of Winnie the Pooh characters, as well as some other Disney classics!
The inside of this is also a stiffer plastic and is easily cleanable. It's a great size for loose change and could also fit a small chapstick or other small cosmetic item. The clasp is really tight and secure.
AMUSE Tsuchineko Plush Pouch
Ahhhhhh! I could not handle how cute this plush was when I opened the box. There were fifteen variations for this item! I imagine they're all adorable.
My cat looks extremely pleased with himself and is balancing a piece of fruit on his head. As with all the big plushes from YumeTwins, this is incredibly soft and squishy.
Here's the view from the side of the plush. The booklet mentions that these were inspired by tsuchinoko - a snake-like being from Japanese folklore. Tsuchinoko is supposed to look similar to a snake but with a very plump body - bigger than the head or tail. The Tsuchineko cat looks similar to a tsuchinoko because their paws are hidden under their bodies - giving them a tsuchinoko shape.
One of my favorite parts of this plush is the hidden pouch! The tail works as a zipper pull and allows you to open the bottom. This could fit a couple small items. I haven't decided how to use mine yet! This could be the world's cutest travel makeup bag! There's also a part of me that wants to put a tiny bit of catnip in it and hand it off to my cat. We'll see where my tsuchineko ends up!
Verdict: I always enjoy getting my YumeTwins package! The Neko Purrrfect theme was really cute and carried well through the items. I always like getting items I can use in my everyday life and the water bottle was that item for me. I'll definitely get a ton of use out of that. Three plushes can be a lot for a five-item box but I really loved the tsuchineko plush and the fact that it doubles as a pouch is amazing! The detail of the Komasan plush is great! The value of the box is always there for me because they're all officially licensed, well-made items.
