BoxyCharm is a full-size beauty and makeup subscription box. They always provide a great value compared the cost of the box.

This box was sent to us for review purposes. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

The Subscription Box: BoxyCharm

The Cost: $21 a month

The Products: 5-6 beauty items that will include nail care, skin care, makeup, haircare, fragrance and more. (At least 4 of those items will be full-sized).

Ships to: US and Canada

Check out all of my BoxyCharm reviews and the Beauty Subscription Box Directory!

Each box comes with a card detailing the items included.

Now, time for the items!

Ofra Liquid Lipstick in Santa Ana – Value $19.90

(Subscribers will either receive this shade or Tuscany.)

I've sampled the OFRA Cosmetics Liquid Lipstick before, and the formula is great. The finish is matte but non-drying, the pigment is fantastic, and it lasts for a while, too.

This color is a berry pink - surprisingly wearable for me! (Swatched in lower photo.)

This lip color also came with a coupon code for 30% off any OFRA Cosmetics purchase.

Real Her Play Book Eyeshadow Palette – Value $28

(Subscribers will receive version I, II, or III)

This set includes 8 shimmers (in the brown and beige family) and an intense black matte.

The pigment is pretty good across all the shades. (The lighter shades took a few more swipes to get them to show up for me, though.)

And I'm used to seeing makeup with borderline vulgar shade names, so it is a nice change to see that these eyeshadows are named things like "fabulous," "strong," and "creative."

(Swatched in lower photo.)

Artist Couture Diamond Glow Powder in Illuminati – Value $27

This loose powder is the most intensely pigmented and shimmery highlighter I've ever sampled! I can see why makeup addicts are obsessed with this brand!

The highlighter has a yellow-gold tint, and you can use it very sparingly to get a standard highlight. (So this jar should last me forever!)

Here it is swatched beneath the liquid lip and the eyeshadow palette:

Luxie Rose Gold Pro Precision Tapered Face Brush 640 – Value $24

(Subscribers will either receive this brush or the  Aesthetica Pro Brush Series: Tapered Highlight and Blending Makeup Brush #H22.)

This brush features super soft bristles and the signature Luxie pink handle with a rose gold metal accent. The brush is designed to be used to remove excess powder, or to apply or even out highlighter.

Biobelle Facial Masks – Value $15 total

BioBelle Beauty Secret Mask

These masks are all free of parabens and phthalates! The Beauty Secret mask was gentle on my skin, too. It takes 15 minutes, and left my skin feeling super hydrated!

BioBelle 5 Minute Facial Mask

I'm used to doing my sheet masks as part of my nightime beauty routine, but this is a nice change! It's a 5-minute mask you wear before you do your makeup. (Then rinse off any excess product.)

This was a nice way to give my skin some extra moisture before applying makeup, and it seemed to be on par with my regular primer, too.

BioBelle I Woke Up Like This

This was the mask that just wasn't for me - the rose scent was a little too much to leave on my face for 15 minutes. (If you love rose-scented products, though, I think you'll love this!

Verdict: This box has a value of about $114! As always, the value for Boxycharm is amazing! I think Boxycharm is a perfect subscription for people who love makeup. You're going to get a lot of palettes, highlighters, etc., so it's great if you want to build your collection and try all the things! (If you only need one highlighter/palette in your makeup arsenal, this might not be the best box for yo.)

Pretty much everything in this box was a win for me, too. And I got to try out a primer mask!

with BoxyCharm, do you get to fill out a preference survey like you do on Ipsy?

I really wish I didn’t cancel my subscription in may ); I was dying for the artist couture highlighter );

I was disappointed in getting #2 Palette. I was really hoping for #1, but..I am using it anyway. I don’t love it but I don’t hate it either. My Palette #2 has absolutely no color, it’s all browns & golds. But like one reviewer said…I can’t always get what I want. So I smile because it is after all my choice to keep getting BoxyCharm and I wouldn’t give it up for anything. It is and always will be my #1 Sub Box. I am happy with everything else I rec’d…well mostly. I don’t like sheet masks, ever! Too messy and they don’t fit my face right. I just throw them in a drawer and let them pile up. I plan on giving them out to my daughter at Xmas time along with anything else I don’t particularly like. Kind of like a big Beauty Basket full of goodies. She loves makeup & skin care things too, but can’t afford much of anything. She’s good to her mamma, so I try to give back.

Does anyone get the idea that those #1, #2, & #3 Palettes were meant to be used together like a set and if you get only one it’s incomplete? Wouldn’t it have made more sense to have combined the three in one big Palette? Just a thought…..

I just received my boxycharm today – talk about a long wait!!

Love love love it! I’ve been a sub for a year now…I have several eye pallets and several Luxie brushes, and several highlighters, lots of lippies in all kinds of colours. Coz that’s what boxycharm does – and I wouldn’t change a thing. It’s awesome!

I am super happy about the eye shadow palette! I received the exact box as Liz.
Like most everyone, I’m zzzzz tired of the highlighters, wasn’t it Boxy last month that quizzed us on the site …. or maybe I just did a write-in vote that I was tired of highlighters, I can’t remember.

Does anyone have a big eye shadow palette from Ofra, and do you like it/recommend it? I’ve been thinking about spending that 30% coupon and getting one. Kind of pricey, but I’ve been lusting over one ever since I missed out on that Ipsy deal and now I’ll have to spend 3 figures to get one, probably.

Not the question you asked but i wanted to let you know if you search ofra on YouTube and click on a new video a lot of the “beauty gurus” have 30% off coupons in their description boxes valid all the time. Just so you know 😊

I was really hoping to get palette 1 or 2 (because I’m not a big fan of purple shadows on me) and low and behold I got palette 3…well I’m thankful to get Tuscany because it’s a great shade on me. In my opinion. by biggest problem of the box this month… another highlight? Like in May, we got the temptu liquid glow and in April we got Ofra Rodeo Drive. The Artist Couture powder highlight works great but I don’t need this much highlighter! I already have bought highlighters prior to subscribing to Boxycharm so now I’m drowning in highlighters. I’m debating whether or not that’s an good thing or not

I was happy to get the eye palette III, which had a pretty purpley shade I Wanted to try. Turns out that was the worst shade of the palette but some nice mattes were included. I actually was happy with the Tuscany lip shade, and glad I got a different sheet mask than this rose one Liz got. The only disappointment was getting the non-Luxie brand brush. All in all, a great bargain. The powder is pretty, but I don’t have enough cheeks to put all my highlighters on!

Lol that’s how I feel! The highlighters we’ve received have all been gorgeous, but I’ve got enough to glow for the rest of my life!!!

This month was my first Boxycharm box and I received the exact box. Very excited to use the items, especially the highlighter!!! I’m not ashamed to admit that MySubscriptionAddiction led me to subscribe to Boxycharm and 2 other boxes (lol, I’m in the pre-addict phase).

I love the review, so thorough and the swatches all look beautiful! Boxycharm is amazing I’m still so amazed this is even a service. Between boxy and ipsy (and beauty fix) I never need to purchase beauty products again not that that stops me lol!

I canceled Boxycharm last year after a few disappointing boxes. I re-subscribed last month hoping to get May’s box, but I just missed it. However, I’m definitely not disappointed with June. I love the highlighter and the pallets all seem like they’d work for regular use!

I’m really happy with this months Boxy. I had cancelled in January, re-subbed in April to get the Ofra highlighter. May’s box was a dud for me. This box makes up for last month! I will use every item in this one! Love Ofra lippies and both colors are great!

I am hoping for “I feel beautiful” palette, but I won’t be too disappointed with either of the other 2 options.

I like the masks and the brush but nothing else, however, the items I do like cover the cost of the box so I still come out ahead. The rest will go up for swap.
I keep saying I’m going to cancel this box but when it comes down to actually doing it I just can’t.

I Love this box. Boxycharm never disappoints me. ✅😍😘 I have cancelled over 4 other Beauty box subs but not @Boxycharm. Hope all the ladies will enjoy!

Totally agree with you love , I Love love love Boxy Charm the price for the *FullSized* products we receive every month is way over what we pay which is amazing . I don’t always use everything in the boxes but Every makeup product isn’t for everyone we all have to understand that , that we all have different skin and everything looks different on all of us beautiful people ! With that being said it’s so freaking annoying how much everyone complains about highlighters and everything else it’s a makeup box subscription for goodness sake , you hate boxy so much unsubscribe ! I also have Ipsy I don’t always get things I like but that’s the gamble with sub boxes we can’t choose what we want all the time. I personally love Boxy and all the full size makeup we get . Don’t want something send it to me lol ! 🙂

AMEN SISTER…. I personally thought this June was the absolute BEST boxy I’ve gotten or seen for that matter…. I have all 3 of the REAL HER pallets now I had I & III I was praying for II and i got it which NEVER happens…. I LOVE BOXY (glossy, ipsy, birch, sugarbash, and FFF…lol)

Ashby

BioBelle masks are super awesome!!! So glad there’s THREE in the box. So excited to get this month!

Hmm… A bit mixed feeling cuz of the made in……
Still debating on cosmetics, but facial masks? Hmm…

Christine

Biobelle is actually well reviewed on Ulta.

I’m okay with sheet masks made abroad so long as they are not fake. Like I bought these two sheet mask packs from an Amazon seller and they are suppose to be from the same brand and just different “flavors” so to speak, but the shape of the face mask is different for each which makes me suspect they are fake. :/

So happy I re-subbed! This box has such an amazing value for what you pay! I pay $59 for a 3 month sub and get so much more than that for the money!

Christine

I am really looking forward to receiving and trying out every single item in this month’s box, which is rare.

Liz Cadman

It’s such a good box! Glad you are excited about it, too! 🙂

All three versions of the eyeshadow palette look promisingl! Also, at first I thought the lip colors were poor choices for me, but the great thing about sub boxes is trying new things you wouldn’t normally buy. Excited to try everything this month!
