subscription boxes comparison: boxycharm, glossybox, and beautyfix

Dermstore BeautyFIX

This Boxycharm vs GlossyBox vs BeautyFix series compares my subscription every month to give you a good idea what you can expect from these popular beauty subscription boxes. (Boxycharm and GlossyBox are both $21 a month, and BeautyFix is $24.95 a month, so they seemed close enough in cost to compare!)

Check out my Birchbox vs Ipsy vs Sephora Play post series too!

Important to know: With Glossybox and Boxycharm, there are certain items that all subscribers will receive, but the remainder of items in the box will vary. With BeautyFix, all items are the same for all subscribers. (With the exception of perhaps different colors of a beauty item.)

Verdict: This is a tough call to make - I thought all boxes were great this month! I'm going to give the victory to BeautyFix this month since they included the Dermaroller - something I haven't seen in subscription boxes before.

What was your favorite box for June? And what was your favorite product?

Here are my general suggestions for which box to pick:

Boxycharm: If you are looking for full-size makeup, this is the box to go for. They consistently send out makeup in addition to haircare and skincare products. (You will quickly build up an impressive eyeshadow collection with this subscription box!)

GlossyBox: This is the best box if you're looking for trying out brands that you typically don't see in the US. You'll get a mix of US and EU brands. The one downside is that values of these boxes can vary depending on which variation you get, so make sure you're happy with the main spoiler items that everyone gets if you're thinking about signing up.

BeautyFix: This is my go-to box for sampling a lot of high-end skincare products. They usually round out the boxes with a few makeup and haircare products, too. You'll get a mix of full-size and sample-size products.

I get BF and GB. BF definitely my fav this month. The dermalogica lip product is great! I need more!! Skincare is what I want in a sub so I try to stay away from boxes that are heavy on makeup. BF always gives a nice variety of high end skincare and some hair products too.

I absolutely love my Beautyfix box. I’ve had my subscription for 6 months now and love trying the high end products that I probably wouldn’t normally splurge for. There’s always 2-3 full size items in the box making it well worth the money.

I enjoyed all 3 boxes this month and was very excited to try out the micro needle roller, but my all time favorite lately has been Benevolent Beauty Box, I love that everything in the box is all natural, cruelty free and/or vegan. (I know it wasn’t included in the comparison but I had to throw that out there)

Not thrilled with Boxy this month because it took 16 days to get to me and then came missing the Ofra lipstick,

I didn’t get the luna eyeshadow in my very 1st ipsy bag, i informed them and they sent one out right away, def. Isn’t a shade (jace) I’d use on my eyes but I tried it as a blush and the coral-ish color is definitely a perfect shade for my pale complexion. Definitely will not need a lot of product for lighter skin tones. I need to be invited to the swap thing cause ill never use that lip gloss.

That face slashed that was in the Beautyfix box scares me. Like poking needle holes all over your face.

I got both Beauty Fix and Glossy Box first time this month. I really like items I have tried in Beauty Fix. Not sure about the other. Just received Friday and don’t like my variations.

These were my three favorite subs this month. Boxycharm and Glossybox both sent the perfect variation for me (different items than MSA reviewed), and I always enjoy BeautyFix (ready for July spoilers!).

It’s boxycharm for me this month 😘 Love the eye palette and everything else in the box that I will definitely use. I gave up
glossybox but still patronize their limited editions from time to time. beautyfix is a must for skin and haircare while boxycharm is a must for make up. Thank you for your great review Liz.
