Dollar Shave Club sent a welcome handbook explaining how the program works and the type of add-on products I can place for future shipments.
They also reiterate that I’m never locked into a plan and can cancel at any time. This note also mentions that they have a 100% satisfaction guarantee so if I’m unhappy with any products, they’ll gladly refund.
The welcome booklet, like their website, has little jokes throughout and they are pretty funny. (I wish this one were true!)
They also include a monthly newsletter called, “The Bathroom Minutes” for some quality bathroom reading material. This month featured little notes on how to treat sunburn and some fun facts on everything to know about footlong hotdogs.
Let's take a look at what’s in my first shipment!
The Executive Razor – $9 for 4 blades
This 6-blade razor sure did a nice job on its first shave. The stainless steel blades are quite sharp and paired with the Easy Shave Butter, and I didn’t cut myself once!
The Executive Handle, which is included for free in your first shipment, has a great weight to it and feels extremely well made and substantial. Anytime you switch to a different level of blades, a free handle is always included.
Dr. Carver’s Easy Shave Butter – Cost to add: $8.00
This was my first time using this shave butter and I really liked it! It’s non-foaming, smells clean, and felt great on my skin during and after my shave. It’s also paraben and sulfate free for those with sensitive skin like myself.
Dr. Carver’s Magnanimous Post Shave Cream – Cost to add: $9
I used this cream after shaving my neck in the morning and my skin still felt soft and moisturized at the end of the day! The herbal smell is subtle, but quite nice and doesn’t compete with my cologne, which I appreciate.
Verdict: I really enjoyed my first experience with Dollar Shave Club! From the quirky humor on their site to the low priced razors and free shipping, I’m quite pleased. I look forward to trying out some of their other products like body wash and hair care in future shipments!
Do you know anyone that uses Dollar Shave Club? I’d love to hear more about the other products and what others are saying about them.
