Promotional Keychain and Rubber Bracelet – Value $1?
I never mind if a box sends you a few small items with its logo on them, as long as they don’t make up a big chunk of the box’s value. I love keychains like this for walking Nyx (I once dropped my keys while walking my last dog and had to retrace my steps to find them…).
The Curse! Pre-workout Supplement in Lemon Rush Flavor (1 serving) – Value $2.38 (buy a 3-pack of assorted flavors for $7.13)
This has more caffeine per serving than a cup of coffee but is far from the highest caffeine pre-workout supplement I’ve seen. I mixed this up to sample the flavor and it was not bad (it is sweetened with sucralose and acesulfame K) and it dissolved pretty well. I don’t generally use caffeinated pre-workout products because I exercise at night, but I do appreciate the exposure to a new brand.
The Ripper Fat Burner in Pink Mango Slice Flavor (1 serving) – Value $1.19 (buy a package of 6 servings for $7.13)
This actually has more caffeine than The Curse product. It is a fat burner product that is supposed to help control food cravings (I guess that is why it has all the popular ingredients like green coffee extract and raspberry ketones). I personally find that counting calories and eating a high carb, low fat diet works better for weight maintenance purposes for me (that’s how I lost 45 pounds last year) but I know my strategy is not for everyone. This has a decent fruity flavor and blends into water well (I suggest starting at half strength like I did because a lot of products like this are super intense, flavor-wise).
The Curse! Promotional Sticker
You also get a promotional sticker for this brand. I’m not a big sticker user these days but it is basically (almost) free advertising for the brand.
GAT Supertein Multi-Protein and Amino Super Shake in Rich Vanilla (1.6 oz) – Value $0.97 (buy a package of 51 servings for $49.30)
I am a regular consumer of protein powders. I put this in my morning smoothie (I only use a few tablespoons at a time so this was good for a few days). It was sweeter than what I’d been using previously (that’s a good thing). This is a dairy-based protein, which is my favorite kind, plus it is low in sugar. Also, this is a new brand for me.
Cellucor Super HD Peach Mango High-Def Metabolic Powder (1 serving) – Value $1 (buy a package of 30 servings for $29.99)
This is another appetite control/fat burner type of product. It has a few B vitamins, as well. You can also buy this in pill form. The label says “contains fish” so I was unable to try this one. (You can’t specify any dietary restrictions for this subscription.)
OhYeah! One Bar in Cinnamon Roll (2.12 oz) – Value $2.33 (buy a box of 12 bars for $27.99)
My husband and I regularly consume protein bars and this brand was new to us. We split it and we both enjoyed the flavor and texture, including the outer coating. We would totally buy these again, and may add them into our rotation of protein bar purchases for the sake of variety. They are very low in sugar and quite a few flavors are available.
Health Warrior Peanut Butter Cacao Superfood Protein Bar (1.76 oz) – Value $2 (buy a box of 12 for $23.99)
These have (dry) chia in them so they are sort of gritty. However, they are vegan and free of sugar alcohols, if either of those is important to you. It is a little difficult to detect the flavor over the grittiness of the chia, but if you are interested in obtaining some healthful plant fats and fiber along with your protein, this may be a good choice for you.
#girlswholift Shirt – Value $20?
The tag on this was from a clothing wholesaler so I’ve estimated the price based on similar items. (This was a little too big for my photography background!) This fits pretty well; I’m definitely glad this subscription allows you to choose XS shirts (for women, you can go from there up to XXL). Little t-shirts like this are my favorite workout tops; they don’t have a lot of loose material but they’re comfortable and lightweight.
Verdict: I calculated a value of about $31, give or take, for the May Fit Lifestyle Box. I think that is a pretty good value for a $20 fitness subscription. I discovered a lot of new brands here, including the OhYeah! One bars, which I will totally purchase again. I will also get a lot of use out of the shirt, which provides the bulk of the value for the box.
