GlobeIn Artisan Box
4.3 overall rating

Dear Venturers & Voyagers, Romantics & Pioneers,

Adventure is an impulse. It is also a muscle. It requires the ability to plan and the gumption to let go, the ability to carry and the surrender to toss. It calls for just the right accessories—threadbare, essential.

What are you waiting for?

Run. Jump over things. Go where it’s beautiful. Where it is forbidden. Find something hidden. Sneak around. Climb to the top. Go to the bottom, to the edge, go the distance. Plot a course. Get lost. SLEEP UNDER THE STARS. Spontaneously. Metaphorically. Take a dirt road. Get dirty. Get in a tree. Be adventurous.

GlobeIn has released the FULL SPOILERS for their July 2017 Adventure box:

How can you skip without cancelling?

I think it’s at the bottom of the selection page… past all of the “add-ons” – there should be a “Skip” button

Well… It’s certainly a vote of confidence in their customers that Globein felt the need to describe to us what a bag does. I’ve been doing it all wrong!

*Takes a bag from a previous Globein off head, as it was being worn as a hat.*

And… These straps aren’t meant to be used as a belt? ALL THOSE TIMES I’ve bought groceries and carried them individually home and back and home and back… I could have put them IN a BAG?
My life is forever changed! The 20 or so reusable bags I own around the apartment already… My god, who knew? I can tell my husband we don’t have to cut leg holes in them and I can get him ACTUAL underwear! I don’t have to drag my cell phone everywhere in a wagon behind me! Thanks for explaining, GlobeIn!

LOL 😉

I’m guessing this was written out of a bit of frustration, but it’s one of the funniest comments I’ve read in a while 🙂

Thank you! Yes, there was definitely some built-up frustration (that it seems many other people are feeling about the changes happening with GlobeIn, but laughing about it helps.
I was worried it might have come across as too mean, as it was held for review before posting, but I was trying to strike a balance of more light-hearted.
You made my morning 😉

I’m cancelling too. A lot of these are things that I can get at Whole Foods for a similar price, like the cup from the Eco to Go box, and that’s saying something about the cost. Plus, I get to pick my colors.

With the price hike, if there’s one item in there I don’t like, the small discount is moot. And seeing an item you got in what is supposed to be an artisan box at a grocery store is disheartening. Even if that store supports similar causes, it just feels too mass produced to be called artisan.

I’m trying Anchor of Hope out and so far really liking it. The items might not retail for as much so the discount feel isn’t really there, but they are all hand made and things I’m unlikely to be able to find on my own since they are small artisans still. Plus they are volunteer operated. All proceeds go to the artisans who are survivors of human trafficking. So even if there’s one or two items in not thrilled about, I know my money at least went to a good cause.

I will have to check them out, I’ve been looking for a new box similar to the older GlobeIn stuff when my subscription runs out.

The second theme is just a repeat of Bathe…….I’m soooo not happy with them right now. I’ve already defaulted to repeats several times recently and this month there really is only one new theme. That’s not what they promised us. I’m skipping this month and considering my options for stopping the subscription all together.

Globein, what’s the 2nd theme for July???

Reply ButtonReply

Jen

So it’s not just me who regrets renewing this subscription. I used to be so excited to see new themes. Now, not so much.

Ugh another unimpressive box from GlobeIn. Too many repeats as others have already stated. This used to be my favorite subscription box company but they have lost their originality. Maybe they grew too big too fast or what I don’t know but so wishing it hadn’t renewed for 6 more months. Skipping yet another month. Sigh.

GlobeIn used to be one of my favorite subs… Now – all seems like repeats. They sent out that very same mug last year. Glad that I cancelled my subscription two months ago.

It was a travel cup, not a mug, but I catch your drift…it was the same pattern and everything. I’m a devoted GlobeIn fan and I had the same thoughts. I already have a bag just like that except in solid colors from before. I have alot of mugs (and they’ve already done that pattern). I’ve already gotten bandanas and headbands from them (just got a headband this month for my Club membership as a matter of fact). And eventhough I love socks, they just aren’t that exciting. I guess I’m just disappointed in the lack of originality or surprise. Hopefully the other theme is a better fit for me. I’ve been subbed for about a year and just extended for another year to lock in the old pricing…maybe I’m just saturated but it seems like there are plenty of other options that would be unique.

Stefanie

This sub went so downhill. Such a bummer.

Traci

Sort of unimpressed with this one. I like the idea of the bag, but not loving the design. Also, not so sure a $61 value is great for a $55 sub box. Will likely skip this box as well unless they give me an option again for a past box I liked.

One more box left on my Artisian sub, probably get one more Love Box to make a set of wine glasses, nothing else appeals to me from the past ones, or this one for July.

I will keep my club sub though and just get some add on’s or an artisan box once in a while from here. I was hoping the boxes would get better, and yes…we want the baskets.

Reply ButtonReply

Wendy

Why have they stopped including the baskets? I can never get enough. I have one month left and I’m certainly not wasting it on this one.

Reply ButtonReply

Wendy

My blanket from last month was not unique at all, btw. Gray and depressing.

Reply ButtonReply

Janelle

My blanket was hideous had a really garish orange in it. I wish they would have told us that we all wouldn’t get the color that they advertised. It was the only reason I got that box. Plus no baskets! I’m done after my subscription runs out.

Svetlana7e

$55 for the box with $61 value? not sure, I got it that it supposed to be artisan, but still.

Reply ButtonReply

Cindy

Looks like I may have to skip (again).

ashby

I love everything about this except the coloring of the bag isn’t for me. One day I’m going to get this sub!
