An info card was included listing each item in the box. The reverse side of the card showed pictures of the box contents. The theme this month was "A Visit from the Tooth Fairy."
The Tooth Fairy’s Royal Visit by Peter Bently - $12.32 on Amazon (retail price $17.99)
The prince has lost his tooth and the tooth fairy has to find a way to the prince’s bedroom in the enormous royal palace. This fabulously illustrated story is told in rhyme and is a ton of fun to read aloud. Both of my children loved this book and have asked for repeated readings since we received it.
Tooth Brushing Timer - Value $1.36
This sand-filled hourglass runs for two minutes and gives your child a reminder to spend some time cleaning those pearly whites and not rush. The smiley teeth on either end of the timer are cute and friendly.
Dr. Seuss Print – Value $5.00
This print was a darling illustrated tooth quote by Dr. Seuss. It was made by Etsy seller Dorinda Art. This would be nice to display in the bathroom as a good reminder for your child(ren) to brush their teeth. On the reverse of the print was a letter from this month’s featured book author: Peter Bently. The letter shares what Peter used to wonder about the tooth fairy when he was a child and what he has learned about the tooth fairy now that he’s an adult.
Silver Sequin Wand - Value $3.73
You can’t be a tooth fairy without a wand, right?! My daughter claimed this wand as hers the minute we opened the LitJoy Crate. She’s been waving it around ever since. The star is made of silver sequins, and the plastic stick is skinny, lightweight, and measures about 14 inches long.
DIY Crown - Value $0.19
This plain white cardboard crown is meant to be embellished with jewels, glitter, stickers, crayons, markers, etc. LitJoy included a few adhesive gems that my daughter stuck on.
Tooth Fairy Pillow – Value $12.00
What an adorable pillow for your child to place their tooth in when it has fallen out. It comes with a ribbon that you can use to hang the pillow from their bedpost or doorknob. I love when LitJoy Crate includes special handmade items from Etsy, and this is one of my favorites yet. My son, who is entering first grade in the fall, has already lost two teeth, and he’s now anxious to lose a third and use this beautiful pillow.
Trident Spearmint Gum - $0.99
This month’s adult gift was a pack of Trident spearmint sugar-free gum. I see how sugar-free gum goes along with the tooth fairy theme, but I would have much preferred to see fancy flavored toothpaste, such as Marvis, as the parent gift.
Verdict: My kids were thrilled with the tooth fairy theme this month. We really enjoyed the book and thought the extras fit the theme well, too. I calculated the value this month to be over $35.00, which just about breaks even with the cost of the box (plus shipping). I was happy to see the value go up this month, and I loved the tooth pillow, which was better than some of the filler items I have seen in recent months.
