I love that, instead of an info card, this box includes a folded poster with all the product info on the back!
June's theme is "Rise Up." You can see all of the products listed out with photos, too!
Exclusive Blame! T-Shirt
This shirt is pretty awesome. It features Killy, the protagonist of the cyberpunk anime, Blame! I feel like fans of the Matrix would like this show—it's based in a world where technology has taken over and driving humanity to the brink of extinction. I think this shirt was included as a bit of a promo for the Netflix interpretation of Blame!, which came out in May 2017.
It's a pretty standard 100% cotton tee. Function-wise, it's nothing fancy, but if you dig the graphic, I think it's pretty cool.
Exclusive Knights of Sidonia Cell Phone Stand
Oh man, I love sweet mech units. They're just so cool!
This Garde from Knights of Sidonia makes a cool addition to my desk, though once my phone is sitting on it, you can't really tell what it is...
The stand is basically two pieces of plastic that slide together to make this little stand. It works okay for standard-sized phones, but I noticed that putting a bigger phone (like an iPhone Plus) on the stand makes it want to tip over a bit. It also doesn't have a place for a plug to go, which is kind of annoying if you want to charge your phone while it sits on your desk.
Exclusive Voltron Enamel Pin
Oh, this is awesome. I've been getting more and more into the enamel pin trend, growing the number of pins on my jacket lapel little by little, and this face is going to look rad amidst the other pop-culture designs.
It's a pretty nice pin, too. The colors are all bright and the lines are crisp (it doesn't look like one color is overflowing into another section of the pin, as I've seen with other, lower-quality designs). It's huge, too, for an enamel pin (like, around 2-2.5 inches tall) and has two studs on the back to hold it solidly wherever you pin it. Even cooler, the snout of the lion moves up and down, just like in the cartoon!
Exclusive Evangelion Micro Macro Mini Plush
Eeeeeeee! I love Evangelion and Rei most of all! This plush is teeny weeny—she'd make a great keychain if only she had a little loop on her. It's only about 3" tall. Her body is a bean bag, but her head is squishy and plush. According to the information on the poster, Loot Anime will have a limited number of all of these characters on sale starting on July 15. Can you imagine having the whole gang sitting on your shelf?! Adorable!
Exclusive Kitty-Mecha RISE UP Charm
Another exclusive! This metallic silver phone charm is so cute, thought it's only an homage to Loot Anime, rather than a show.
The charm is about the size of a half dollar, so it's on the bigger side. I found it a little clanky, swinging against my phone, so maybe I'll use it as a zipper charm on my backpack instead.
Gurren Lagann Art Works Book - Value $71.77 on Amazon
I think this book is awesome, but I'm so shocked that it's so expensive, even on Amazon!
This book is pretty much images-only, and showcases all sorts of licensed Gurren Lagann artwork—images from DVD covers, magazines, and even body pillows, haha!
If you're a fan of the show, and especially if you're someone who loves exploring the artistry of anime, this book is pretty inspiring!
The Verdict: This box was pretty cool, though the phone stand ended up being a little underwhelming. It's hard to calculate value since everything but the book was an exclusive. But if it is priced fairly on Amazon, the book far outdoes the cost of the box and shipping. If I just divide the cost of the box and shipping ($29.95) by the number of items, everything would have to be around $5.00. I think that's a pretty fair price for all of these designs (it's what I'd expect to pay, at the very least, for licensed merchandise at a store at the mall).
