Kwailnara Banana Milk Hand Cream 60 g - Value $4.99
I first discovered this product in the March/April 2017 PinkSeoul Plus Box. This hand cream is inspired by banana milk that is apparently a very popular drink in Korea. I've never had banana milk before, so to me, it smells like strawberry banana yogurt. Either way, it is a sweet, fruity fragrance that makes my mouth water. The cream applies very easily with no greasiness whatsoever. It dries quickly and sets to a weightless, velvety finish.
Leaders Coconut Gel Brightening Recovery Mask - Value $7
Leaders Coconut Gel Moisturizing Recovery Mask - Value $7
Leaders Coconut Gel Lifting Recovery Mask - Value $7
These sheet masks are made from coconut bio-cellulose, which provides better adherence and absorption abilities compared to cotton masks. The links I have above show the new packaging, but the formula is the same. The Brightening mask aims to brighten dull and uneven skin tone while improving complexion. The Moisturizing mask provides long-lasting moisture as well as instant hydration. The Lifting mask aims to minimize wrinkles and maximize elasticity and firmness in the skin.
The mask has a pleasing fragrance and soothing, gel-like essence. I love the bio-cellulose material because it's very thin, breathable, and adheres like a second skin. After use, my face feels drenched in hydration. Skin looks brighter, plumper, and less red. However, the essence feels pretty sticky after use. This was the case for all the masks from this line. That said, I can reduce some of the sticky sensation with a thin layer of aloe vera gel layered on top.
Leaders Illuminating Treatment Mask - Value $2
Leaders Anti-Aging Treatment Mask - Value $2.50
These are cotton fiber sheet masks. The Illuminating mask aims to provide intense brightening for dull skin, and it contains Portulaca Oleracea extract. The Anti-Aging mask aims to improve elasticity and firmness in the skin with adenosine as a key ingredient. The mask fit feels great and the essence is relatively sweet. The fragrance lingers throughout masking but it isn't too bothersome. After use, skin feels hydrated, refreshed, and plump. Both masks dry to a sticky finish, which isn't ideal for use during the daytime or under makeup, but it's no problem for nighttime wear.
Elizavecca Power Ringer Mask in Centella Asiatica - Value $3.71
Elizavecca Power Ringer Mask in Fruits - Value $3.90
Elizavecca Power Ringer Mask in Tea Tree - Value $3.12
Subscribers receive 3 from a list 10 Elizavecca masks based on skin type and areas of concern. I received the Centella Asiatica mask for soothing rough skin, the Fruits mask for sebum, blackhead, and oil control, and the Tea Tree mask for those with sensitive and troubled skin. The Tea Tree mask is my favorite of the three. The masks are made from thin cotton fabric. The mask fit is great. The fragrance is somewhat strong but dissipates after several minutes of wear. After use, my skin feels very soothed and more even toned. The essence absorbs quickly and sets to a slightly tacky (but mostly comfortable) finish. I like these!
L'Affair Skin Renewal Mask in Aqua - Value $2.20
L'Affair Skin Renewal Mask in Aloe Soothing - Value $2.20
These multi-step sheet mask kits are perfect for traveling! There are 3 steps in each kit: face cleanser, ampoule, and sheet mask. I received Aqua and Aloe Soothing varieties. The Aqua mask provides intense hydration while the Aloe Soothing mask helps soothe and hydrate skin.
Step 1 is the cleanser. It has a fresh-smelling fragrance and lathers into dense, plush foam. My regular cleansers don't foam up profusely so this is a nice change. After rinsing, my face has that "squeaky clean" feeling. Plus, it doesn't dry out the skin at all.
Step 2 is the ampoule. At first, it feels thick like vaseline but soon melts down from the warmth of my fingers. The fragrance is hardly detectable. It absorbs relatively quickly and sets to a surprisingly soft, matte finish. I'm impressed by how it performs on my skin.
Step 3 is the sheet mask. The mask fit is great and the gel-like essence has a lot of slip when you first apply the mask to the face. The fragrance reminds me of hand sanitizer... not the most pleasant of smells but it could be worse. After use, the essence fully absorbs in 3-5 minutes. Unfortunately, the finish is very sticky! It even makes my face look shiny, and I can feel the formula resting on top of my skin. Overall, I like the cleanser and ampoule but not the sheet mask.
Su:m37 Secret Essence sample
Included in the box is a sample from Su:m37, a high-end cosmetic brand under the same umbrella company as Belif and The Face Shop. This is a thin, watery essence with a barely-there citrusy fragrance. It applies super easily like water. It feels weightless and lightly hydrating. Also, it works best layered under the rest of my skincare routine. The full size is very expensive so I'm very glad I got to try it!
Verdict: The total value of this box is about $46, which is about 1.5 times the cost of the box. I think PinkSeoul is slowly going back to its roots with the curation this month. I remember really liking the months when they brought out fancy and unusual masks like bio-cellulose and modeling masks. Therefore I'm really happy that I got not one but three bio-cellulose ones! Even though I didn't like the sticky finish with many of the masks, I still enjoyed the skin moisturizing and soothing benefits. I'm also very happy with the variety of high-quality brands.
