The Target Health Box is a box of samples that you can purchase for $9.99 on its own, or for FREE with a purchase of $30.00 or more!
Target switches up what comes inside the box so that you're not always getting the same products with your Target order. The items I'm going to review today aren't being sent out with orders anymore (see the new items that replaced them here), but you can still purchase this exact version of the box here.
My Subscription Addiction paid for this box. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

Not only does this box come with products—there are a few coupons in here, too!
I always forget to bring coupons to the store with me, so I'll have to pop these in my wallet! Especially with summer around the corner, I like having my medicine cabinet stocked up in case guests drop by or crash on my couch and need something.
These Chapstick coupons, however, I will probably end up using all for myself, haha. My lips get dry and chapped so easily, so I have to stay stocked up on lip balm (in my purse, in my desk drawer, in my car, in my bathroom...).
Hyperbiotics PRO-15 Probiotic Pearls, 8 count - Value $3.33 (Buy a 60 count bottle for $24.99 at Target)
I've not gotten into probiotics, but I'm interested in seeing how they might impact my health. Probiotics help regulate the bacteria that live inside your digestive system, which have a big impact on the wellbeing of your entire body.
The bottle refers to these pills as "pearls". They're teeny tiny and easy to swallow. There are only 8 once-a-day pearls in this sample, so I'm a little concerned that there's not enough for me to start recognizing an impact.
Neutrogena Beach Defense Lotion, 1 fl oz. - Value $1.34 (Buy a 6.7 oz. bottle for $8.99 at Target)
My skin is super pale, so I can't enjoy a day at the beach or pool without a healthy helping of sunscreen. 70 SPF is the magic number for me, too, so this handy, purse-sized bottle is definitely going to get used this summer. The formula soaks into my skin without the residue feeling or lingering white streaks that I get from other sunscreens. The scent smells more like a regular lotion might (maybe with a hint of tropical fragrance in there), rather than the usual sunscreen scent. I love how sunscreen smells, but if you're someone who's not such a big fan, this could be a great product for you.
up&up First Aid Antibiotic Pain Relieving Cream, 1 oz. - Value $5.79
This is just the kind of thing that a grown adult should have in her medicine cabinet, but this grown adult... regrettably does not. Until now!
This is technically a full-size product since it's the same thing you'd buy at Target. The formula is white but rubs in very quickly. This product actually smells more like sunscreen than the sunscreen did! I'm lucky that I don't have anything to test this pain relieving cream on at current, but I can say that it feels smooth and soothing just rubbing it into my skin.
Pure Protein Plus Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Protein Bar, 2.11 oz. - Value $1.97 (Buy a box of 4 for $7.89 at Target)
As a vegetarian, I like having protein bars on hand in my kitchen. It's an easy, quick source of protein, especially when I'm on the go and don't have the time to prep a meal.
I've seen the Pure Protein brand at the store before, but I've never tried it before. I like how high in protein it is and how little sugar it has. This is a chewy-style bar with chocolate chips thrown in for a little texture. The promise of chocolate chip cookie dough always fools me—I love cookie dough so much, but these bars rarely come close to that delicious brown-sugary flavor. This bar tasted pretty mild. Weirdly enough, it was sweet enough, but the savory aspect of cookie dough seemed to be lacking. Still, it did leave me feeling satisfied and full.
Quest Bar Blueberry Muffin, 2.12 oz. - Value $2.25 (Buy a 4 count box for $8.99 at Target)
I have had Quest Bars before, and they strike me as similar to the Pure Protein bar—they're chewy and filling, but the flavor is a few degrees farther away from the flavor they advertise themselves to be than I'd like.
This bar does have a sweet, blueberry taste to it, but there's also an underlying fake-sweetener flavor that made it hard for me to get through. This one has 21g of protein and 2g of sugar in it as well, so it's kind of the same as the previous bar.
Aloha True Vanilla Bean Protein Powder, 1.3 oz. (one serving) - Value $2.00 (Buy a 15-serving container for $29.99 at Target)
I like using protein powder like this in smoothies, or occasionally, I'll dust some into lattes.
This supplement is plant-based, which I prefer, and has 18g of protein in this one serving. It's built around pea protein and pumpkin seed protein. It's got more of a nuttier flavor than I expected, but that nuttiness covered the inevitable faux-sweetener flavor. The vanilla flavor isn't the strongest, but again, as I'm just mixing this in with other flavors (rather than just drinking it with water), it's not such a big deal.
ZzzQuil Sleep Aid, 2 count - Value $0.56 (Buy a pack of 48 for $13.49 at Target)
I don't have too much trouble sleeping (unless I have too much late night coffee...), so I don't see myself using this new type of NyQuil, which is specifically for inducing sleep. However! If I did have house guests in town, I could see it being good to have this on hand. I have a lot of traffic in front of my building. I'm used to the traffic, but I could see it making it tough for an in-town friend to fall asleep.
There are two caps in this pack, which is one dose. The two capsules together could fit on a quarter, so they should go down easy!
Advil PM, 2 caplets - Value $0.50 (Buy a 20 count pack for $4.99 at Target)
The spoilers for this box advertised regular Advil Liqui-Gels, but I received a sample of Advil PM. I don't tend to need Advil, but you never know when a headache or other pesky pain might pop up. So into the medicine cabinet, these go! The tablets are tiny (they're the chalky type of pill rather than a gel capsule), so they'll be comfortable to swallow. Be sure to save these for nighttime, though!
Salonpas Pain Relieving Patch, 2 count - Value $0.33 (Buy a 60 pack for $9.99 at Target)
I'd heard about these pain-relieving patches before, but I've never tried them. They're kind of like little sticky pads that you adhere to any spot that's been ailing you. You can wear the patch for 8 hours, during which the menthol and other soothing ingredients in the patchwork to soothe your achy muscles. The patch has a minty smell, almost like toothpaste, from the mentol. I popped one on my neck, which gets sore after a day at my desk. I didn't notice any great difference between how my neck felt before and after an hour of using the patch, but maybe it wasn't severe enough pain to warrant one in the first place? Either way, it's interesting to get the chance to try this product for myself!
Biofreeze Pain Relieving Gel, 3 ml - Value $0.40 (Buy an 89 ml bottle for $11.99 at Target)
I had a roommate in college with a lot of muscular pain, and she loved Biofreeze! I'd never used it before, but trying a bit on the back of my hand, I can understand why. Y'know that feeling when you put antibacterial gel on your hands, and they feel cool as the alcohol evaporates? That's the feeling that this blue gel leaves on your skin, but much more enduring. If you suffer from pain, I could see this being really soothing!
Verdict: This is a really practical box to receive for free, though I'm not sure I'd go out of my way to buy it online. That said, there is $18.47 of value inside, not counting the coupons! If you're looking to explore a small selection of health products that you've passed by on the shelves over and over again, this is a fun box to receive and explore. If I don't actively use the products myself, I can totally see stowing these products in my medicine cabinet for emergencies!
