Awake Caffeinated Chocolate (caramel, 1.55 oz) – Value $1.67 (buy a 12 pack for $19.99)
Last month there was a problem with melted chocolate and, unfortunately, this month, there was still a problem with melted chocolate. This did solidify enough to eat by putting it in the refrigerator for a few hours, and it was delicious, but it was not pretty.
Koppers Chocolate All Natural Sea Salt Caramels (2 oz) – Value $0.92 (buy a 5-pound bag for $36.95)
These were not as melty as the chocolate bar, but they also did benefit from a few hours in the refrigerator. I noticed the caramel more so than the sea salt. I like the small package size here – it’s hard to eat too many at once.
Eyecandy Accessories DayInDayOut 5 Piece Pedicure Set – Value $2?
I can’t find this for sale online, but I did find a catalog for the product line. Basically, everything in there is really inexpensive so I am not assigning this a super high value. I do think it’s nice to take some time out and pamper yourself at that time of the month. I really need to do a foot peel before I use this, though.
Skinny Pop Popcorn (plain, 0.65 oz) – Value $1.17 (buy a 6-pack for $6.99)
This is just some basic sea salt popcorn. I do find popcorn filling (and high in fiber) when I am craving something salty. I also like the 100-calorie portion pack; because it’s popcorn, it still feels like you are getting to eat a lot.
Beautiful Feet Professional Foot Care Refresh Deep Cleansing Scrub (8.5 oz) – Value $11.50
It appears that this company (this is from California Mango, which I discovered through Escape Monthly a long time ago) used to offer a larger selection of foot scrubs, but only one type is currently available on their website, so this may be old packaging. This worked all right at the end of a shower but my feet are really callused from exercise and such, and like I said earlier, I need to do a foot peel and then use this and the pedicure kit after a layer of skin is gone. This should be good for maintenance, though.
Calsense Socks – Value $5?
This company seems to exist on social media but I can’t find a shop so the value is a guess based on similar items. I often wear socks like this around the house in winter to keep my feet warm and it probably was time for a new pair (it is too hot to wear socks at all right now).
Verdict: I calculated a value of $22.26 for the June The PMS Package. That is right around the cost of the box plus shipping, although I did have to estimate some values. Although I liked the chocolate and I thought it was nice the other items had a cohesive pedicure theme this month, I’ll be honest – I am disappointed with the box contents. This is the second month in a row I received melted chocolate, even after I complained (and received an acknowledgment of the issue from customer service). You just can’t send chocolate in June without a cold pack! There were a couple of items in there that seemed like dollar store items (e.g., pedicure kit) and I suspect the foot scrub may be discontinued by the manufacturer.
As the last word, I know if you are relying on this sort of box to deliver you much-needed supplies so you don’t have to make an emergency run to the store, this one did deliver on-time (early, even). And it is possible to change your monthly delivery date by contacting customer service (this is good, ince not everyone’s cycle is the same length of time).
