Original Grain Barrel Collection Watch - Value $180 based on Barrel Collection watches

My watch is from the brand Original Grain. Original Grain is a family brand started in 2013 that sought to combine natural hardwood and stainless steel into their pieces.

Here's a short video about the process of watch making from Original Grain:

Watch Gang - May 2017 - Original Gang watchface

My watch is from The Barrel line. This line is the first and only watch made with American Oak that was reclaimed from whiskey barrels - I love the little bit of history inlaid in each watch.

It's got a beautifully polished stainless steel body and genuine leather straps. The design has a very simple, but classic, look - and I'm loving it! Even better, the underside of the straps have a nice super soft leather, almost velvety, feel to it - very comfortable on your wrist.

You can find these additional specs on more on the Original Grain site.

Original Grain Bracelet - Value $29

They've also included a bracelet from Original Grain with the watch. These are made to accompany the watch with the same handcrafted techniques and reclaimed wood.

Instead of stretching to fit all wrists, the bracelet cinches with the ties at the end.

Verdict: This month's watch and bracelet brought incredible value - about $210 in value for the $110 price tag! More importantly, I absolutely love the watch and the craftsmanship behind it - so it's a home run for me this month. Personally, I've always been a person that has always wanted to wear watches all the time and bought the latest and great digital watches, so I'm liking Watch Gang so far since it has allowed me to dabble and try even more watches.

You must have gotten the good watch. I have never received a watch of that quality. Most of the watches I have received appear as though they came straight off the boat from China. One even had the made is China sticker on the back. Also, never got one in a wooden box or with a free bracelet. The ones I get look like they came right off of WalMart’s shelves and in WalMart they we $10 cheaper. I don’t know if you got a good one because you were doing a review or just got lucky. Armitron would be a step up from what I have been receiving. I made the mistake of subscribing for a year. You’re stuck unless you want to forfeit 20% to quit. Maybe that is why I have gotten crap watches because they know your stuck.
Would not recommend to anyone. Save your money and buy watches that you want. I have 91 watches and do not keep the Watch Gang watches, too cheap.

That definitely doesn’t sound like any of the watches I’ve seen being sent out. They guarantee the value – have you contacted them? Maybe you are subscribed to their original membership and would want higher quality watches? That’s why I signed up for black and platinum.
