The Faction theme had a number of different fandoms, from Marvel to Star Wars!

It comes with an information card detailing every item in the box.

Each month includes a theme pin as well.

"Frenemy" Shirt - Value $15?

This month's shirt features Cap and Iron Man battling. But, they're battling with paint, maybe as a call out to Splatoon 2 (I have honestly never played the game but I know the premise)?

Mattel Hot Wheels Star Wars Starships - Value $5-6 on Amazon

You'll get one of 10 possible Star Wars ships from Hot Wheels.

There are a few to collect that span across all of the Episodes.

I got the AT-AT walker - one of my absolute favorite Star Wars ships!

It has a little stand, but It's not needed to stand - just to look like it's part of the collection. There's not much articulation, because (naturally) the first thing I tried to do was put it in the downed AT-AT pose!

Marvel Lapel Pin Blind Bag - Value $5?

I can't find this for sale anymore - so I'm valuing it at the typical geek box pin value.

You'll get 1 of 25 possible Marvel characters - I got Daredevil!

Squid Ink Sticker - Value $5?

This is a 6x5 sticker - again, I think it's a call out to Splatoon with the 'squid ink'? It'll peel off of the yellow paper backing revealing a translucent sticker.

Assassin Air Freshener - Value $2-3?

The final item is an air freshener featuring Assassin's Creed. This will provide a strong strawberry scent for your car!

Verdict: If you're looking for a geek box geared towards a younger audience, 1UP Box seems to successfully skew in that direction. Overall, it's always a good value because the shirt pretty much covers the cost of the box - and this month's shirt is one of their better ones.

With the ink and the shading around the eyes I would agree that the shirt is a nod to Splatoon. That would be very timely since the latest Splatoon game was released this week for the Switch.

Yep – exactly my thoughts! Is Splatoon any fun? Is it just like a FPS but geared towards kids?

I’m the only one in my family that doesn’t like to play Splatoon but that’s because I’ve never liked FPS games (give me a good ole RPG any day if the week!).

It was released Friday night? I think… Both my husband and 5 year old are hooked (husband loved the first one too).
From hours of watching the last Splatoon: it looks fun and apparently Nintendo does a good job matching up the skill levels of the teams, although I have noticed in rounds where someone is much higher that they dominate (probably a mix of higher skill, more experience and weaponry). It’s also the only FPS I will let my 5 year old watch let alone play.

My husband was rhapsodizing about the beauty of the paint. How it builds up in certain spots and it feels different as you run through thicker paint. How it dripped realistically from the walls… He’s a computer guy; so, I think he greatly appreciated the technological aspects a lot.

So, this weekend was Splatoon city over here. I think one day I may see my husband again…one day…
