Now, on to the items!

invisibobble Traceless Hair Ring – Value $7

These hair ties are designed to prevent any kinks/bumps/ridges in your hair that typically happen with a normal hair tie. I have medium-weight wavy hair, and this hair ring held really easily with only wrapping it around twice.

Londontown Lakur Enhanced Color in Cheerio – FULL SIZE! Value $16

I’m in love with this sheer pale pink shade! It’s a great no-polish polish look. Here it is with two coats:

Londontown kur Nourishing Cuticle Oil – FULL SIZE! Value $18

This cuticle oil works instantly to moisturize and improve the appearance of cuticles. And there is no chemical smell – love it!

Jane Iredale Smooth Affair Facial Primer and Brightener – 7 ml Value $6.75

I’ve sampled this primer before and it works well! My skin feels smoother and ready for makeup. I can’t say I notice any special difference between this and other primers, so I likely wouldn’t buy this in full-size, but I’ll use every drop of this sample.

Jurlique Rose Moisture Plus Revitalising Gel-Lotion - 5 ml Value $4.70

This lotion is SO lightweight and soothing! The only downside for me is the rose scent. It's not a dealbreaker, but I'd prefer a different scent or unscented.

Supergoop Setting Mist with Rosemary – 15 ml Value $6

Make sure to REALLY shake this for an even application. (I learned that the hard way the first time I sampled this product!)

When you get an even mist, this setting spray is pretty great. It sets your makeup, gives you SPF 50 protection, and also a matte finish!

Doucce Bombastic Lash Volumizer Mascara - .2 oz Value $4.80

I'm always skeptical when trying a new mascara, but this one was a pleasant surprise! Good volume + good lash definition! B+!

Amika Un.Done Texture Spray - .75 oz Value $7.50

This spray smells fab and adds texture and a little volume. Not much different from other texture sprays, but still a good item!

Gingko’s Secret Caring Hand Balm – FULL SIZE! Value $17

This formula is for dry to extra-dry skin, and it is super hydrated. (Of course, that means it takes a little longer to fully absorb, but it still absorbed without any greasy feeling.)

Oscar Blandi Volumizing Dry Shampoo Spray - 1.4 oz Value $7

This is one of the first ever dry shampoos I've ever tried and it is a classic! (Tip from MSA readers - if you don't need dry shampoo, try it as a shoe deodorizer!)

Mally High Shine Liquid Lipstick in Mod Pink – FULL SIZE! Value $20

This is called a liquid lipstick, but really it is more of a lip gloss. There is some color, but really this has the feel and shine of a lipgloss.

Here it is swatched:

Limited-Edition Freesia Pear Spongellé Shower Sponge – Value $15

If you aren’t already familiar Spongelle Sponges, they are pretty amazing.

They are infused with body wash, and the sponge is firmer than your typical bath pouf, so you get exfoliation added in, as well. (And this sponge should last you for about 20 washes!)

Erno Laszlo Firmarine Face Bar – .6 oz Value $2.80

Erno Laszlo soaps are always such a treat to get in boxes (but they are SO tiny)! This soap has a wonderful fresh scent, too.

Verdict: This box has a value of about $132. I think that's great for a $40 box IF you aren't already an Allure Beauty Box subscriber! Almost every item in this box was a repeat for me, and most are good to have backups of, but still, it's not a good discovery box.

Did you get an Allure X RueLaLa box? What do you think of it?

I just canceled so I won’t get the next one of these, all the samples were half full. Not impressed for the money. I love the regular allure monthly box. I canceled today with chat on the rue lala website. Concierge said he would take care of it and I’ll receive a email that hasn’t happened yet. So if I get billed I’ll be mad. I’m moving across country on the 15th and they couldn’t confirm I’ll get it before then.
I’ve heard bad reviews about canceling hope it doesn’t end up being a nightmare.

I got billed and received the 2nd box, still not impressed missing 2items sent a message they won’t do anything. Ruelala is horrible customer service. I’m cancelled again let’s see if they bill me again. Don’t waste your money on this box. Horrible. Allure beauty box is amazing it’s my favorite so I thought this would be similar nope. Not happy with them at all.

I so wanted to love Allure Boxes and I cancelled twice and restarted once. So unimpressed with the items.

Liz, I love your “FULL SIZE!”. It makes me think of the Target lady “YOU’RE APPROVED !”

Kristin

What that is my favorite hand cream! Off to the swap site to stockpile.

Is anyone else not impressed by doucce? And Manna Kadar…

Missy

I actually found 3 items in some of my subs that are doucce & manna KADAR that I love & were great discoveries for me; Of course we all know that they are both constantly in subs but I found an awesome mascara not this one but the Doucce Maxlash Volumizer Mascara, it’s amazing and I’m super super picky about my mascara, it really gives amazing length and volume & I love the wand I actually stopped using my Rollerlash for it and plan on buying more! Also I’m in love with Manna KADAR priming mascara it really makes a difference! Last bit not least if I’m not obsessed with my mascara I’m obsessed with my lip products! And Manna’s Liplocked priming gloss stain in Lucky its soooo nice and the color will flatter anyone plus it does so nice on my lips super moisturizing and just plain pretty! And honestly up until I found these products I wasn’t really a fan of neither but now I’m open to them! Just my 3 cents lol

Is the mascara waterproof?

I’m don’t care for Doucce either. The packaging always looks nice, but I find the results of their products disappointing.

Christine

Both Manna Kadar and Doucce are made in “prc”, which is the people’s republic of China.

This is strange. I did not get this box, but I have every single one of the items, accumulated from other sub boxes over the past 2.5 years. I even got the same color of hair bobbles, same shade of nail polish and same fragrance of the Spongelle buffer. So, while I think this would be a nice box for a beginner, I would’ve been disappointed by getting a box of nothing but repeats (especially the Supergoop mist, which I have 3 of and don’t use due to the smell).

Oh this is definitely stuff left over in inventory. And to charge $39.99 a box because you plastered Rue La La’s name on it? You’ve got to be kidding me.

Leslie Belt

I have to agree, and I suckered in on it! And, I thought it was 39.99 for ALL 3 boxes. I saw each, but thought that’s gotta be a mistake, or its a HUGE box…um…no…th nail polish is unwearable. I have 3 bottles of THIS BRAND cuticle oil…and it sucks on top of that…I was VERY UNHAPPY!!!! Luckily, I use a prepaid credit card from Walmart, it’s a visa, but I have to load money onto it! I can just NOT have $ on my card at time of the next box….this was a complete sham!

DB

I agree, and I think most of the items are from previous Allure boxes! I no longer subscribe as I had a lot of issues with their customer service, and this reinforces my decision. Expensive and disappointing box.

Emma

Agreed. I have everything in this box already. Allure customer service has always sucked. Won’t give them another penny.

Laura

I’m still confused over the ‘partnership’ with RueLaLa… what is different? Seems like the same stuff Allure sends.

Christine

This is a leftover box. The Rituals hand cream featured (that entire line) has even been discontinued.

Reply ButtonReply

Missy

Not discontinued just rebranded with new names

Tj

Yeah, I’m not impressed with this. It looks like a leftover box.

Jeniferlyn

You said exactly what I was thinking!! Right down to that tiny soap!
