Now on to the items!
Beautaniq Beauty Blush Serum - FULL SIZE! Value $16
Yes to a full-size item in a Birchbox! (This is pretty rare.)
The formula is creamy and highly pigmented. It's also infused with apricot seed oil and vitamin E, and supposed to also have skin care benefits.
Here it is swatched:
(Blended-in version below the full swatch.)
A little goes a long way with this blush cream - it feels like this little tube will last forever! The bubble gum pink color ends up working with my skin tone when I blend it out, too.
MAC Prep + Prime Skin - 6 ml Value $6.20
Birchbox began carrying MAC this year, and I love getting their samples! (MAC doesn't usually show up in subscription boxes.) This primer is lightweight, oil-free, and made my skin so smooth!
Oribe Matte Waves Texture Lotion - 15 ml Value $6.20
First, let me just say that I'm always thrilled to see Oribe in a subscription box! This haircare brand is so luxurious (i.e. expensive) that I rarely buy it, but always enjoy a luxe little sample!
I sampled this before thanks to the latest Net-A-Porter beauty kit, and it's currently my go-to hair styling product. I'm using it a bit off-label, but I apply about 4 pumps of the product to my hair post shower, then blow dry. It adds texture and a fabulous scent. (I recommend this approach if you are on beach wave-overload!)
Kiehl’s Rare Earth Deep Pore Daily Cleanser - 1 oz Value $4.50
This creamy, clay formula might be the perfect cleanser. It's fragrance-free and gentle on my skin and didn't dry my skin out either. Plus, I love that it is a foaming cleanser with a little grittiness from the clay to help with exfoliation. It does all the things!
Juliette Has a Gun Anyway - 1.7 ml Value $3.40
This scent is described as an "unexpected blend of green lime essence, neroli, and jasmine." It's a clean scent, and while I'm not much of a perfume wearer, I don't mind this one.
Verdict: This box has a value of about $36 - that's good for a $10 beauty box. In most cases, the curated box has a good value, so I recommend always picking it if that's a priority for you.
And I am SO impressed with the sample sizes and brands included this month! MAC? Oribe? Kiehl's? Yes, please! Yes, always!!
What do you think of the July Birchbox? Did you pick a curated box or a sample?
