We have a spoiler for the August 2017 Boxwalla Food box:
In our August Box, we feature a food that not only offers a myriad of health & cognitive benefits, but also offers an intensely epicurean experience. Yes, we're ALL about the MATCHA!!! We love how nerdy & steeped in history & culture the process of tasting & experiencing matcha is. The science behind its intense umami, the affect of terroir on taste, the nuances & notes one experiences while tasting really great matcha.
In the August FoodBox, you will get to experience an exquisite koicha-grade matcha from Fukuoka in Japan, that was not previously available outside the Japanese domestic market. Carefully selected by Zack Mangan of Kettl, the matcha will be ordered fresh from a farm in Japan, packed into oxygen-free packaging and air-shipped to ensure absolute freshness

Is there any chance of full spoilers for this box soon? I love matcha but I’m not sure if I want to pay the one-time box price for this. Would love to know what else is in it! (:

What? Matcha is not umami. I’m confused.

Hi Regina. High quality matcha is characterized by umami. It comes from the amino acid L – Theanine that is present in the tea leaves (tencha) that are used to make matcha. Hope that helps. Feel free to ask any further questions!
