BoxyCharm is a full-size beauty and makeup subscription box. They always provide a great value compared the cost of the box. (If you are a makeup addict - I HIGHLY recommend this box!)

This box was sent to us for review purposes. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

The Subscription Box: BoxyCharm

The Cost: $21 a month

The Products: 5-6 beauty items that will include nail care, skin care, makeup, haircare, fragrance and more. (At least 4 of those items will be full-sized).

Ships to: US and Canada

Check out all of my BoxyCharm reviews and the Beauty Subscription Box Directory!

Each box comes with a card detailing the items included.

Now, time for the items!

Boxycharm x blinc Electric Eyes Eyeshadow Palette – $45

This palette is AMAZING!!

The shimmery palette like a liquid/powder/cream hybrid! The formula glides on SO smoothly, the finish stays put, and the pigment is incredible. This is my new favorite palette!

(Swatched in lower photo.)

bareMinerals Invisible Light Translucent Powder Duo - Value $32

(Subscribers will either receive this powder duo, or bareMinerals Prep Step Broad Spectrum SPF 50.)

This set includes baked translucent powders designed to help diffuse the look of pores and imperfections.

The shade on the left has a matte finish and works as a setting powder. On the right, the Glow shade adds sheer luminosity for highlighting and strobing.

I really like both of these. The matte is perfect to use every day to prevent shine, and the Glow is the ideal kind of highlighter for me = subtle!

ColourPop Ultra Satin Lip in Lock Diary - Value $6

(Subscribers will receive one of six colors - check out all of the shades in our Boxycharm spoilers post.)

I'm a big fan of ColourPop liquid lipsticks! The formula on this liquid lipstick stays put for hours and wears down nicely, the pigment is fantastic, and it isn't too drying, either.

(Swatched in lower photo.)

Winky Lux Uni-Brow Universal Eyebrow Pencil – Value $12

This brow tool has a pencil on one end, and a spoolie on the other:

The universal color worked well for me, too. (I've been going for a full brow look lately, and this color brown let me fill in my brows perfectly.)

Here is swatched beneath the eyeshadow, Glow powder, and ColourPop:

Important to note: those eyeshadow swatches are with just one swipe!!

Project Beauty Spray Set Go – Value $32

Makeup setting sprays are one of those items I'm always happy to use when I have them, but forget to buy when I run out - so this is a win for me. And I've sampled some sprays that don't smell the best - but this one has a light and barely-there scent.

The mist itself isn't super fine, but it wasn't an issue either as long as I held it at least 12 inches from my face.

Verdict: This box has a value of about $127! As always, the value for Boxycharm is amazing! This is one of my favorite Boxycharm boxes of all time, too - everything is super usable for me, and I'm just in awe over that palette!

I think Boxycharm is a perfect subscription for people who love makeup. You're going to get a lot of palettes, highlighters, etc., so it's great if you want to build your collection and try all the things! (If you only need one highlighter/palette in your makeup arsenal, this might not be the best box for you.)

I would love to be able to swap products with people too. Any idea how long it takes to get off the waitlist??

Holy moly I couldn’t believed I got the the box I wanted!!! I was heart broken when I heard there are different variations right after I subscribed! And I was already told myself it’s worth it to have the eyeshadow, lipstick and also eyebrow alone and everything is just a bonus. My box weighed 0.9 lbs and thought it was the ofra and bm sunscreen which I don’t mind but I got the duo powder and got the setting spray. I subscribed around the 14th and they still have this box!!! So don’t lose your hope ppl!!! I can’t wait till August!!! I had allure, ipsy, Sephora and birchbox and this is far the best box ever!

My eyeshadow pallet showed up looking like a bomb went off inside the box. This is my first month with Boxycharm, are they good about replacing broken items? I pray my Tarte pallet doesn’t show up like this next month!

I got the box variation #1 and am SO happy with what I got!

HOWEVER I have something I just wanted to throw out there.

The blinc palette is honestly CRAZY INFLATED with the price. $45 for 5 shadows is insane! They have a palette that has 10 shades and is almost double the amount of product (0.61 oz vs 0.38 oz) and is only $3 more. The packaging is also VERY inexpensive and has been falling apart & getting smashed for a lot of people. There are SO many high end & quality eyeshadows that are under $9 a pan! I’m not saying the eyeshadows suck because they definitely don’t, but it just seems a little odd to have that kind of “retail value”. The ABH Subculture palette and the Aurora Glow Kit are technically cheaper!

Thankfully none of us actually paid $45 for a 5 pan palette though!

Anyone else think it’s a little weird?

JuJu

Yeah, it’s ironic that the Tarte palette next month that everyone is so excited about is actually a lot cheaper! And blinc is an unknown brand…

ErynPS

Olivia, I agree that many of the MSRP, or “retail values” of many products in sub boxes are highly over priced! (Example, the eyeshadow palette this month, or the Fab Fit Fun editors box that had a $45 vinyl pouch, I’ve gotten better quality bags as a gift with purchase.) The new Jaclyn Hill Palette is, in my opinion, very good quality and it’s $38. (35 shadows) That averages about $1.08 for each shadow pan and they are about the size of the shadows in the Blinc palette. I think the Blinc palette is beautiful, but I would not pay $45 for 5 shadows unless it was a “name” that I was paying for, like a Special limited edition Chanel anniversary edition or something similar.

I hope I get the primer, brow product and a lippie that is not any hue of orange. Here’s hoping!

I just got my box today and it was this EXACT box! I’m a new subscriber. I love all of it but I’m a little wary of this lip color (lock diary). It’s pretty but a very intense fuschia color and I’m very fair, not sure I can pull it off… other than that I’m thrilled with this box!

Reply ButtonReply

Aimee

I got this exact box down to the lip color. I am pleased. I was sort of hoping for the prep step since I am always looking for a primer that works but I got the powder which I am happy to have. I would have preferred a more neutral lip but that’s the beauty of these boxes to pull you out of your comfort zone. I have to admit that I have had a ton of complements on the lip color so maybe I can pull off a bright color. I waited a really long time but the box is worth it and I am happy. PS I am happy to report no damaged eyeshadows for me……I was worried about that this time. Yikees. Great month Boxy!!!

annalily5

I got this exact box, lip color and everything! So excited for all the products(well, maybe not the brow pencil, I suck at using those, but I guess it’s good to practice!). I love the bright lip, the powder is great and came at the perfect time since I just ran out of my other one, eyeshadows are gorg, and the setting spray works really well.

Anyone who got the Ofra illuminiser AND the BM sunscreen primer – I will gladly swap the setting spray & BM powder!!

I received the Bare Minerals Prep Step and unfortunately my skin will not allow me to use it! I have very sensitive and acne prone skin and I tried to use this product twice and I cant. Would anyone be interested in buying, swapping me for it? I really want the powder. Like I said, I only use the Prep Step literally twice!

I got my BOXYCHARM on time, I have been a customer for about 18 months and I am always pleased. Customer service is good, price is great, and the VALUE is just phenomenal!!! And now we get bare minerals, MUFE, dr brandt and now tarts….I feel like their moving into more mainstream brands. Stick around ladies, BOXYCHARM=❤️❤️❤️ 😍

Valerie

I have the same box as the review! I’ve never been so happy about a boxycharm box. The setting spray is just kind of “meh”, but I will definitely use it so I’m not upset.

I’m so sad because my eyeshadow palette came with two pots completely crushed–they fell out when I opened it! I was so excited about it so I hope they send an exact replacement.

Tami

Does anyone know how to contact Boxycharm? My palette came shattered and I sent the letter through their site with photos, but no one has gotten back to me. I had this same problem a long time ago and it made me drop the subscription because they never fixed it. I just resubscribed and this was my first box and I feel like I’m reliving the nightmare 🙁

Reply ButtonReply

dwndln

This was my 1st box from Boxycharm. My eyeshadow was shattered as well. I sure hope they replace it AND the Tarte pallet is intact next month!

Email. They’re awesome with emails. Expect about a two day response

Reply ButtonReply

Eliza_villa87

They said they take 48-72 hrs to respond (on business days) so wait a few days… after that I start stalking their social media. If they don’t fix the problem (I had the same issue with my palette this month), I would fully intend to cancel the charge through your credit card company. But do wait a fee days before calling your CC company.

I’m not disappointment at all. I got the box listed, i gifted the brow pencil to my mom who loves it! I’m keeping the shadow palette and most likely swapping the bareminerals powder duo just because I don’t see myself finishing it. May also swap the setting spray since I tend to love the urban decay ones. I ordered the three month sub and this isn’t bad for the first month. I canceled my Glossybox since the 10$ deal ran out and I was worried resubbing with them would mean multiples of both july and August so I’m happily awaiting the tarte shadows now =)

Liz Petrus

If you’d like to swap the powder duo for the sunscreen, I’d be more than happy to.

Even though I received a few eyebrow pencils in several boxes I never really used them. I ended up tryIng the one that came in this box and love it! The colour is perfect for me and you don’t need much.

Reply ButtonReply

Alex

I got my very first ever boxycharm box today and I’m thrilled with it! I got the same version that Liz reviewed here and I’m so happy with the powder duo and the setting spray. I signed up for the shadow palette. Yay! ☺️

Zainab

Hey guys! I just got my box today and got the colourpop color in lock diary. It’s such a beautiful color but I can never pull it off. Does anyone want to swap it with me for a more neutral color like beeper?? Thanks in advance! I am on the swap site if you’re wondering

Ciara

Ughhhhh my delivery day was supposed to be today but now it’s held till Friday!! How annoying I was soo excited for it!

Reply ButtonReply

Lynn

Just got my box today and this is my very first boxycharm! I’m shocked and thrilled I got the exact box I wanted (the palette, bare minerals powder duo, lippie, eyebrow pencil, setting spray). I’m so used to getting the worst possible box with glossy and being disappointed, that getting this box was such a happy surprise! The only problem was my eye shadow palette was broken – I am praying they replace it as it is gorgeous !

Reply ButtonReply

Ciara

What was the weight of your box

Reply ButtonReply

Lynn

The weight of my box was .9lbs.

Kim

I just got my first boxycharm and I’m super happy! I got the box pictured here with the powder and setting spray but I got the hello kitty lippy. I’m really excited to try everything

In case anyone is still waiting and checking box weight mine was also .9 so I guess a lot of them are that weight this month

Paula G

I got the Ofra Body Lotion which looked horrible on my Light Skin I tossed that in the garbage. I was looking forward to the setting spray too

The eyeshadows seemed beautiful and I loved the texture but my daughter was home for the weekend and begged me for the eyeshadows and Lipstick 💋

I love the Bare Minerals powders I will use that for sure.
So this was a just ok box for me.

Reply ButtonReply

liz petrus

I wish you wouldn’t have tossed the ofra. I would’ve bought it from you.

Reply ButtonReply

Eliza_villa87

Hi Liz. My Ofra is still up for grabs if you want it?

LIZ

I’ll sell you mine! Still sealed, never used.

JuJu

You want mine? Still sealed.

Eliza_villa87

Wow… the disappointment is real. I got my box today and I am bummed. I got the Ofra body illuminizer, BareMinerals Prep step, Beauty For Real black eyeliner, Colourpop lippie in Thursday, and the Blinc eyeshadow palette. I really wanted the setting spray, eyebrow pencil, and definitely the BareMinerals powder! 😭😭 I’m on the swap site of anyone wants to trade. I’m open to tradding outside the swap site too if someone isn’t on the site but wants to trade. I kept everything brand new, in tje box, never tested. Hoping we can help each other out!! 🤞🤞

vanessa

Eliza, I will gladly swap the setting spray & BM powder!! Both are unopened.

What did it weigh

O.9 lbs

Cyndi

I received my Boxy today, it included blink palette (damaged), Ofra Body Illuminizer, Beauty for Real I-line in black magic, Colourpop lippie in Thursday (violet) and Bare Minerals Prep Step. I really wanted the Invisible Light Powder Duo, so if anyone wants to swap for the Prep Step, I have it listed.

Reply ButtonReply

Lauren Edwards

I resubscribed after a couple months of not getting boxy. I couldn’t resist the gorgeous palette and have been wanting to try colourpop I also loved the look/idea of the eyebrow pencil. I am so glad I didn’t get eyeliner I would be totally bummed I think eyeliner is kind of a lame thing in a sub box unless it’s colored or something it’s not interesting or fun. I got the same color lippie as Liz and was surprised that I love it it is something I would have never picked and looks amazing. The eyeshadows are just as great as they look and the other products seem good too. I got the translucent powder and setting spray and while I don’t really need either they both seem like good products though I love ofra and would have been happy with that as well.

Am I the only person who’s box still hasn’t even been shipped yet??

Reply ButtonReply

Aimee

I got my tracking on the 17th saying a label had been made but when I looked at the tracking it had been on that status since the 13th. Looked again today and still nothing that’s 5 days just sitting there. Of course customer service is no help.

Reply ButtonReply

Dinah

Well, after my box shipped and had a receive day of the 26th, now it says there is a delivery exception and that my box is damaged and not deliverable. I was excited to receive something and now it looks like I’m actually getting nothing. I am so bummed right now. I just emailed them, so hopefully they can help. What a crazy month.

Mayra21

My tracking finally updated after 5 days.

Mayra21

I received an email saying my box shipped but there has been no updates on the tracking. All it says is label created and that was on the 13th we’re now the 18th and nothing. 😔 I contacted customer service but no response yet.

Reply ButtonReply

Dinah

Mine says exactly the same thing. It has not moved since the 13th. I am most excited about the eyeshadow palette. Whatever else comes in my box, if powder/prep, eyeliner/brow pencil or the body lotion/setting mist I really don’t care. I just hope the shadow pallette doesn’t come smashed.

Amber

Oops *so frustrating

Amber

Same exact thing going on for Me! It’s so frustrated. I had already emailed them about it and said I never received tracking information, so they sent it to me, then emailed back and said that they’re sorry I didn’t receive any tracking information but have “reviewed my shipping history and can see that my July box is currently on its way to me” I guess they don’t realize that I can see for myself that the only thing that has been done is a shipping label was created. I emailed again though, so hopefully they will reply..
