This was my first-ever Brick Loot! From time to time, I use LEGO builds as a break for my mind and eyes since I'm on the computer so often - I haven't done much, but I have built some cool Tie Fighters, and my all-time favorite, Wall-E. With that in mind, I've been curious about this subscription for quite a bit.

Each month is themed - this month is timed with July 4th and is themed "Home of the free, because of the brave".

It will include an information card that details each item and build kit in the box.

WW1 Model T Ambulance - Value $10-15?

This is an exclusive build from Grant Shagoury, and avid historian that puts together custom builds of military items - check out his builds, they are pretty stunning!

The pieces are inside a nice resealable bag - plus, they all LEGO blocks. The outer plastic container is also nice to round up those pesky blocks while you're doing the build.

Each project comes with instructions.

About 15-20 minutes later you'll have your Model T ambulance.

The builds are really manageable when it comes to length of build - everything was done in under 30 minutes - of course, this will take a bit longer if you're doing builds with your kids. But, overall, the final product is really cool.

Mobile Missle Defense - Value $5-10?

The second build is a Brick Loot exclusive build. These do not use LEGO bricks, but I still didn't have any issues with the bricks interlocking - so I was more than satisfied.

Collect your pieces and the instruction, and about 20 minutes later...

It's bombs away with this little mobile unit! My only wish was for a couple extra end cap pieces, my bumbley fingers dropped quite a few! The end product was pretty neat though - and the build was well thought out.

MOC Bomber - Value $5-10? (Here's a similar build, but not as intricate)

The last of 3 build kits is also from Brick Loot - it's a 3-in-1 build - so you can choose your own destiny on what vehicle to build!

I was pretty impressed that you can get 3 entirely different planes out of just these blocks.

You'll get instructions for projects A, B, and C - I went right for the pictured plane, which was build A.

Again, this was a 15-20 minutes build and I thought it turned out rather well! Now you have a ground and air attack!

MEGA Weapons Pack + Crate - Value $5-10?

They've also tossed in a weapons pack and storage crate for your minifigs.

This just pops open, ready to store all of these little weapons.

The pack is full, with 86 different items.

Sticker Sheets - Value $2?

You'll also receive custom sticker sheets for you to modify your vehicles and minifigs.

Wounded Will Minifig - Value $10?

The final item is an exclusive minifig from United Bricks.

This is 'Wounded Will' - ready for air and ground travel in your new vehicles.

It should be noted that this is also a 100% custom LEGO figure - so add him to your collection!

Wonder Woman Art Print - Value $5?

The final item is a square art print from Greg Hyland. It's a fun way to cap off this theme with one of the best movies this year - which also was based during a World War - Wonder Woman!

Verdict: At $33, you're definitely getting that cost back and some more. While I'm not perfectly versed in the value of build kits, both LEGO and non-LEGO - I know that small build kits can range from $8-15 - so I think it's fair to say that you're getting the $33 in value. I thought it was curated and put together well - with this being my first jump into the box, I had no times where I was missing instructions or bricks - that's pretty vital. Overall, I think they do an excellent job!

1. You can estimate the value of a set at 10c/piece (roughly). Hence, a 100-piece LEGO-branded set will be in the range of $10 – more if it’s a hot trend, less if it’s older; and should be way less if it’s off-brand.
2. I always check out these reviews & coupons, thinking one of these days I’m going to get Brick Loot for my 8-year-old son. Now I can safely discard that idea – I would be ANGRY if I received this militaristic bunch of builds. What a misfire (pun intended) – MANY parents do not want their kids playing with guns, even toy guns, even tiny toy guns. If this subscription is aimed at kids, what were they thinking?!
