The Cloth & Paper Stationery Subscription Box is a monthly stationery subscription box from lifestyle and stationery shop, Cloth & Paper.
In addition to the Stationery Subscription Box, Cloth & Paper offers a pens-and-pencils-focused subscription called "Penspiration," as well as a subscription that's the two boxes combined into one.
With the Stationery subscription (what I'm reviewing today), you can expect 5-8 items, including desk items like paper pads, pens, note cards, and journals, as well as some occasional lifestyle goodies. According to their site, this box focuses on much-loved brands, too, including CLEANSE by Lauren Napier, MUSE BEAUTY, Smitten On Paper, Rifle Paper Co, Studio Sarah London, Katie Leamon, Tools to LiveBy, and their own designs.
My Subscription Addiction paid for this box. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

Cloth & Paper has changed their packaging up again this month. This time it came in a nice cloth drawstring bag, which I sadly snipped one of the cords off with scissors while opening. 🙁 It still looks nice, though, so no real harm done.
This month is a collaboration with Misty Copeland, who is a renowned ballet dancer who became the first African American woman to be promoted to principal dancer in American Ballet Theater Company. She also happens to be a writer with three books under her belt (er, tutu?), a public speaker, stage performer, and was named one of the 100 most influential people in the world by Time magazine (2015). So, you know, we are pretty much leading parallel lives...
The info card lists out all of the items in the box. You'll start to see how it all comes together in a few moments!
Ballerina Body by Misty Copeland - Value $20.00 on Amazon (retail price $30.00)
At first I was like "Hmmm. A book about a ballerina in this subscription?", but as soon as I cracked it open to see what it was all about, I was on board. This hardcover book is 219 pages long and includes a wealth of different info on how to "Dance and eat your way to a leaner, stronger, and more graceful you", written by this month's collaborator: ballerina, Misty Copeland.
Misty breaks it down into three sections; the first being "Mind". In this section, she talks about her childhood and how she started in ballet; getting inspired by setting goals, and keeping motivated; and how to listen to your inner voices to keep on track, as well as self-care.
The second section tackles "motion", and is the most obvious topic for a ballerina to write about. Here she shares everything from easy daily stretches and small ways to note breathing and posture, to legit ballerina moves (spanning from floor exercises to standing poses).
The third, last, and largest section is obviously my favorite, since it talks about FOOD. Not just healthy ballerina-approved recipes, but a wealth of information about nutrition, and even specific grocery lists and daily meal plans!
After just skimming this book, I'm really geeked on diving into this full force to see if I can pick up just a fraction of her lifestyle. I hadn't heard of Misty before, but she is certainly on my radar now as a total badass woman.
8 x10 Gold Foil Wall Print - Value $15.00? (I estimated the value using Etsy)
Misty's quote "Decide what you want. Declare it to the world. See yourself winning." is something we all need to commit to memory as a go-to mantra. Cloth & Paper has put it in gold foil on a pale pink print to remind you wherever you'll see it most. I don't know about you all, but the first part is what I have the hardest time with! Hopefully some meditation can help with that one. 😉
"Be Fierce" Blank Notebook - Value $9.99? (I checked out Cloth & Paper's own shop to estimate a value here)
In the first section of Misty's book, she suggests keeping a journal to track your progress. Whether you have good or bad days, writing it all down; to let it out, or to reflect on later, is important to your transformation. The positive message on the front to "Be Fierce" helps you stay motivated to keep making progress, no matter how small.
Recipe Cards (12 pack) - Value $8.90? (Again, estimated by using the Cloth & Paper site)
The last item in this month's stationery box are double sided pale pink recipe cards with gold foil. If you see a great recipe you'll use a lot in Misty's book, you can jot it down on one of these 12 cards to store in the kitchen so you don't have to get your book full of food debris. The gold foil makes them extra special!
Verdict: I was skeptical of the collaborator for this month's Cloth & Paper Stationery Box, but it all started to make more sense once I leafed through her book and saw how the paper goods all tied together. Even if these items don't hit the nail on the head for me, they are all beautifully designed and could be used for gifts. I am definitely holding on to the book though! There is a lot of great info in there that I'm excited to have in one place, even if I'm unsure that I have the discipline it takes to ever have a ballerina's body. I estimate the items included to be around $54.00, which is well above the $38.00 price tag (which includes free shipping). I'm still loving the selection they have to offer and eagerly await to see what comes next month.
