Each quarter will be themed - I'm not sure if it will only revolve around characters, but I could also see DC events and story arcs as possibilities! The Summer box starts where a DC box has to start (in my opinion): Batman!
It comes with an information card that details the items in your box. Everything your see in this box was made exclusively for World's Finest: The Collection!
Wayne Industries Shirt - Value $15?
Oh my - what a shirt! I love pretty much everything about this shirt - from the more subtle approach to a Batman shirt to the sharp edge of the log - very Batman from the DC Rebirth Era!
It's a 60/40 cotton/polyester blend. It fits nicely - but I'd call it more of a slim-fit than a relaxed fit - that said, I'm wearing it now and it is super comfy, too!
Batman Vinyl Figure - $15-20?
For me, the highlight of this new subscription is the all-exclusive 1/12 scale collectible figure line - and it starts with Batman.
If you're familiar with the DC Collectibles figure lines than you'll recognize that the packaging is very familiar! But, this one actually provides a little background for your figure.
You can display it as a shadow box or even invert this to make the art work stand out a bit more - but it's all about the figure anyway, so here's a better look!
The painting and detail work is well done - I think it'll definitely help that they're getting the green light from DC for these figures - so I expect everything to be top notch!
I'm also loving the cape flowing over the shoulder - it's a look I don't see too too often in figures and statues - although I'm sure there are a few in the Black and White Batman line.
The figure is about 6.5 inches tall and can be displayed with, or without, the base. Here's a peek at Batman next to some of my DC Collectibles figures (yep, I'm a big fan of the Greg Capullo era!) - as you can see, these figures are just a tad smaller than the height of DC's figure line - and without the articulation.
Batarang Push Pins - Value $15?
These are just so cool! At first, I thought it was a steelcase for a Batman DVD, but I was SO pleasantly surprised to find two Batarangs waiting for me!
Pull them apart to reveal push pins - It'll give that Batarang attack look to the dullest of notes.
Grappling Hook Umbrella - Value $15-20?
You have your Batarangs, now you need your grappling gun!
I can't really think of a better use of the grappling gun for an everyday object - very smart idea with his umbrella!
It opens up to reveal the Bat logo on an all-black umbrella.
Smoke Grenade Travel Mug - Value $20-25?
Next up in Batman's arsenal are his smoke bombs - his little disappearing act necessity.
They went for the grenade look with the handle and base - the base is a super nice rubber that definitely will secure your drink from sliding anywhere.
The mug itself is a nice thermal mug - ready for your morning coffee.
Batman Poster - Value $10-15?
I typically value art prints as $10 in geek boxes, but this one is of a higher quality, so I'm betting it'll be more around the $15 price point in value.
It's an 8x12 inch print on a very thick cardstock.
It's got a great look at the current Dark Knight!
Gotham City Police Department Dossier: Joker and Two-Face - Value $15-10?
This is a fun and unique collectible!
Each dossier contains a mini 5x7 inch dossier that is accompanied by the villains' calling card - in this case, Two-Face's coin!
And the Joker card for The Joker himself! As a not - this card is actually a very thick display piece - it feels like a hard plastic, so it'll display nicely with my DC stuff!
Emblem Patches - Value $10?
You'll also get two iron-on patches to take the Bat on the go!
Each patch measures just about 2x4 inches.
Wayne Industries Utility Card - Value $5?
The final item in the box is a multi-tool because if there was ever a box that a multi-tool card deserves to be in, it's probably a Batman box!
There's nothing too special here - but everything is better with the Bat logo anyways!
Verdict: This is the kind of box I've been waiting for! As a statue and figure collector, I love the aspect that guarantees me a new and exclusive line to collect. As a Batman and DC fan - I am loving all of this stuff - it was a fun and unique spin to take Batman's arsenal and turn it into an everyday item, it makes me so anxious to see where they take this subscription for the Fall!
Oh - you can STILL get this box at the time of this review - so grab it before it's gone!
