This month's box comes with a sweet thank you note from FanMail's founders. June's theme is "Just For Laughs."
An info carding depicting The Office's Dunder Mifflin office building doubles as an art print. I've watched the show off and on, but I'm no superfan. Though I do notice that the artist is listed as Pam Beesly, a character from the show.
The back of the card not only lists out the products and theme of the box, but it also recommends fan-fave books, comics, TV shows, and movies to look out for in the coming months.
This box also comes with tons of FanMail swag, likely in celebration of the 2 year anniversary noted in their thank you card.
This tote bag is cute, durable, and a standard tote size.
Some cool white shades with UV protection sport the FanMail logo on their temple.
You also receive a couple stickers, a pen, and a pin to show off that you're a FanMail fan!
Onto the main event!
Exclusive "Parks & Rec" Pawnee Goddesses Shirt by FanMail
Show how "freaking awesome!" you are with this Parks & Rec tee. If you're unfamiliar, The Pawnee Goddesses are a troop led by Leslie Knope (Deputy Director of the Parks and Recreation Department of Pawnee, Indiana) and created when girls were told that they could not join the boys-only Pawnee Rangers.
This is my first FanMail box, but it was definitely cool to see something as substantial as a shirt in there. I received a size M.
Exclusive "Broad City" Enamel Pin by FanMail
Yas, yas, yas, YAS! So happy that Broad City is represented in this box. It's definitely the one show in recent years that has consistently made me laugh, and I have so much respect for Abi Jacobson and Ilana Glazer. Can't wait for season 4!
This pin is on the larger side at around 2 inches across. Its design is the Comedy Central show's logo from the series' opening sequence, and I love the colors so much.
The pin's backing appears to be pretty secure. I had no issue with affixing it to my thick denim jacket.
Exclusive Mini-Size "The Princess Bride" Miracle Max Candle By CalliopeCandleworks
Billy Crystal is one of the best parts of The Princess Bride for me, so I love that his role as miracle worker/medicine man Miracle Max is honored in this candle. So cool.
The front label is SO GOOD. "For when you need a miracle! Up to and including 'mostly dead' resurrection!" I immediately had the urge to rewatch The Princess Bride for, oh, the 87th time upon reading that line.
The candle's scent is described as sandalwood with a hint of chocolate, and that is entirely accurate. Maybe there's a bit more chocolate than a hint, though -- it's pretty evenly balanced with the sandalwood. The wick seems to burn evenly and slowly too. Can't wait to light this up next time I'm in need of an urgent supernatural occurrence.
Exclusive "Mean Girls" Burn Book by FanMail
Now that Mean Girls is a bonafide teen movie classic and I officially feel old, it's nice to see that it's still a favorite that's making an appearance in this box.
This notebook is pretty standard. All the pages are blank so that you can find some solace in freely adding terrible jabs about everyone you know! Or you could just use it for your grocery lists -- also a solid plan.
"Friends" Greeting Card Set by Temporary Places
I was a total Friends fan back in the day, and I know that many of my friends love Friends (hah), so I'm excited to send these cards for birthdays and other events.
There are 4 to the set. Maybe it's the illustration style of the couch, but it took me a minute at first to get the reference here. Once I did, though, I was loving it.
"Psych" Celebration Kit by FanMail
I'm not acquainted with the show Psych, so these stickers went over my head.
In my quick research, I came to found that a pineapple is depicted in each episode of Psych. Mysterious!
Exclusive "The Office" Dunder Mifflin Travel Mug By FanMail
Bringing it back to The Office with this awesome travel mug. This is one of those conversation pieces that other Office fans will immediately recognize. It's a nice large size too!
Verdict: FanMail is a great box for those whose fandoms spans a wide range of shows and stories. This one happened to align with my familiarities and interests, for the most part, but some of the more obscure or comics-oriented boxes would not be for me. The value of each box is hard to estimate since there are so many exclusive pieces. Since the box is $21.99, each of the 8 main items average to be around $2.75. Add the extra FanMail anniversary swag, and this box is for sure worth its cost. I would probably pay a few dollars for items like the candle and the Broad City pin on my own. And, really, where else can you find this kind of stuff unless you know exactly where to look?! This box is full of those unique nice-to-haves that totally delight when it hasn't been your day, your week, your month, or even your year.
