(FYI – Just like BirchboxIpsy sends out many different variations of their bag each month – so my review is just one of the bag variations you might receive!)

Ipsy’s theme for this month is ‘Over Easy’. Loni, the editorial director of Ipsy, explained in their app that she has been a workaholic lately and she thought that everyone should slow down and take care of themselves more. I couldn’t agree more with that!

I know that not everyone will like this character bag, especially when that character is a lazy egg, but I love it! I find this mascot weirdly cute (or kimo-kawaii - in Japanese). Plus, how adorable that the zipper has a word ‘meh...’ on it and shaped like a speech bubble!

Now, onto the items!

Ciate London -  Wonderwand Gel-Kohl Hybrid Liner in Black - 2.8 oz. Value $10

This eyeliner is double ended, with a pencil liner on one side and a blending brush on the other, so that you can create both sharp or smudge looks. This creamy and pigmented liner doesn’t dry down instantly, so it’ll give you some time to work with, however, once it dries down, it won’t smudge at all. I had it on for about 6 hours today and it was on point until I removed it.

Seraphine Botanicals - Lychee + Gold FULL SIZE! Value $14

Another full sized item? Yes, please! Seraphine Botanicals is a new brand for me, but I think the color of this blush is GORGEOUS! This blush is made with 99% natural ingredients, Vegan, Gluten-free, Cruelty-free, and formulated without mineral oil, Parabens, or Phthalates. I love that their box is printed with soy ink, too!

This blush is a combination of peach pigment and gold shimmer, aka - perfection. The shimmer is fine and looks natural when applied on skin, and it lasts a long time, too. It’s definitely my favorite item from this month’s Ipsy bag.

Winky Lux - Double Matte Whip in Angel Food, 1.8 ml Value $6

This whipped liquid lipstick is Cruelty-free, Paraben-free, and Gluten-free, plus it’s enriched with avocado oil and vanilla. Even though it dried down matte, my lips didn’t feel dry at all. The lasting power is also impressive, pretty much 6+ hours even after dinner. Did I mention that it also smells soooo good?

OFRA Cosmetics - Eyeshadow in Gold Rush, 2g Value $7.50

Although this eyeshadow is only about half the size of OFRA’s full-size ones, it’s still as big as normal Colourpop and Makeupgeek eyeshadows. The pigment is intense, and I love this warm golden brown shade! It went on well even without primer and lasted a long time on my oily lid. Nothing to complain about!

Hempz - Ultra Moisturizing Herbal Lip Balm FULL SIZE! Value $9

Yay for another full-sized item in my glam bag! This balm is a blend of hemp seed oil, shea butter, and avocado oil. It has a light minty-citrus scent. The product worked well and didn’t leave my lips feeling sticky afterward, but there’s nothing really special about it.

Here is the look I completed using everything from my July Ipsy bag. I can only show you half of my face because I have a stye on my other eye at the moment and I didn’t want to put anything on it. That eyeshadow is pigmented though!

Verdict: This box has a value of about $47, which is on the higher side of Ipsy! I received 3 full-size products in this bag, and I love that I can create a full-face makeup look out of these items! Every shade I received worked with my skintone and they all go well together, too. Great job, Ipsy!

Jira, just wanted to let you know how beautiful I thought you looked with all the products. It really was a reminder to let go and have fun with what you have. I really needed this. Thank you!!

I got this same bag and I love it. I actually think my favorite item is the hempz lip balm though. It is super moisturizing and lasts for a really long time on my lips!

Jolene

I was not excited for the Gudetama bag at all, but i like it soooo much more in person. The bag is shimmery and then Gudetama is matte, and it is so cute. Love.

Michelle

Same here. I think maybe the overall quality of Ipsy bags is improving? I love that the bag is lined and the outer fabric and zipper are sturdy and don’t feel cheap.

Zoe

I totally agree. I wasn’t necessarily loving the bag this month but, when I got it in person I really loved it. The quality was nice and I liked how his behind was on the back of the bag. The zipper was sturdy and the matching yellow liner was great.

Kaitlynn Marie

I’m in love with Seraphine Botanicals! I’m getting that blush and I’m so happy! I’m not a huge fan of the bag design, but the items this month are pretty much a hit for me 🙂

Korey

I saw on instagram, some people received gold bags instead of the usual pink. Anyone know why?

Reply ButtonReply

Jenn

I got a gold bag also, I figured it was because of the theme?

Reply ButtonReply

vanessa

I got a gold bag. It was the usual Ipsy bubble mailer, just gold.

We are bag twins!!! xx

We’re bag twins!!

Any insight on what the Winky Lux smells like? Scented lip products drive me crazy, so I’m trying to figure out whether or not to swap before I open it!

Shay

Enjoyed your review Jira, especially your experience with the Ofra eyeshadow, which is probably the only item in my bag I could do without.

Alex

I got my bag today and its different. I got:

Rainforest of the sea deep dive (I requested it)
Iby crease brush
Chella Taupe eyebrow cream
Seraphine blush in Ginger+Gold
Trestique mini concealer stick in porcelain

I actually love everything. This might be my favorite bag ever (I love Gudetama!) And I love all my products. 🤗

I looked at all of July’s product and there are so many products I want.

I like the character bag, too, but I’m a kawaii junkie, so. I’m having my second childhood.

I am looking forward to my bag, even though I’m not super excited about all the products (go go Tarte cleanser though!!!), and I wish it would ship NOW. :p

When they released the spoilers for July it was looking like such a good month, but that was no the case.
In my first bag I’m getting
1. Jersey Shore Cosmetics Mandarin Green Orange & Ginger Mongongo Lip Conditioner
I have a balm from them that I adore. I just hope the ginger isn’t too strong. I hate that smell.
2. Londontown USA Lakur Enhanced Colour by Londontown-I opted out of nail polish. Got one in may even though I opted out forever in April, emailed them again and I’m getting another one.
3. OFRA Cosmetics ‘Gold Rush’ or ‘Victory’ Eyeshadow
I love Ofra but these colors just are not fun
4. tarte cosmetics Rainforest of the Sea™ deep dive cleansing gel
YES! This is the item i requested. I adore Tarte.
5. Seraphine Botanicals Lychee + Gold
This has the potential to be cute.

In bag two I’m getting
1. Beaute Basics TRAVEL FACE BLENDER in LIGHT PINK-I love by beauty blender but i love trying alternatives
2. COUGAR Beauty Products 24 Hour Liquid Lipstick in Mulberry
I like liquid lipstick, but not this color. I’ve tried colors like it before and never have I once reached for them
3. Ciaté London Wonderwand Gel-Kohl Hybrid Liner in Black
Wow another black liner to add to my mound of black liners
4.TONYMOLY I’m Real Sheet Masks in Green Tea and Lotus
The other item I requested.
5. OFRA Cosmetics ‘Gold Rush’ or ‘Victory’ Eyeshadow
Hopefully they’re different colors, but still not fun colors.
I total theres five items that I’ll keep the rest will go up for swaps or be given away
I can’t say that 5/10 is good

I think my favorite thing this month is the bag itself! And I actually like all the items inside, but I usually am at least open to them. The only thing that’s not a total hit for me is the Ofra eyeshadow, and that’s just because I find it easier to keep track of stuff that comes in its own package, not that I have to stick in a random palette with other stuff. Makes it hard to know what brand and shade it is if I want to repurchase later.

JuJu

Wow, I just realized my Ipsy bag retail value this month is over $100!

I am getting:
– 111SKIN Space Defence Bright Eye Gel
– tarte cosmetics Rainforest of the Sea™ deep dive cleansing gel
– OFRA Cosmetics ‘Gold Rush’ or ‘Victory’ Eyeshadow
– So Susan Blender Brush
– Trifle Cosmetics Raspberry Ripple – Ombré Radiance Blush Palette

Will swap most of it, though. 🙂

You can also see it in the Ipsy app.

Almost bag twins! I’m getting the TonyMoly sheet masks instead of the Winky Lux lippie.

Carlak

Nice bag!! I would have loved this one!!

Ash

I’m getting the same eye shadow, a brush, the tarte cleanser, a browgal pencil and a hand cream — pretty happy!

Jessica

great review on a great bag! I genuinely wish I would get the “good” bags more often from Ipsy… This month I’m getting ponds cold cream and I’m quite discouraged. My Ipsy bags never end up being awesome like the review ones. Ah well.

Reply ButtonReply

Stormy

This is the first good one I have recieved. I got the Tarte bronzer, Ofra shadow, Avene toner, Cougar lipgloss and the iby brush.

Reply ButtonReply

Jessica

Great review! Thank you for teaching us about “kimo-kawaii,” which sounds like the perfect way to describe Gudetama. Hope your eye is feeling better soon.

Jira

Thank you, Jessica. You’re so sweet!

Such a great bag! Love that lippie color and blush altho I can’t wear blush.

Jenn

Kira I know you are a newer reviewerbut I honestly think that your reviews are among my favorite for sure. They’re honest and straight to the point and I love the way that you swatch things that not everyone thinks to swatch.
Keep doing what you do girl and I will keep reading all your reviews. You rock Jira💜💜💜

Jira

Hi Jenn, thank you so much for your kind feedback! This totally make my day! 😍 You’re an angel!

Marion

I like seeing your full face look! It’s a nice reminder how well some of these items go well together. I get frustrated by things like subs sending the same black eyeliner & neutral gold shadow, but you really did get a complete look out of your bag this month.

I’m getting the Winky Lux lip, too, & I’m really excited about it. It’s one of the spoilers I was hoping for!

Michelle

Great review! Thank you for modeling your makeup items!
