We have the spoilers for the Julep Maven July collection! (This collection will be available on the 20th.)

Here are all the new polish colors:

And here are the new beauty item launches:

Like a soft-focus filter for your skin, our new Insta-Filter Invisible Finishing Powder melts so seamlessly on all skin tones, leaving a natural, “un-powder” HD finish.

It instantly mattifies and blurs the look of pores, fine lines, and imperfections, as it sets your makeup—all without the usual telltale signs that you’re wearing powder.

Natural-looking, buildable coverage—how and where you want it. Our multitasking Cushion Complexion makes it easy with a seamless, demi-matte finish that looks like your skin, but better.

Apply just where you need it with the convenient cushion-tip applicator, or all over as a buildable medium-to-full coverage foundation. Just dab and blend with your fingers, and go! A little goes a long way.

Available in 18 true-to-you shades, this versatile formula concealscorrectsilluminatesblurs, and brightens (a long-term benefit of Turmeric Extract). Who says you can’t have it all?

And we have nail decals this month, too:

1 – LOVING these polish colors! Beautiful! Best yet since I’ve been a subscriber!

2 – About the “Cushion Complexion” stuff, is this a concealer or a foundation on the go? Not quite sure what it is supposed to be. Also, what happens if the one they send is the wrong shade for your skin tone? Can they exchange it? How does that work, anyone know?

I got correct shade using their questionnaire. I use it as foundation by dotting and blending. But it works great as a concealer.

I took the plunge on the Cushion Complexion last month and I really, really like it. I’m very pale and was worried it would be too dark but it’s actually perfect. A couple months ago Julep solicited feedback on instagram for what people weren’t finding out there for concealer options/formulas and that complaint was a common one; it seems like they listened. I would call the formula a medium coverage – it blends well but covers my under eye circles pretty well. I don’t like a full face of foundation and find it covers my trouble areas without making me feel like I’m wearing a mask. It sets well with powder and a few different primer formulas. Hope that’s helpful?

I *LOVE* this months colours. I’m going to need to buy another new case to keep all my nail polishes in LOL.

I really love how I can customize their boxes. And they offer coupons often enough that I can buy the stuff that you can’t sub in monthly boxes for reasonable prices outside of them.

Magdalene (the blue) and Wilma (the lightest color polish, on the bottom) are re-releases. Daylee (the gold) is very similar to last year’s Leo polish. This year’s Leo is an icy lemon. Jonna (the green) is fairly similar to “Francine.”

I noticed that too Melissa

Sigh…I think I’m doing this.

This month doesn’t seem that interesting to me. I already have a really similar blue. And I got the cushion concealer and pressed powder on previous boxes. I might make this the first month I skip.

How is the Cushion Complexion? Did the color match your skin well?

Hillary

I looked through all of them really really closely. I also remembered that I’m the oh so flattering color name of “camel” in a different brand, so I went with it. I’m very pleased.

I’m loving this collection! I haven’t taken a box in a few months, but will quite possibly be upgrading to the whole thing for August…………

I don’t need more purple polish. I don’t need more purple polish. I don’t need more purple polish. Ughhhhh. So pretty though.

Michelle

will I be able to try that powder and foundation stick if I sign up now? will it still be open in aug.?? Thanks!

justmissjamey

yes..you always get to customize your box..(3 items) andbthen add on, or skip a month or whatever. i have only been there for 4 months now, and noticed you can go back a few months and pick up products too…if you do sign up, make sure (even if you like the 3 items in your box) to swap all 3 items out and just go throw the list of items they have for you to add in…if you just take one, or two items out you might miss out on something and its a cool way of checking out your options. Also, each month you decide to get a box, you earn points , and those points can be used for products, or a free box.
Side note : I wish that when you buy items or even add ons that you earn points as well, and not just for the monthly box.

I’m kind of annoyed with Julep right now – I’m on the 3 month reoccurring subscription with them but haven’t taken a box in months and didn’t have any boxes available so I would be recharged next time I took one. However, I had enough Jules for a free box so I tried snagging a July box with those, and they still tried charging me for another three months. Luckily my CC had just been replaced so the billing info wasn’t correct.

Why am I being charged for another three months when the box I’m getting has zero cost because of my Jules? Frustrating.

I haven’t been taking boxes because I feel like their colors have been so repetitive. That green looks identical to Shay, the blue looks like Danielle, the purple is comparable to Jolie and Morgan…there’s just no originality with their colors anymore. I don’t want to buy another three months, but I should be able to exchange my Jules!

Reply ButtonReply

Tracey

Then don’t do a three month renewal, do a month to month instead. That’s what I do, and I can use my Jules anytime for a free box, with no issues.

Reply ButtonReply

Jen

Just a heads up… It’s stated on their site that the Jules for a free box cannot be done for a prepay subscription. You can, however, call them and have them switch you to the monthly subscription model just long enough to use your Jules, then call them again and switch back.

Yes, it would be less annoying if I could change subscription options on their site or if they would just let all Maven’s use the free box option regardless of which subscription model they use, but it’s not something new or even an error. They specifically state that on their site. I’m not looking at the page right now, but if I remember correctly, it’s on the page where you select the option to use your Jules once you’re done customizing your box.

I’m sorry that happened to you Amber P. I’m a bit leery of paying in advance to any of these subscription companies because of errors like that.

I do want to be clear that I do love Julep’s products. I have over 100 of their polishes (which is why I can name off dupes so easily, hah) and they are the best polishes in my collection as far as staying power and formula, but their billing is difficult to deal with.

Buyer beware: If you take advantage of one of their deals (like the 12 polish deal) you’re paying for 3 months in advance ($20 a box) and you’re locked into that, so every time you take 3 boxes and you go to take a 4th you’re charged another $59.99. I don’t think they make that clear when you are signing up (it was surprise to me the first time for sure). I’ve yet to find a way to easily switch to a month to month ($24.95/mo) subscription. It is easy to skip months, it’s great to completely customize your box, but it’s frustrating to have to pay for 3 months at a time (like you I don’t like paying for months in advance) and even more upsetting that I have to spend another $60 to use my Jules. Billing management shouldn’t be so difficult.

Jennifer

I need those nail stickers! I might get the face powder, too.

Jewel tones? Shimmery?? Holographic and/or duotone?! YES PLEASE!! My mouth is seriously watering! Not that I’d drink nail polish… maybe my eyes sent the tears of joy to my mouth? Anyway, for the first time in my 18 or so months of being a Maven, I NEED every. single. one. of these polishes… thank goodness (and generous parents, including in-laws) I got lots of birthday money.

I’d totally resub years after quitting just to try their shower oil, but it’s not on their site anymore. Rave reviews everywhere too. Anyone know if they’re bringing it back? I think it was called “Rethink your shower oil” or something similar. Discontinued? Anyone?? Anyone?? ……………Bueller?

Reply ButtonReply

Joy

Hi! I replied to this but my comment is not showing up for some reason. Apologies if this ends up being a double post!

I found the shower oil for you on QVC: http://www.qvc.com/Julep-Rethink-Your-Shower-Hydrating-BodyCleansing-Oil.product.A340065.html

It’s more expensive than Maven pricing but it’s actually available!

Joy

They are pretty inconsistent with their product offerings. I’ve noticed that certain products I love will randomly disappear and appear at a later point (I’m looking at you, pedi cream!).

I found the product for you on QVC: http://www.qvc.com/Julep-Rethink-Your-Shower-Hydrating-BodyCleansing-Oil.product.A340065.html

It’s expensive as all get-out compared to Maven pricing ($38 on QVC) but it’s available for you if you’re dying to get it 🙂

I’ve been keeping an eye out for their glycolic hand scrub. I love that stuff!!! But, sadly I think they discontinued it. I always feel like once I find an HG in a given category, the brand goes and discontinues it. 🙁

Reply ButtonReply

Shelby

Looks like it is discontinued. I think you’d need to call customer setvice to get the full scoop on that product.

Stormy

I signed up on July 15th. Does anyone know what box I’ll get box I’ll get first? And does anyone do the polish only box?

Reply ButtonReply

Shelby

On the 20th, the edit options open for August’s box. You’ll have through the 24th to custom-tailor your box. They start to mail them out on the 27th. If you sign up after the 24th, you’ll have to wait for September’s box.

You get to design your box any way you want, but there’s a cost cap, so as you add items to your box, you will see items disappear from the list from which you make your selections. If you add item B and item C suddenly disappears, then you’ll have drop an item (or more) from your box to make item C show up again.

I hope that made sense.

Does anybody know how it would turn out if I put a matte top coat on the green polish? I’m not sure if it would work right.

Michelle

Oh man, according to my budget I need to skip Julep this month, but I LOVE those decals. Maybe they will still be available after August??

Marion

I’m sure they will be, even if it takes a few months.

If I join today, will I get sent a box from July or will my first box be August?
