Pure Smile Toner
The packaging of this toner kind of threw me off at first. It totally looks like contact lens solution, right? I tested all products in this month's Kira Kira Crate while I was away for a long weekend trip. Since all of my toiletries were laid out together on a small Airbnb sink, I found myself being a bit paranoid that I'd accidentally soak my contacts in toner overnight. So, maybe keep this stuff separate from your eye care products if you use them.
The toner itself is fantastic. I squirted a little bit on a round cotton pad and applied morning and night. After a couple of days, I noticed that my skin seemed to be smoother and more radiant. Toner is one of those skincare steps that always escapes my routine after a few days, so I'm going to make a conscious effort to stick with it this time.
Fluffy Milky White Headband
This headband is so fluffy and soft to the touch. Even though it did feel a bit silly to wear, it also made me feel like I was in a spa. In a small way. The bow portion is easy to remove (just pull the fabric out of the loop), so I may do that so that the headband is a tad less hindering. Leave it if you're super kawaii! I wore this headband in the bath while applying one of the Pure Smile face masks below, and it did the trick to keep hair out of my face.
Hello Kitty x Doraemon Lip Cream
I was really happy with how moisturizing this lip balm is, and you can't help but smile at the adorable packaging. A cute conversation starter every time you reapply!
Magic Lip Tattoo
Of all the products included in this month's Kira Kira Crate, I was most excited to try this one. I had heard of different lip tattoo treatments and was intrigued. This peel off lip tint boasts staying power of up to 12 hours.
The consistency of this product is quite thick and sticky. Due to its viscosity, applying straight out of the tube takes some finesse. I sort of just glopped it on as thick as I could since the directions state that, "the thicker it is the easier it will be to peel off!" It feels tight and tacky as it dries, but you're free to peel off 10-15 minutes later. What's left behind is a bright but very natural stain. Very cool. I topped it with the Hello Kitty Lip Cream and was good to go!
While I really enjoyed the way this lip tattoo looked on my lips, it was definitely a process to get there. This may be more of a 'special occasion' type of lip product rather than one for everyday wear, but the results are both pretty and long lasting. I got a good 4-5 hours out of one application, and that included lots of eating and drinking.
Hydrogen Spa Bath Ball
Yesss! I love bath bombs! This one came in super handy on my trip as I used it after a long day of walking and not feeling too hot. Its magnesium hydroxide is said to relieve stress and muscle aches, improve circulation, moisturize irritated or acne/eczema-prone skin, and relieve headaches. I used it in a warm bath when I was experiencing a pretty mild headache, some swelling, and severe nausea, and I have to say that I emerged from that bath feeling refreshed. Not 100%, but this bath bomb definitely helped me to relax my muscles and mind.
Pure Smile Milky Essence Sheet Masks (Vitamin & Royal Jelly)
I was really happy to see some sheet masks in this month's box! You receive two varieties in June's Kira Kira Crate: Vitamin and Royal Jelly. Both focus on hydration and combatting dry, dull skin. I used the Royal Jelly mask before bed and massaged the excess liquid into my face to work some magic overnight (after the 15 minutes that I had the sheet applied, of course), and I awoke to really bright skin. Love!
Verdict: I thoroughly enjoyed this month's Kira Kira Crate, and it felt really special to try some Japanese beauty products that are otherwise not readily available to me. The masks and toner are probably my favorite items, but finally trying out a peel off lip tattoo was a highlight in its own right! At $29.00, I believe Kira Kira Crate to be a really amazing value considering all of the full-size products you receive. Try it out if you're a beauty or skincare lover!
