Every month has a different theme, and July's theme was Animation. It features franchises like Bob's Burgers, TMNT, Rick and Morty, and Futurama!
One of the things I like about Loot Crate is how they use their boxes. While they're pretty plain on the outside, they always transform into something fun when you invert them!
You'll always get an information booklet that details the month's items.
Gene Pin - Value $5?
I love every Belcher family member, so I don't think I could choose a favorite - but when Gene is in the burger costume and/or Beefsquatch - it typically turns out to be some of my favorite episodes!
This month's bonus loot scores you digital items for the Animation Throwdown game:
$ Bobs'y Burgers cards, 600 gems, and 6 speed-ups, to be exact.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Turtle Van Shirt - Value $15?
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles have always held a special place in my heart, and the turtle van is a big part of that. It was my go-to toy back in the day - and I still own one of them!
Here's a closer look at the turtle van. This might be my favorite Loot Crate shirt!
Rick and Morty "Peace Among Worlds" Figure - Value $20?
This is the statue that I was eagerly awaiting! Not only is it Rick and Morty, but it's also the first-ever Loot Crate made figure!
The packaging gives a few more details about the episode.
They pulled Rick right from the episode!
Only a few more days until season three!!
Quality-wise - I'm thinking this gets a 7 out of 10 for two reasons - there was a major nick taken of my figure's chest that you can see here, a big no-no for collectors. The second reason is that I thought the platform didn't match the quality of the figure - that's kind of nitpicking, but I'm a big statue/figure collector, so I'm nitpicky 🙂
They totally nailed Rick with the sculpt and paint job - plus, the figure itself feels well made and is sturdy enough to stand without the stand - so if you're nitpicking the stand like me, you have the option to remove it. Putting this side-by-side (without the stand) to the articulated Rick by Funko, Loot Crate's wins for me - hands down.
Bob's Burgers Recipe Cards in a Box - Value $15?
I actually thought this was a book when spoilers leaked on Instagram, but these are recipe cards.
There are 25 recipes to get you cooking!
The reverse side of the card has an image as well - most involve the characters, and are definitely frameable quality.
And then, of course, the recipe! Keep your box - these can be popped into the box right below where it says "Burger of the Day"!
Slurm Koozies 2-Pack - Value $10-15?
This is my dark horse favorite item of the month!
I love that it's a 2-pack! Of course, I want to share with friends.
For now, I will koozie my La Croix.
Verdict: Without any reservations, this was my favorite month of Loot Crate, ever. I went into this loving every franchise, so my expectations were high - I think every item, from the pin to the koozies were perfectly pulled from the show this month. I'm also excited to see where they go from here with figures - I'm assuming we'll see more and more of Loot Crate made figures, and the quality was really good with their first try. Can we just do an Animation #2 theme for September :)?
What do you think of the July 2017 Animation Loot Crate?
