Merkaela is a seasonal subscription box focused on promoting your spiritual wellness and connection to nature.
Every December, March, June, and September, Merkaela sends its subscribers a package of 7-10 natural body and home items centered around a seasonal theme. According to the Merkaela site, the company uses Alchemy to "activate" their products, meaning you might get additional, unseen benefits from these pretty potions!

This season's theme is "Alive" and features products focused on encouraging presence, confidence, and self-love. As a Leo, I love that this theme coincides with my star sign's summertime reign. Leo is all about being bold, vibrant, and letting your light shine, so this box is a great early birthday gift for me!
As with every Merkaela box, there's also a small affirmation to fit the season's theme. I like that this gift is about the size of a business card, so it's easy to tuck it into a purse or wallet pocket and literally keep it with me wherever I go.
Calendula and Lemon Salt Bath, 8 oz. - Value $14.00?
While this item isn't currently available on the Merkaela site shop, similar bath soaks go for about $14.00. I've been really pleased with my previous Merkaela salt baths—they're super fragrant, but in peaceful, not-overwhelming ways that let you just dissolve into relaxation in the bath. And they last awhile! You only really need about a spoonful to get the relaxing effects. This blend smells like delicious, sweet lemons and wafting, almost herbal wildflower scents. According to the info card, this mixture can help cleanse the aura, support the lymphatic and immune systems, and better your emotional energy, among other things. I just like how it takes my quiet bath moments to the next level. This aromatherapeutic experience is definitely refreshing to the spirit.
Hibiscus Tea Potion, 2 oz - Value $7.70?
I linked to a similar tea since this version isn't available in the site shop. This loose-leaf tea is so pretty! It literally looks like petals picked right from a field and dropped into this tiny tin. The flavor is floral but with a raisin-like note to it. I love the inspiring quote on the lid, too. From the packaging to the products themselves, everything in this box encourages mindfulness.
Jasmine and Palo Santo Meditation Elixir, 2 oz - Value $10.00?
Merkaela doesn't currently have this product or anything quite like it on their site shop, so I just took a guess at the value. This little spray bottle contains a lightweight blend of jasmine, palo santo, and other inspiring ingredients, including something called "Moon Energy"! The idea is to spritz it on your wrists, head, and neck, and let the scent ground you into a serene, confident mood. As the label on the back says, "Unleash your feminine divinity!" Palo santo has a bit of a rubbery scent to it, which is sort of an acquired... scent. Hehe. But after the initial notes, other more floral, woodsy aromas come through, which make sitting on my couch feel more like sitting in a spa.
Peppermint Soap Bar, 3.5 oz - Value $8.50?
Merkaela soaps are typically $8.50, so I listed that value above (this particular one isn't listed yet). I love a nice peppermint soap, especially for morning showers. It's uplifting and awakening. This soap has a creamy consistency for a lovely lather, thanks to its combination of palm, coconut, and olive oils. I always like getting new fun soaps to add to my stash.
Tangerine and Sage Shea Body Butter, 4 oz - Value $10.00?
This item isn't on the site, either, so I just guessed at the value. Wow, is this product ever awesome. This shea butter is lightweight but deeply moisturizing. It goes on butter smooth and soaks in beautifully, making my hands feel like they've just been through a spa treatment. The sage in the mix does give this cream a hint of herby bitterness, but I don't mind it. Merkaela's body butters are some of my favorite products they offer, so I'm thrilled to have a new one for this season! (They last forever, too!)
Sacred Sage Smudge Stick - Value $4.40?
I valued this based on a cedar smudge available on the Merkaela site. I really like the practice of doing smudges and cleansing my space in this atmospheric way. The information card has all the instructions you need to "operate" this smudge the correct way. The sage, on its own smells lovely, but burning, it really does refresh the whole room.
Pink Lemurian Crystal - Value $8.50?
I priced this item based on other crystal products on the Merkaela site. According to the information card, this is an "earth spirit" crystal that encourages connection with spirit guides and angels. There's even a process for how to hold and engage with the crystal to anticipate the arrival of your spirit guides. The crystal I got isn't really pink, but it is crystal clear (pun intended). I like that it has a loop on top so that I can wear it and take it with me. I kind of wish they'd included a chain, but I'm not worried about having to whip something up!
Verdict: I am so delighted with Merkaela! Everything is so high quality, natural, toxin free, and beautifully scented. And they work so well! This shea butter, in particular, is as effective as something I'd nab at Sephora and totally free of weird commercial chemicals. The box costs $58.00, which might seem expensive, but I estimated that there's about $63.00 of value inside. I always look forward to this box, and thus far, it's not let me down. If you're trying to get into the world of natural spiritual and self-care products, this is an amazing place to start!
