I love that they put extra effort into the packaging as well. If you flip the box inside out, it becomes a suitcase!
Adorbs! Kinda wish this was a real suitcase.

The info card this month comes as a row of postcards! Too cute! I love that they are repping many of the old school Sanrio characters in this one!
Lil' Keroppi is about to munch that watermelon, looking so cool in his green shades!
The crab pinching Tuxedo Sam's tail!! I CAN'T!!
I love the scenes of all the characters at the beach on the backside of all the item descriptions.
You can tear off the ends and send as postcards to your friends this summer!
Chococat Beachball Trinket
The first item is a little plastic beachball tag to hang off your bag or suitcase to bring a little fun to your luggage on a roadtrip this summer. Chococat is such a cutie.
Hello Kitty Beach Figure
Next we have a heavy plastic figurine of a translucent Hello Kitty featuring a scene of her wearing some red shades and eating ice cream under the sun. It even has actual sand at the bottom!
This is a really unique type of figure I've never seen before. I'm excited to post this up by my computer to bring some beach vibes inside my office.
Keroppi Charm
Other than the most popular Sanrio character, Hello Kitty, Kerokerokeroppi was my first love back in the late 80's/early 90's. I think he dropped off completely in the 00's and I hardly saw his merchandise at all. I'm so happy to see him represented in this crate, I've missed him so!
This one inch charm is made of enamel and metal, not unlike all the enamel pins out there lately. It has a small clasp you can use to clip him on to anywhere you'd like! I miss the days of cell phones having a little notch for charms, so I will probably have him join my rabbit friend on my keys.
Sanrio Characters Beach Towel
So many old faves repped on this summer-necessary beach towel. This standard-sized (27.5" x 57") towel features My Melody, Chococat, Keroppi, Hello Kitty, and one of my all-time faves, Tuxedo Sam as they frolic on the beach!
That crab is always taunting Tuxedo Sam! Why? Hello Kitty is ready to get in the water with her tube.
Chococat seems to by eyeing up that fish for lunch as My Melody builds a sand castle, and Keroppi relaxes in a hammock.
The quality of this towel is pretty decent, but it is on the thinner side. It's certainly plenty big to plop down and lay out on.
Sanrio Character Beach Tote
I know all I do is talk about "when I was young" and "oh, the memories..." but for real. This tote sent me back to the 80's when I had a tiny little plastic bag like this featuring Tuxedo Sam! It was striped and I think I may have gotten it at a birthday party. This is the big girl version of that beloved tote, and it's perfect for the beach, since it won't get wet and you can easily shake sand out of it!
Chococat! Just eat that fish already!
The bag features the same water scene on both sides and has all the same characters as the beach towel, engaged in a new set of activities.
At 14" tall x 9.5" wide x 3.5" deep, it fits the towel and flip flops from this season's box perfectly! There's still room for a magazine or book as well, and the handles hang about 9" so you can comfortably fit it over your shoulder.
Keroppi Flip Flops
The final summertime item we have are red and blue Keroppi flip flops. Subscribers were asked to enter their size for these to make sure you'd get the right fit. Yay! Keroppi looks so happy splashing around in his tube, surrounded by sea life.
They are really sturdy and the quality seems excellent. The part that Keroppi is featured on is like a swimsuit fabric material. The thong is rubber, and the sole is your basic flip flop foam.
Here's a closer look at the great craftsmanship.
Verdict: Sanrio Small Gift Crate's Summer Box was chock full of awesome stuff that screams to be taken to the beach! All of the items were cohesive and followed the same delightful summer fun vacation theme. I love that they featured many of my old school favorites here, even though I love the newer characters too (Hey, Gudetama!). I will probably get the most use out of the beach towel and bag, as I head to the pool this summer. Every item was designed exclusively for Loot Crate, so it's hard to know what value of each. This crate costs $39.99 ($34.99 plus $5 S/H), so I could easily value each of the larger items (beach towel, bag, flip flops) at $10 each and then the smaller three items at about $3 (give or take) to get break even. Since everything is licensed by Sanrio, I think the items are proably over that, to be honest. I'm excited to see what future seasons hold!!
What do you think of the third Sanrio Small Gift Crate?
