A letter was included listing the items in the box. It also mentioned that the extra item for Magic Plus subscribers was in a separate silver bag.
Disney Plush Tsum Tsum Winnie the Pooh - Value $4.95
Winnie the Pooh is adorable. He measures about 3.5 inches long and is a super soft polyester. He can be stacked with other Tsum Tsums or displayed alone. He’s got an embroidered wink and is filled with little squishable “beans.”
Disney Plush Tsum Tsum Jose the Parrot - Value $4.99
The Magic Plus subscriber extra this month was a second Tsum Tsum. Since the Tsum Tsums are my kids’ favorite items to receive in Walt Life this was great to find a second this month. Jose the Parrot is from Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room an attraction at Disneyland with which I’m not familiar. The kids love getting new Tsum Tsums so they didn’t mind it wasn’t a character they recognized.
Disney Grumpy This Is My Happy Face Glass - Value $8.85
Walt Life lists on their information page as a toothpick holder, but it looks like a shot glass to me. I don’t see why you couldn’t use it as a holder for toothpicks though. One side has a drawing of Grumpy from Snow White and the Seven Dwarves, the reverse side reads: This Is My Happy Face.
Mickey Mouse Washcloths - Value $3.00?
This two-pack of washcloths is poorly constructed with pulls in the fabric and rough, thin material. One washcloth doesn’t even have anything embroidered on it. The second one has a Mickey head shape. I wasn’t impressed with this item at all; it felt cheap.
Britto from Enesco Grumpy Keychain – Value $7.11
This Grumpy keychain was designed by Romero Britto. The keychain measures 4.5 inches tall. It is brightly colored and is well made of a thick rubbery material. I like that it has a loop for attaching keys and also a clip for attaching to your bag. Fun fact: Britto was the official artist of the 2010 World Cup.
Britto from Enesco Grumpy Luggage Tag - Value $13.24
I was surprised to see three items all featuring Grumpy in this box. If you’re not a big Grumpy fan I imagine this box might be a bit of a bust. Luckily we like Grumpy! This luggage tag is huge! It measures about 5 inches and certainly would make your suitcase stand out on the airport carousel.
Disney Postcards - Value $3.00?
Two Disney postcards were included with artwork from the movies. These could, of course, be mailed, but they could also be hung up in your home. We got these same two postcards in our May Walt Life box. With all the Disney postcards out there it’s a shame they couldn’t send something new.
The Walt Life boxes come with a pull-out insert and a small cardboard coin. You can collect the coins and if you spell Walt Life you win a trip to Disney World. Other variations will win other prizes.
Puzzle – bonus
Walt Life included a small Walt Life promotional cardboard puzzle with Toothy on one side and Squeaky on the reverse. They sent this puzzle in my May box too. I’m not sure why they’d keep sending the same puzzle…
Verdict: This July Walt Life box was a mixed bag for us. We enjoyed the Tsum Tsums and Grumpy keychain and luggage tag. The washcloths were a total miss. My concern with Walt Life is that too many of their items seem cheap and not special enough to warrant the price of the box. I would expect the value to be higher than it is as well. The value this month was over $45 with my estimations which almost breaks even with the cost of the box ($48 a month with free shipping). I am hesitant to recommend this subscription at this time, but if you’re a huge Disney fan maybe this is one to keep an eye on as they work out curation and value issues.
