Woman Up Box’s booklet is a glossy, colorful nicely done tri-fold. I was very impressed with how well-thought out the booklet was made. The theme for July was “Hot Fun in the Summertime.”
Each item in the box was photographed in the booklet. There was detailed information offered about each item including the retail price and in some cases websites and information about the woman artisan who created the item.
The back of the trifold showed the Woman Up mascot named Dolly. It also shared the charity selected this summer (Dress for Success Worldwide) that will receive 10% of the Woman Up Box monthly profits. I think it’s wonderful that a box with a mission to lift women up and support women run companies and female artisans also donates a percentage of their proceeds to women-focused charities.
Woman Up Box includes a Lift Up card with ideas for lifting up girls, teenagers, colleagues and even yourself. I enjoyed reading their suggestions.
Good Vibes Only Canvas Tote Bag - Value $12.00
This canvas tote measures about 15 by 12 inches and has a generous strap drop so the bag can easily fit over your shoulders, a must when schlepping a bunch of stuff to the pool and holding your child’s hand! This bag is made by Etsy seller LiveLoveSurvive and she has lots of other great totes and tshirts to check out. I love the bag has a flat bottom and will stand up on its own.
Pineapple Lime Coconut Candle Tin (6 oz.) - Value $9.00
A tropical drink is what this delicious smelling candle reminds me of. The candle comes in a lidded tin and is made of soy wax with a cotton wick.
Coconut Mango Whipped Shea Butter (4 oz.) - Value $12.90
This whipped shea butter smells just as tropical and lovely as the candle. It was very moisturizing, even more than my summer skin needs. I will be saving this for fall when the weather turns cold and my skin inevitably dries out. The scent will be a nice way to bring a touch of summer into autumn.
Goddess Garden Organics Aloe Vera After-Sun Gel Spray - Value $10.99
Well, I know what is going right into the suitcase for upcoming Caribbean vacation. This after-sun spray is a fine mist of aloe to soothe skin that had a bit too much time at the beach or pool. It can also be used as a general moisturizer and has a pleasant light scent. The Goddess Garden Organics line of sunblock and skincare was created by a mom for her daughter. I’m excited to try other products in the line after checking out their website.
Spun Light Watermelon Cotton Candy - Value $3.00
Oh cotton candy, I love you so! One of my all-time favorite sweet treats I was extremely pumped to see cotton candy when I opened up my Woman Up Box. This cotton candy is made in Arizona by a wife and husband team. They offer 60!!! Flavors! The cotton candy was fresh and came in a resealable, recyclable tub. It is vegan and organic, and most of all is very tasty!
Lemon Mint Matė Tea by Flying Bird Botanicals - Value $1.63 (buy a 6-bag tin for $9.75)
An entire tin of Flying Bird Botanicals tea bags was sent in my June Woman Up Box. This individual tea bag isn’t mentioned in the information booklet for July so I am not sure of the flavor. I always like brewing iced tea in the summer so this little extra treat makes me happy!
Green Spiral Knot Hemp Bracelet - $10.00
The hemp bracelet is less sparkly than I typically prefer my jewelry to be, but it reminds me of my laid back college days and for that reason I really like it. The Etsy seller, Serendipity Hemp, donates proceeds of her sales to charities that fund clean drinking water in developing countries. It’s adjustable and has little wooden beads on the ties.
“Hydrate” Water Bottle – Listed Value $15.00
This plastic water bottle is a Woman Up Box exclusive and holds a fairly generous 23 ounces. I like that it has a narrow shape to fit in my car’s cup holder and an easy to clean design. It’s BPA free and a pretty blue color.
Verdict: Nice work, Woman Up Box! I enjoyed the theme and felt they did a great job curating summery items. There was a nice balance of beauty, lifestyle, edible and accessory items. I enjoyed finding so many new women Etsy sellers and woman-owned businesses. I also appreciate their mission to lift women up and give back to charities like Dress for Success. The value this month came to over $74 which is well over the $49.95 monthly cost (free shipping to the US). I am loving this subscription!
