Hi guys! Don’t know if you’ve seen it yet but on page 102 of the new September glamour magazine with Blake lively on the cover, there’s an ad for the full allure September beauty box spoilers. It’s the tarte blush, DE Laos retro whipped cream, mini beauty blender, kiehls eye cream and the item that I think we didn’t have yet the living proof full dry volume blast spray. I also emailed MSA a picture of it in case Liz wants to post the picture it that shows all the items.

Liz, your GIF choices are A+. I’m cracking up over here!

Oops! Wrong post. I means to post that on the “in the news” post.

A 5ml sample is extremely small. Drunk Elephant demands a very high price for their products. I would think they could have. Ren more generous with their sample. After all, it takes a week or so to test a new product.

I’m loving the direction this box is headed! I hope the rest is as good as these first two items! Keep it up Allure!

What are the usual deals for this box? I don’t feel like $5 is great and the pallet doesn’t excite me.

I erally like this blush and want to sign up now, but I feel like I should wait for a better deal than $5?

JuJu

The best deal I’ve seen was the Black Friday deal for $5 off for six months, but then the boxes got so bad that even at $10 (plus tax) a month they seemed worthless (to me). Now Allure seems to be getting back on track with the quality of curation.

But it’s never more than $5 off.

I have never seen more that $5 off. At the end of the year they were offering 3 or 4 months for $10 each, but they don’t discount more than that. Birchbox and I think Sephora Play is $10 per month, but you never get full size, they are all samples. Allure box gives at least one full size per box and they have a different array of brands.

When I signed up, I just got 5.00 off with no freebie.

What Month did you subuscribed.

Jessica

I totally caved. I really want the blush. I will take my chances on the color. I tried allure last year and was not impressed, but I’ve really been liking the last several boxes I’ve seen reviewed. So hopefully that trend with continue…

You can get 5ml of product just by going into Sephora and asking for a sample of it and they’ll give you some in a sample pot probably half or almost as much as 5ml. You’re welcome lol. 🙂

Sadly this Drunk Elephant will be gifted. I have oily/combo skin & I don’t use moisturizers in jars. I was hoping they packaged it differently.

Jennifer Pursley

I have oily skin as well and I got this in a Sephora Play box and really liked it…you can always use at night or save it for the winter months when your skin might be less oily…it’s a really nice moisturizer! 😉

Alex

I would gladly swap or purchase it from you!

Barb

The little sample is worth $6. Not bad for the second spoiler of a $15 box. I’m looking forward to trying the product.

Sara

I subbed last month just so that I would get August and September’s boxes. I couldn’t chance not subbing until August and then not getting a box.

Reply ButtonReply

Karla

I just subscribed yesterday. When do I receive my first box?😬

Laura

They have been charging accounts around the 8th or so, and then you get the box about a week later. You will get a shipping email and it seems to arrive pretty fast depending on where you are.

Skimbogirl81

They released these spoilers back in June. The next two are Kiehl’s midnight recovery eye cream and a micro beauty blender. I’ve been really happy with this box so far. I’m hooked on the YSL touché eclat primer they sent in June and the BFR lip scrub from last month. And I’ve heard really good things about the Tarte blush. I’m just hoping I don’t get one of the darker colors that I won’t be able to wear.

Reply ButtonReply

AngieH

I love that YSL primer too! If you do get one of the darker color for the blush you can also use it as a contour. I have a few of the darker colors but I’m pretty fair skinned, they blend nicely if you contour with it.

I lover the lip scrub, I usually whip up my own but the clove and whatever else is awesome

SBR

Just saw in Glamour that a 5th item is a Living Proof item

AmySoup777

Ohhh thank you SBR!! 🙂

vanessa

Right?! They need to focus on releasing Oct-Dec spoilers, not telling us what we already know 😑

Ana

I got the Tarte blush from Sephora as my bday gift… I love it! And since it was a mini I’m psyched to get the full size 🤗

Carolina

Excited for this box!

I have the 5ml and it’s lasted me over a month haha. I still have about half of it left too… but I only dab it on certain areas of my face, since I know how expensive it is! I started using it after the dr. brandt cleanser was drying me out around my mouth and chin, and problem stopped once I started using this! I did stop using the dr. brandt as well though, so there’s that.

Would those shades in the palette be the exact same as in the photo. I want the tarte blush but that palette is not all that to me. I would be a new subscriber.

Reply ButtonReply

JuJu

Yes, that’s the exact palette you’ll get.

I am actually wondering if I would be considered a new subscriber considering that I cancelled back in February, because then I’ll have two of these palettes that I don’t know what to do with. 😃

I wish they switched it up, ugh. 😑

Emma

I think the reason they’re continuing to use it is because they’re supposedly sending new colors every few months. I dunno, though, when did they first offer this? Because I think they have only had ONE additional color since then– a light purpley color. I was already unsubscribed by then, so I didn’t get it. I’m hoping there will be one again soon.

But yeah, this is not a super great combo for me either.

Luna

I wouldn’t be surprised if you got this palette again if you re-subscribed, because that’s exactly what happened to me. I received the palette in the January box like everyone else, cancelled in February, then re-subscribed in March, and I was sent a 2nd palette as a welcome gift (it came separate from the March box).

Regina

Use a different email

Shannon

5ml it is probably enough for one night! Although this is my favorite cream ever! It is so worth the splurge! I can’t wait to get my hands on a new Tarte blush! They are always excellent! Well worth the money of the box right there!

Reply ButtonReply

Elise

I soooooooooooooo want to try this! signing up sept 1 so I can get this box!!

Reply ButtonReply

Jen

5ml is tiny, it’s 1/10 full size. I got a 15ml one in a Sephora kit and it was tiny, I can’t imagine any smaller.

Reply ButtonReply

Dom

I’ve gotten a 5ml sample of this cream before and I can attest that it lasts a while. I’ve used it under my daily foundation for the past month and it’s just now almost gone. It’s fairly thick, so a very small amount goes a long way.

Reply ButtonReply

JuJu

Ooh, yeah, that’s basically a foil packet…

Reply ButtonReply

JuJu

I was really looking forward to this cream, and it got an excellent review on Beautypedia, but then a lot of the user reviews say the cream caused a really bad reaction?.. Has anyone had experience with this?

Reply ButtonReply

j

I would recommend Drunk Elephant Lala Retro Whipped Cream if you have dry skin. I have combo skin and I like using where my skin is dry. This cream and the Marula Oil are hydrating together for my mature skin

Reply ButtonReply

Christine

I don’t normally breakout and love all of Drunk Elephant’s other products and have no issues, but I tried a sample of this one last winter and within half a day of having this on I had broken out in cystic acne on my cheeks (where I NEVER breakout) and that took forever to go away.

It was one of those never again products for me. I think one of the six rare African oils in this product was highly incompatible with my skin.

That said, I had wanted it to work. It has a nice whipped texture.

Marilyn

I love this cream! No bad reactions & even shared it with my mom (82) while she was hospitalized and noted her face was dry. – light & hydrating. I share the box with my daughter, but this item will be MINE!

Reply ButtonReply

Jessica

My sister purchased the full size and loves it and I may have stolen a couple pumps of it when I was in her bathroom…. lightweight and moisturizing! No reaction for me!
