A note was included in my box, detailing the items chosen this month.
Circo Newborn 4-Piece Turtle Washcloth Set - Value $5.08
This washcloth set is so amazing and much needed in my house! I am now getting rid of all the washcloths I have for my son and buying this brand forever. Each washcloth has a gentle towel like feel to them and they are a really good size (the ones we have are so small). The helped make a nice lather with the soap during bath time, and they didn’t create too much of an exfoliation that could potentially irritate my son’s skin. These were a hit for us!
Gracie Naturals Organic Baby Soaps - Value $5.00
I am not a big fan of bar soap, but I was excited to try this for my son. These bars are 100% natural, made with pure plant ingredients with no synthetic colors or fragrances. They both smelled so good even before taking them out of the box. The lavender was by far my favorite and had an extremely fresh scent to it so you know this is the real deal! The honey and oat soap had a very sweet smell that I loved, but the lavender was by far the best to create that bedtime calming feel.
Gracie Naturals Organic Baby Lotion Bar - Value $13.00
I really wanted to love the lotion bar. I don’t know if I just wasn’t using it right or if I’m just too stuck in our routine, but I couldn’t get this lotion to go on the way I wanted it to. I tried rubbing it in my hand, but that was most likely the incorrect way to use it. Then, when I tried to rub it directly on my son’s skin, but he didn’t seem to enjoy it as much and I still couldn’t get it to spread. We have used the lotion time after bath as more of a massage to really get my son calm and relaxed for bed, but this lotion just didn’t have that same feel to it to allow for a light baby massage. I tried it on myself later and I did like the way it went on my legs, but when I tried it on my arms it left a very waxy feel that I didn’t love. The smell of the lotion had a wonderful vanilla scent! I am going to give it another try because I do love the scent, but the first go I just felt like I was fumbling to figure it out.
Munchkin Ocean Squirts Bath Toys, Pack of 3 - Value $7.08
These are always a huge hit during bath time, and they can also be used as a really fun pool toy! We just lost a ton of our Munchkin toys at the beach so I was very excited to see these in the box. My son quickly grabbed them to play with!
Oral-B Pro-Health Stages Disney Manual Toothbrush - Value $2.26
Is it weird that my son loves to brush his teeth? He will walk around all over our house with his toothbrush in hand, brushing here and there. Which is why we go through toothbrushes constantly (he drops them on the floor all the time)! This month’s box couldn’t have come at a better time because he was in need of a new one. I’ve never tried the Oral-B for him, but he seemed to really love it (the Disney character didn’t hurt). The extra grip on the handle and closer to the top really helped him when he was brushing to get a solid clean.
Good Night, Little Bear: A Sleepy-Time Tale - Value $3.58
You cannot have too many books as a parent so I was happy to have a new one to add to our collection! This story was so sweet and very calming! Each picture showed a different family of animals hugging and getting ready to sleep. This book has quickly been added to our bedtime book rotation!
Dream Catcher - Value $3.00?
This item came with a descriptive card around the origins of dream catchers. Hang the dream catcher above your sleeping child to protect them from bad dreams. My son is at that age where he is starting to experience bad dreams, which can interrupt bedtime and even naptime sleep, so I was really happy to see this item this month! I had a dream catcher hanging from my bed when I was a little girl so it was a nice reminder of that, and a fun story to tell my son while we found the perfect spot to hang his new dream catcher. Hopefully this will keep his bad dreams away and those happy dreams coming through every night!
Verdict: Bedtime routine is a big deal in our house because sticking to one has helped my son sleep really well since he was a newborn! I am always looking for new products for bath and bed as he gets older and his routine changes. This box really met what we needed and allowed us to find new products that my son loved! I calculated the value to $39, and I really feel that the products that arrived this month are worth that! However, this box was even with the monthly cost for me ($34.99 a month + $5 shipping), so although I can’t wait to see what future months bring for Baby Bedtime Box, I hope the value increases.
