Rock-a-Bye Room by Susan Meyers – Value $17.95
This is a sweet and soothing story to read to your little one right before you tuck them in for the night. A mother is saying good night to all the things in her daughter’s room and some pages reference nursery rhymes. The rhythmic text is perfect for a nighttime ritual. The watercolor illustrations are beautiful too.
Land Shark by Beth Ferry - Value $7.49 on Amazon (retail price $16.99)
I have this book at my school library and I can’t keep it on the shelf. This is a very popular story and I love that I now own a copy for home. Bobby is desperate to get a real live pet shark for his birthday and is beyond devastated when he gets a puppy instead. Such a funny story that’s well written and clever.
Verdict: The value of Bookroo this month is $25.44 (using Amazon prices) which is slightly higher than the $22.99 cost of the box ($17.99 a month + $5 US shipping). We were very happy with both selections this month! We love getting two hardcover, wrapped books each month from Bookroo and I certainly recommend this subscription for the little bookworm in your life.
