In the time between subscribing and writing this review, it looks like they got rid of their subscription option! There is always the option to buy a one-off curated selection, but without the subscription, this will probably be our only review!
The curator for the July box was Grace Slick from Jefferson Airplane!
The booklet is a blast! You'll see a handwritten top 10 album list, along with notes about the specific album you're about to dig into.
This delivery included a little 7 inch single of Jefferson Airplane's hit - White Rabbit! This blurb details a bit behind the writing of the song.
It wraps up with 10 facts about Peter Gabriel's 3rd album - Melt or Peter Gabriel 3 - whichever title you prefer!
Speaking of Peter Gabriel - Melt was the featured selection.
It's a nice quality 180 gram vinyl - with digital download code.
Overall, it's a standard pressing of the album - no crazy dyes or anything.
The album: awesome. Intruder is just a killer intro leading you into a cymbal-less exploration.
The insert has the liner notes for the album - which I always appreciate!
It also includes an exclusive psychedelic swirled 7 inch White Rabbit single! This was a fun little extra from the curator - I loved this touch.
It also includes Plastic Fantastic Lover on Side B to round out the single.
Verdict: I've been listening to vinyl for a good portion of the day, and this one was a highlight. I was really excited for next month, only to find out that my subscription was already canceled with no sign of subscriptions on the site. At all. Bummer! At least I was able to enjoy it for one month!
