FYI – Nerd Block Ending – UPDATES on Billing

FYI - as of today, Monday, August 7th, all Nerd Block sites (including Shirt Punch) are still down. I reached out to customer care last week but I haven't heard back. We're also NerdBlock subscribers but haven't received any type of email communication from them.

They did post this on Facebook today, though:

I recommend checking your credit card account for a refund from FANBLOCKS. If it isn't there, it's a good idea to contact your credit card company and file a chargeback.

There are a lot of reasons why they were sending out sloppy crates the last couple months. No shirts, items people had received a year ago, items from across other types of blocks regardless of theme. They even did some hook to get some subscribers at one point. The entire reason they continued to send boxes out, even using old packaging on hand, was so that they could claim x number of subscribers to the end while trying to finance and restructure stuff. They knowingly scammed people and there is a chance they will get some rebranding though very doubtful I hope now. Make sure all of you with extended subscriptions left do a chargeback on your card (contact bank or CC).

From what I’ve heard via YouTube, they sunk themselves with a promo. There was a puzzle card and once you got it filled with all nine pieces you received a $100 shirt punch credit. Everyone started claiming them and they couldn’t back it up. Seems like that was the beginning of the end. Sad. I was looking into a couple of their subs recently. Glad I didn’t go for it! But I’m sorry for those of you who’ve lost out because of their mess.

This is exactly why I won’t pay for anything other than month to month subs. I know sometimes you get a deep discount but these subs are closing down all the time and if they can’t pay their suppliers they probably can’t refund subscriptions either.

I hope not, I get the wwe one for my son and he loves it.

I think, in terms of Loot Crate, the WWE Smackdown Crate is safe. It’s one of the ones that they advertise and spoil most 😉

Woops, this was a reply to Greg.

Loot Crate might be heading down the same path, they have way too many boxes and I’m not sure how many people subscribe to them. It even costs them money just to keep the boxes up. They need to decide which ones are worth keeping or which ones are actually selling.

Although I get the Sanrio Small Gift Crate and I even bought the Spiderman-featuring Marvel Gear and Goods, I do understand that for some of the boxes there is a lack of demand (I can imagine Sanrio doesn’t have that many followers). For example, I don’t think that that many people have signed up for the World of Wizardry anymore after the Dark Arts crate, I could be mistaken. I think that one could be axed off.

They also got the Loot Vault right? Where they put all the leftover stock for the stuff that didn’t sell. They have to mark all that stuff as a loss.

I heard an interview with the Loot Crate founders during E3. They claimed 600,000 – but I’m guessing that’s lifetime across all subs. Even if the active number is half that, it’s impressive.

I have to say I got two boxes from these guys and didn’t really like either, it does make me question whether bam box will ever close

Bam Boxes biggest problem right now is keeping up with the demand. They’ve talked about capping their number of subscribers to be able to keep up with the demand for subscriptions.

That is honestly surprising. I was a huge fan of The Bam Box up until the Jessica Rabbit cosplay autograph. Aside from the autographs, which can be hit or miss, does the box really have anything going for it anymore?

Oh boy, another sub wend down. I am so nervous, about Beauty Box 5, I have feeling they are next, and I have 7 more boxes to receive from them.

Why do you think Beauty Box 5 is next?

because it is August 8, I have not received July box, no shipping information, no communication. They stop responding.
