You also receive this cute Do Not Disturb sign.
This month's project is a Floral Pallet Sign. It appears to be a kit from Etsy seller Sunshine and Bloom, and you are given a coupon code to their shop. However, it appears that the shop is currently empty. Because it's not offering any sales at the moment, I wasn't able to find the listed value of this kit on the seller's page.
Here are the kit's materials:
Pre-cut felt shapes to create the flowers.
A wooden base and 'laugh' wood cutout.
I also received additional supplies:
DecoArt Americana White Acrylic Paint, 2 oz. - Value $0.99
Americana Dark Brown Gel Stain, 2 oz. - Value $5.65
Foam Brush - Value $0.24 (buy a 25-pack for $5.96)
Home Made Luxe also included two glue gun sticks.
This sign was super straightforward to put together. You roll the felt pieces to form flowers and glue them in place with a glue gun. From there, the only steps include painting the wooden base and cutout. You can do white on brown, but I chose a white base and brown gel stained cutout. Simply arrange your 'laugh' cutout and felt flowers, glue everything into place, and voilà. Sort of shockingly easy.
Super cute and rustic. Just make sure you're extra careful with all that hot glue!
This box also came with some extra felt pieces to create a bookmark with.
Verdict: Home Made Luxe certainly puts a lot of prep into their crafts. The pre-cut felt pieces made the final product look super polished, but I almost wish I had more to do in making this sign. The overall aesthetic wasn't a fit with my decor style, but I plan to gift this sign to my mom who will enjoy it.
Value-wise, the $29.99 + $10 shipping amount is quite high for what I received this month, in my opinion. You could definitely purchase these materials at a craft supply store for less than the box cost. For that reason, I think that this box is only ideal for serious craft enthusiasts who would find a lot of convenience in receiving a monthly curated craft on their doorstep. Overall, I'm not really impressed with this month's box.
