Ipsy Reveals Are Up for the August 2017 Glam Bag!

I’m not mad at ipsy. In fact I have subscribed for several months starting with a bag for me, then getting one for my youngest daughter to build her collection, then my oldest started looting my bags so I got her one. We all love to see what the other is getting then when they come we have our very own swaps party. I love the bags and the fun of trying new things. I don’t love everything all the time but me and my girls seem to bond over these little bags. Between the 3 of us we end up pretty happy. PS we keep all the bags to use for gifts, pencil holders for back to school, ect. My youngest was obsessed with the egg bag, me and my oldest……well not so much so she got our bags and now her and her friends have matching “pencil bags” for school.

I must be in the minority here because I LOVE this bag! The sayings don’t bother me at all. I am upset that once again I am getting some of The Balm! Hate that brand!

I just got my shipping confirmation email and it looks like I am getting the lighter pinky shadow/highlighter from The Balm, which I am very happy about because I didn’t want the dark brown color! I know a lot of people think the sample sizes are way too small, but for an eyeshadow sample it seems like a perfectly decent size, and I love the magnetic packaging, so easy to throw in a bag and not worry about! I’m the most excited about the Pacifica blush duo though! Those colors looks lovely and seem to be workable for eyeshadows too (I love the terra cotta color, perfect for a pale redhead like me!).

Does anyone know if the balm eyeshadow can be put into a Z palette?

So what bags did y’all get in your preview emails? I got the “Wild & Free” one, and I’m so hoping that that’s the bag I actually receive!

I was going to quit ipsy, but after this great bag I am hesitant

My Ipsy reveal for August is very disappointing. I would have loved the Leaders masks. They are $6 apiece and work really well. Would have liked the Gazza Gold and First Aid clay too. Didn’t get any of them. I’m ready to quit Ipsy.

I don’t know, I’ve been a subscriber for four months now, and it seems to me I haven’t received a single bag I actually liked. This time I even got an item that’s unchecked in my profile. I emailed Ipsy about it and the reply was that they can’t promise to only send the colors I did check in my profile – but then why on earth do they have us fill out those profiles?? Why do they even bother asking which colors we prefer if those checked preferences aren’t then being followed?

So, I don’t know, with everyone saying how awesome Ipsy is, I expected better. I suppose I’ll give it two more months before I give up completely…

Don’t worry I won’t be posting again. It is hard for me to believe all these woman complaining about $5 & $10 subscription boxes get posted. I have 3 college degrees & am a director of a ministry so it is hard to believe my posts were not appropriate!

Probably my least favorite bag so far, but it is ok…ive got tons of bags 🙂

My items this month are a gr8 choice for me.

1. Glamour Dolls -Romantic Rose blending brush (I’ve never tried this brand, so yeah!!)
2. The Balm cosemetics Voyage Vol 2 eyeshadow not sure which color yet, but like both.
3. Labotica Honey and Bamboo skin soft masks ( I requested, love masks)!!
4. Make up for ever excessive lash arresting volume mascara. (Love trying new mascaras).
5. Hey Honey Come Clean: Propolis & Minerals face scrub (I like Hey Honey products).

I feel like the more I review products, the worse the bags get. I went back and looked at my bags for the last 8 months.
My fist few bags were great, but it has been all downhill from there. I continue to get sparkly brown eyeshadow in every bag. I changed my eyeshow preferences and rate the shadows poorly, but it has not made a difference. This month I am getting another brown eyeshadow it looks like. Despite my preferences and poor reviews I continue to get items similar to those I have reviewed poorly. Considering changing to Sephora Play.

I’m honestly not mad!
This is only my second month, and I feel that Ipsy is doing a decent job evaluating my profile. However, I did have eye-liner unchecked, and wound up with the Laurent liquid liner. I have no idea how to apply eyeliner successfully, but maybe this will be a great introductory tool. I did email them to tell them i’m not into eyeliner, though.

When I saw them, I wasn’t super thrilled. I will like theBalm if I get the lighter shadow or at least one of each. I don’t wear nail polish. I hated the eyeko when I got it from Birchbox like two years ago…

But when I looked at the rest of what’s available this month, there’s a lot of stuff I want even less, and not a whole lot more that would have been better, so I’m just accepting that I’ve gotten a pretty good assortment of a not-super-great bunch of options this month.

I think I’d have liked to try the aurora pistachio corrector, and I thought I wanted the catrice highlighter and then remembered I just bought a highlighter palette! LOL. I would have been happy with the Leaders sheet masks, but will be happy to try the ones I did get.

Happy with my bag, overall! I was skeptical of the YADAH product at first, but – after doing some research – I think it’ll work fine on my fair skin since it’s so sheer. Now I’m very excited about it since it sounds like a tinted moisturizer, which I’ve been wanting to try while it’s still summer and hot out. Not thrilled about another black liquid eyeliner in my collection, but I’ll be using it when I need to practice my wing so I’m not too upset. Hoping for the cream eyeshadow from theBalm (would be a nice “cancellation” color on my lids) and the purple-grey polish from sundays (the light pink would probably be too “nude” on my nails/hand).

This is my first Ipsy bag and I’m not too pleased with my items. I lean more to the skin care side that anything else. I’m getting 3 makeup items. I will keep my subscription anyways to give it a chance.

I have enough cleansers, moisturizers and hair care from purchase or from other beauty box subscriptions.

My makeup room is full but this woman always wants more of it 😄😉😊 The only exception being mascara. I have so many unopened and tubes and the few I have opened and use last so long, my mascara drawer is on overload.
Then again, so is my eyeliner drawer but that’s different. I have different shades and types so it’s an exception 😆

Anyway, can’t wait to get my bag whatever one I get I’ll be good with!

Not a bad assortment of items overall. But the bag itself is barfy.

Did anyone get an LXMI?? I’d really want that item! It’s fantastic.

It looks like a great bag for me.
I love the colors of the blush and mascara’s, scrubs and brushes are the items I usually hope for in my bags.

It follows my profile well. The only things on the big list that I would have wanted is other brushes or face cleansers but I get that they couldnt send me all skin care and brushes. It seems like they only had a few categories and offered several items in each, there is lots of masks, mascara, several black eyeliners and brushes this month. I do love that they offered a green correcter, very cool.
