I think I could get a giant 5 lb bag of peanut butter M&M’s at Costco for under $10. I know I’ve gotten a big bag there long ago, but I don’t remember the size and it definitely wasn’t more than $6. $40 for candy seems insane; especially just 3 lbs. I mean I could even go to the fancy chocolatiers downtown and get amazing chocolates for under $40.

I really don’t understand who subscribes to this. Perhaps businesses who just need to have candy around and don’t want to bother ordering every month?

I’ve always been confused about this sub and their huge price tag.

Am I wrong for understanding the huge markup is because they repackage the candy in their own brand containers and then ship it to you?

I understand the convenience of this, but this isn’t a box that seems like you get your money’s worth. While you’ll use some gas, you can go into a grocery store, convenience store or candy store and buy this exact stuff in its original packaging and pay about 1/4- 1/2 the cost of this box.

If you go to Mill’s Fleet Farm you can get the same candies in larger bags for a lot less. Tried it once and was okay but the second one was awful. Canceling is a pain cause it has to be done by phone.

Wow, that is seriously expensive.

I subbed to this box a long time ago like years ago when they had like the first box for $5. The candy was not good back then although you didn’t get a choice and they sent me some cheap licorice, hard candies and I think taffy. If was not worth $25 back then and certainly not worth almost $40!! Really?!

It’s a shame that this box won’t make it due to the overpricing. It’s a nice box but price ought to be literally half that.

I agree. Way too expensive. I, too, was hoping they were dropping the price so I could finally sub. 40 bucks for candy is way out of my monthly budget. I wish they would consider a mini sub with less quantity. I’d be all over that!

I did a one month trial of this sub about a year ago with a discount and cancelled after because I couldn’t justify the cost then (although I liked it). Then around Christmas I signed up to get the 3 extra candy deal with a 6 month sub….just to get a lower rate to help justify it. When 6 months was up I cancelled again because I had quite a large stock of candy and, again, could not justify the price. I thought maybe I’d come back eventually but now with the price increase from what I already couldn’t justify, I just don’t see that happening. They also make it unnecessarily difficult to cancel (pet peeve of mine) by making you call…can’t even send an email, let alone do it in your online account (which also used to be a pain to access). Oh well….back to the bulk candy store I go. 🙂

Bummer. This sub looks great, but is too expensive for what it is. When I saw the ‘price changes’ headline I thought: Finally! They dropped the price! I’m totally subbing now! Nope. Oh well.

I clicked thinking the same thing, that I might actually be able to afford it now. This is seriously ridiculous for candy. I can go to a bull candy store and get exactly what I want for way less.
