Moondani Natural Breath Mist, 0.17 oz - Value $7.50 (buy 2 for $14.99)
I've never thought to purchase breath mist, but it's one of those that I've found myself wanting on hand from time to time. Needless to say, I was excited to see this mist in my box this month. I had a bit of trouble in triggering the top of the spray mechanism, but the button worked without hassle after a few forceful pushes. The mist is very strong. Its pungent mint taste is exactly what you want from a breath mist, and I found that it cleansed my breath quite well! Also, I can't get over the flavor name 'Mystical Mint!'
Afterspa Charcoal Konjac Sponge - Value $9.50 (based on similar product)
I received a konjac sponge in my Satva Swag Box, so I was a bit disappointed to see another one in this month's standard beauty box. (However, it's not surprising considering that the Swag Box includes items from past Satva boxes). On the bright side, I really love my first konjac sponge, so it was nice to receive a back-up! This hard sponge takes a few minutes to soften up in warm water. Its natural fibers possess exfoliating properties that are ideal for facial cleansing.
Mooi Labs Illuminating Drops Sample Kit, 3 1.2 ml tubes - Value $8.00
Made with natural oils (sweet almond, jojoba, almond, coconut), this set of 3 illuminating drops helps skin maintain a luminous glow. I've swatched them from top to bottom: Gleam, Luster, Radiance. Each vial has a doe foot applicator for easy and precise application. The product's oil base allows these to completely blend into the skin leaving an extremely subtle sheen. At first, I tried Gleam as a face highlighter, but I found that the pigmentation payoff wasn't there. These would better be suited for use as a glowy body oil or maybe mixed with a bit of tinted moisturizer for an all over illuminating effect on the face. Much like their ingredients, the subtle shimmer they leave is very natural.
Organic to Green Liquid Coco Oil, Rose, 1.8 oz - Value $12.00
I currently use castor oil as a makeup remover, but I've been looking for a solid alternative. Not sure why I haven't opted for good ol' coconut oil before! The pump on this travel sized bottle makes it wonderful for dispensing the perfect small amount of product. I pumped two squirts on a cotton pad to remove my eye makeup, and it did the trick. This oil is also infused with a lovely rose scent that makes it feel a bit more luxurious than your standard coconut oil.
Verdict: My August Satva Box has a value of $37.00 which isn't too shabby considering the $15.00 box cost. There was a nice assortment of skincare, beauty, and toiletry-type products this month, but the rose coconut oil stuck out to me as a favorite. I'm very much enjoying the introduction to more natural self-care products that Satva Box provides. Being that I'm pregnant, I am attempting to be particularly mindful of my beauty regime choices. I could see many of these options sticking with me well beyond my pregnancy, and I love that Satva Box makes the experience so affordable.
