Subscriber Survey: What Subscription Item was a Great Gift?

Sunday Subscriber Survey time! Have you ever said, "I know the perfect person for this item," when you opened a box?

What subscription box item was a great gift to give someone?

I unknowingly gave someone a perfect gift thanks to POPSUGAR! I was attending my cousin's bachelorette and decided to give her the August 2015 POPSUGAR Must Have box as a gift because:

  1. I didn't know what to get her since this was different than a bridal shower gift.
  2. Who wouldn't want a POPSUGAR box?
  3. And this wasn't a semi-scandalous kind of Bachelorette party!

And a few months later, I was looking at her wedding photo album, and saw this POPSUGAR item in the photos of her and her bridesmaids getting ready:

I unknowingly gave her a "something blue" for her wedding day!

What subscription box item was the perfect gift for you to share?

P.S. If you have an idea for a future Subscriber Survey question, let me know in the comments!

As soon as I saw the spoilers/review of the Popsugar August box, I knew my twin nieces would love that blue bracelet. I love it too so I have to figure out how I’m going to purchase 2 extra boxes.

I gave the Kris Nations Mystic Gemstone Necklace from the FabFitFun box to a co-worker who has been going through a rough spell. She works for me and I wanted to give her some encouragement. She really loved it and in return she wrote me a very sweet thank you note and gave me a box of chocolates.

I gave my Mom the blanket that came from Happy Rebel Box for Christmas and she opened that gift first (I tend to over- gift) so she has many more to open, but she was so impressed with that blanket she just kept going on and on raving about it , asking questions , which thanks to Liz I knew the answers too 😉, literally bringing it around the room making everyone touch it …. then thanks to my sub box addiction she opened many more gifts . One was the blanket the Popsugar LE box, (I bought several of those boxes for gifts) so she sees this second blanket and loses it ~ she can’t believe it but she thinks this is her new favorite blanket …. on and on , talking about how she will use and treasure both blankets , and how for the first time in her life she has high quality blankets she can be proud of ! ☺️ I just love that feeling , when you think someone is going to love a gift and you were right ! Sub boxes have upped my gifting game, which was already my one and only bragging right , to now being deemed the Gifter Extraordinaire by my family and friends. Nothing makes me happier than giving rhe perfect gift 🎁 and I love these stories so much ! Thank you Liz!

The Robb VICes April 2017 fit my fiancé that arrived on his birthday! The speaker and the headphones were a hit!

I just made 2 wedding gift baskets from my collection/hoard of sub box items. Especially from Popsugar. I had trinket dishes, candles, etc.

Probably the Ludwig Schiff chef’s knife from Bespoke Post (i think the name of the box was Edge) for my boyfriend. Cooking is one of his hobbies and had long bemoaned his lack of a decent chef’s knife. So I bought the box as one of his Christmas presents a year and a half ago.

The funny thing is, he can be kind of snobby about kitchen utensils (and, well, a lot of products, actually) and immediately started telling me that, while the thought was appreciated, the knife just wasn’t up to snuff. But as he’s going through, pointing out all the ways a knife would be superior, he essentially convinced himself that it might be a good knife, after all. As soon as he tried it, he fell in love and it is now his baby.

I got my husband the Alien Covenant box with the life sized moldable facehugger for his birthday this year. He’s a huge Alien fan and had no idea such a thing existed (and I wouldn’t have either if not for MSA, so thank you!)

I gifted my father-in law a BBQ set that was a mixture of several different boxes. A BBQ grill light from Monthly Mystery along with the things you throw in a fire for colors, an apron from bespoke post, sauces from Beekman and a few other items I can’t recall right now. The only non sub item was the utensil set I purchased from Amazon. It was definitely the most outstanding gift he received based on how much people kept talking about it and he thanked me over and over.

Liz a good future question for a post would be:

How do you explain where your sub box items came from to nonaddicts?

The Pusheen string lights from the Winter 2016 box. My instant thought was “Oh, these are for Laurie!” She posted a pic of them in her studio along with a few other cool, quirky gifts she received and said how happy and loved it made her feel when her dear ones knew exactly what she would love.

This is so touching reading the comments. The Turkish Towel is special to me because my beloved (deceased) Grandmother used to have so many of these and it was so nice to layer that she never had to keep dealing with a gaggle of grandkids yelling they were too hot or too cold when she offered to have a group sleep over to let all of her daughters have date nights with their husbands. I didn’t include it in my comment, but I realize that the items most important to us are all memories of the people we love the most, the ones that touch and stay in our hearts. Who would have thought these boxes could bring us moments like that. I will say, when I slowly ran my hand on that Turkish Towel, I broke into tears. I covered myself on the sofa and fell into the deepest, sweetest sleep. That’s why it is one that I treasure the MOST. PopSugar has no idea how much that Turkish Towel means to me. This is a neat post, Liz.

The rose gold passport holder and luggage lag set from the summer 2017 Fabfitfun box was gifted to my friend that travels at least 4-6 times per year. She loved it! It really was the perfect gift for the perfect person.

What an awesome story Liz, and how special that you gave her a gift that she ended up using on her wedding day and after!
I gave my sister the girls night out Popsugar mystery box and she loved it! She used everything and she loves her Kendra Scott bracelet! 💗

My daughter was going through a bad break up and I gave her the So Susan make up bag that said “I’m a Diamond. you Can’t Break Me” filled with make up. She loves it and carries it everywhere.

A pair of earrings from Elevita. Though not my style, they were very pretty and I immediately thought they had my mother’s name written all over them. I gave them to her and response was to fish out a necklace that went with the earrings so perfectly they looked like they came from a set.
