Now, onto the items!
Kokie Strobe Lights in Radiant - Value $7
This creamy highlighter comes in a twist-up tube that makes it really easy to apply to your cheekbones. The silvery-pink, shimmery shade is easy to blend in with your fingertips and it gives a nice smooth glow. I like the color for highlighting the inner corner of my eyes and under my brow. When I first opened it, the product was stuck to the inside of the lid and pulled completely out of the tube. I tapped it back down and everything is back to normal. Hopefully, that was just a fluke with mine.
Laritzy Undressed Liquid Lip Stain in Bare - Value $20
I really like this liquid lip stain! It is the perfect rosy nude for my skin and has a good amount of pigment but never looks chalky and thick like some liquid colors. Once it dries down, it doesn’t rub off on anything and it lasts a while before I need to touch up. My lips never look dry even though this is a completely matte formula.
Laritzy Lip Pencil in Bare - Value $18
This pencil is the matching shade of the lip stain. I love that they provided a set. It is creamy and glides on easily without flaking or tugging. I find that if I use this to fill in my lips before applying the stain, I get a lot more wear and a more opaque look.
Be a Bombshell Eyeshadow Quad in Rome - Value $7
Well, this is an interesting color combination. I like the light shade for my whole lid, the dark shade for my crease, and the bronze shade to bring a little pop to the center of my lid. I don’t quite know how to use the yellow though. I mean, it is really yellow! I have lots of pink undertones so I don’t feel like it is a flattering color on my eyes. It is matte, so I might try it as a back-up color corrector for days when I have some redness. The colors blend well and have buildable intensity.
Hikari Shimmer Bronzer in Flush - Value $17 (listed as $15 on info card)
When I first swatched this on my hand I thought it looked too shimmery and orange. I was pleased that when applied it is more subtle and brings a bit of glow to my skin. The four colors work together as a bronzer but can also be used separately as eyeshadows or blush. I actually would classify this as more of a bronzer-blush since it is a little too heavy on the pinks to be just a bronzer. One downside is that the compact is bulky and feels a little flimsy.
All of the items swatched from top to bottom: Kokie Strobe Lights, Laritzy Lip Pencil, Laritzy Liquid Lip, Be a Bombshell Quad, and Hikari Bronzer.
Here is a look with all of the items from this month’s box (minus the yellow shadow). I’m liking it. I feel polished and I like that this look is wearable for me every day.
Verdict: Sweet Sparkle’s “Sunset Dream” box has a value of $69 plus free shipping. That is on par with previous months and over double the cost of the box. I would still like to see the overall value increase and new brands be introduced. I see a lot of repeat brands month to month.
All of the items are fitting for the theme of this box and, as always, full-sized and coordinated to fit into a whole look. My favorite items are the Laritzy lip pencil and stain because they compliment each other perfectly and are good quality.
