This box comes with a fold out sheet detailing the items included and why the Allure Beauty Editors selected them.

Now, on to the items!

Wander Beauty Lipstick in Barely There – FULL SIZE! Value $15

FYI the full-size version is 1 lipstick of a 2-lipstick duo, so it’s smaller than your standard full-size lipstick.

(Good to know for swaps – this product has a sticker seal.)

The formula is so creamy and moisturizing, and it goes on a tad sheer, so you can build the kind of color you want.

And the color! This is probably my perfect lip color. It’s like a lighter version of a berry-stain. Super wearable!

Cargo Cosmetics Colorstick in Champagne – .25 oz Value $20

I thought this was full-size when I first saw it. (It is .25 oz compared to the .35 oz of the full-size version.)

The formula itself is great. It goes on smoothly, has a ton of shimmer, and blends easily. (Swatched in lower photo.)

Eyeko Eye Do Liquid Eyeliner – .04 oz Value $11.40

This eyeliner is waterproof and the felt tip marker makes it super easy to apply a straight line, too. The pigment is excellent, too. (Swatched in lower photo.)

LaRitzy Cosmetics Lip Pencil in Cabernet – FULL SIZE! Value $18

(LaRitzy products are all cruelty and paraben free.)

This lip liner has great pigment. It had decent staying power, too. I was pleasantly surprised that a darker red shade ended up being really wearable for me.

St. Tropez Gradual Tan Tinted - 50 ml Value $7.50

I'm always on the hunt for a better self-tanner, and while this one isn't my holy grail, it's pretty great. The formula is free of sulfates, parabens, and phthalates, and it doesn't smell like self-tanner!

The tan builds over time, and you don't have to worry about overdoing it either. Plus you also get a little instant color and shimmer.

Here it is swatched beneath the lipstick, highlighter, eyeliner, and lip liner:

Orlando Pita Hair Purifier Vinegar Cleansing Mask - .75 oz Value $2.60

I was expecting this to smell like vinegar, but it actually smells like your standard fancy hair care line! You apply it to wet or dry hair and leave it on from 5-20 minutes. I opted to use it in the shower, so wet hair for 5 minutes, and my hair felt a bit cleaner/lighter after using!

Skin & Co Roma Truffle Therapy Face Toner - 1 oz Value $4

This is the best-smelling toner I've come across! It's sweet, and I love that it is ingredient-conscious, too.

Grande Lips Hydrating Lip Plumper – Value $10?

(No size listed on this sample, so I’m estimating the value/size at a little less than half the full-size version.)

This formula is gluten and paraben free, and it is supposed to help plump lips. It gives a good amount of gloss with no stickiness – so at least it passes my lip gloss test! The formula tingles a little bit, but isn’t too annoying. I haven’t noticed any major plumping differences, but I rarely do with this type of product!

DERMAdoctor Kakadu C Amethyst Clay Detox Mask - 3 Packettes Value $20.90

This clay mask goes on purple and smells like black cherries! You leave it on for about 15 minutes (it will completely dry), then remove with water. It did an excellent job at cleaning my pores - this mask is awesome!

LXMI Creme Du Nil - 7 ml Value $8.05

This is a lightweight formula that can be used as a day or night cream. This cream absorbed well, and it left my skin with a dewy finish. (They recommend using this before makeup, but it probably wouldn’t work well if you are going for a matte look.) The formula was gentle on my skin, and the scent was subtle and reminded me of cucumber.

Amika Perk Up Dry Shampoo - .75 oz Value $7.50

Amika has such fun packaging – I love the ’60s vibe of this pattern! This dry shampoo smells lovely, too. I’ve sampled this before and think it is a great dry shampoo.

The only caution I would give is that this is a white dry shampoo (not clear like some formulas) so you may need to brush it out if you get too much on one spot of your hair!

Klorane Thickness & Vitality Shampoo - 100 ml Value $7.50

This is a great sized shampoo sample! (I got about 4 washes out of it.) I just wish they included the conditioner, too. It's tough to evaluate shampoo/conditioner with just half of the set.

this works Stress Check Breathe In – 5 ml Value $12.80

This is an essential oil blend (Eucalyptus, Frankincense, and Lavender), designed to help you relax and de-stress. You apply it to your wrists and take 5 deep breaths. I like this for a pre-bedtime routine, too.

Jurlique Herbal Recovery Night Cream - 5 ml Value $5.30

This is a night cream, so I was surprised to see how easily it absorbed and how light the formula was! If you don't like a heavy night cream, this is one to check out. (Just a warning - it has a strong rose scent.)

Sisley Black Rose Skin Infusion Cream – 8 ml total Value $30

What a nice surprise to see Sisley in this box! (I'm addicted to their products thanks to the Sisley Beauty subscription.) This face cream is designed for both night and day use. Considering how luxe the formula feels and how hydrating it is, it is surprisingly light! It absorbed almost instantly!

dr. brandt Needles No More No More Baggage - .1 oz Value $8.40

This product is designed to instantly de-puff under eye bags. I have under-eye circles, but no eye bags, so this product didn't wow me at all, but it gets excellent reviews on Sephora.

Josie Maran Whipped Argan Oil in Tropical Orchid - 2 oz Value $12

I'm a sucker for any beauty product described as "whipped!" This is like a lighter body butter that still delivers the same amount of moisture. The tropical orchid scent is nice, too.

Verdict: This box has a value of about $200. I think that's great for a $40 box! And this box included a lot of products that haven't already been sampled in an Allure Beauty Box!

Does this box mean that if you order that you will be charged 3 times and every time it’s charge is $39.99? I’m confused because it didn’t show that in the website link I saw to sign up for this. It was acting like you’ll receive this and buy this box for 39.99 and you’ll be good.

Julie

No it was a 3 subscription box special. This was 2nd box 3rd hasn’t been released yet, be careful rue lala sucks for canceling, it’s not worth the money.

I’m wondering that too. Just got an email for the Allure x Rue La La Fall Essentials Beauty Box. But no mention of other boxes or a mini-sub. Why are they releasing this EXACT same box as a “fall beauty collection” when it was already released TWO MONTHS AGO? I’m thinking they had a slew of extras they’re trying to unload now.

Did anyone get this box after it was available again?
I just received mine a couple of days ago and I only received one Sisley instead of 2 like Liz. Just wondering what others got.
I purchased this box direct from Rue La La and I am automatically getting the next (and last) box unless I cancel by the certain date. I hope they release spoilers beforehand! Overall very happy about the variety of products except lip plumper which I won’t use.

SAME here only got one, they said to call, i have gotten both of these boxes and i dont like them all really small samples half empty, there is suppose to be 3 so watch out because i tried to cancel after the first box and they charged me for this one which is the 2nd one. i canceled 3 times and they sent me a recent one for the 3rd and final box of the allure and rue la la special boxes i emailed them that i have canceled this 3 times so they finally stopped …. its not worth it most of the things are allure box dupes.

Actually 4 of these exact same items have already been given out in previous boxes this year:

Cargo in Champagne
The Stress ball thingy
Wander lippie in same colour
Grande lip plumper

The rest is new though.

😕

I’m keeping about 80% of this box when it arrives next week. Not bad percentages all considered.

Rosemary

Liz, do you have any idea when they will be shipped? I don’t even think I’ve been charged for this second box yet.

I’m not a regular Allure customer so I ordered this hoping it would be a mix of their old boxes & some new. I’m soooo glad I did! It’s got new products/new brands for me to try.

Thks for the review!

Seems to me like they have been focusing more on this than their regular monthly subscription. As a long time subscriber, I would have signed up for this if their curation and customer service were better. I’m guessing most of us will get the wrong color blush. My 6 month sub is up and they want me to resign but just don’t know… They have not released any sneak peeks for October yet at all. Any idea when they will do so?

SquirrelyGirl

The sneak peeks are up now 🙂

WOW! Pretty impressive contents here! I’m very impressed by not only the value but mainly by the products! Who knew they would have products that are actually new to me with top brands! The first box had me thinking all the boxes were gonna be repeats but low & behold a truly awesome box which really bums me out because I wasn’t able to get it when it came out

Kristin

I got an email and tried to subscribe for this box, but it kept trying to sign me up for the regular Allure box instead, which I already receive.

Manali

Liz, the size of the body butter is 2 fl oz, not 2 ml. 🙂

I wish they wouldn’t review boxes that are not available unless they are including info on how to get the next one.

Sorry! I’m not sure if there will be another Allure X RueLaLa subscription, but we first posted about it here and subscribed because readers wanted to see it reviewed: https://www.mysubscriptionaddiction.com/2017/06/allure-beauty-box-x-ruelala-new-3-month-subscription.html

I could have sworn I saw this listed for sale somewhere within the last week. I am almost certain it was on Gilt City but I cannot find it this week. The picture had the box with the Spongelle. I couldn’t figure out whether it $39 for one box or 3 boxes on the site so I didn’t subscribe! I have hopes this box will pop back up for sale and appreciate the review Liz!

Alissa

Is this box still available for purchase?
