2017_New_Subscription_Boxes_POST-HEADER

We learn about a few new subscription boxes every day! At the end of each month, we pick a few that seem interesting, fun, and/or unique, and let you vote for which ones we review next.

(This list isn't strictly boxes that just started in the last month, but boxes new to us, interesting boxes we've found, and boxes we want your feedback on!)

Before we get started on August's boxes, below is a quick update on some of your favorites from last month's post:

As always, thank you for being an MSA reader and telling us your thoughts! The August poll is at the bottom of the post. And if there are other boxes you'd like to see us review that aren't listed here, please let us know in the comments!

I’d love to see Ekka Recovery and the Scout box.

I’m reluctantly going to the LOT website to see what the heck this is!! 😳

The Zakka Kit please!!! I have been waiting for a sub like this!! 😀

Two that I voted for I can’t wait to see but they do not fit into my budget. And of course, even before I read all the comments, I just had to see what was in the LOT box. Some of the boxes mentioned in the comments have been reviewed on other blogger sites and on YouTube. MSA is still the best but I love giveaways…..

A brand new sub box called The Alluring Alchemist. It’s around $36, bimonthly and includes 4 dry ingredients for a facial mask (1 is a clay), a 1 oz facial oil, and a Botanical Facial Steam. Tons of info is included and they also have a blog for those who are more curious. On the blog, they offer alternative uses for all products and ways to reuse the glass containers that the items are sent in. There is more than enough of all ingredients to last until the next box. It’s AMAZING. They are on Instagram @thealluringalchemist.

Anchor of Hope box please!

Thanks for this one. With the hurricane havoc I was looking for a box that would give back and this fits the bill – even if not specifically for that.

It’s not on the list, but I would love to see the At Home With Nikki (NStyle Box) reviewed.

Maybe it’s the Walking Dead fan in me, but Lot looks like a survivalist, minimalist with a bunker, type of sub.

It also looks like a sub that is prepping you for the apocalypse, zombie or nuclear.

And! It also looks like a creepy cult-like, conformist sub. (The Path, Leftovers)

That being said I’m intrigued. I would love to see it reviewed. Especially with the tattoo gun.

The video on the site is weird and the script that appears at the bottom of the web page (scripture aside)
I wish they wouldn’t bring the Bible/religion into it. Be offbeat and different without offending people maybe? (I’m not even religious but still, respect ppl)

This scripture
Jeremiah 29:11

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

I voted for the home decor box, but I’m most interested in looking into the 5 or so new-to-me subs some commenters recommended. Thanks ladies! My list of subs to potentially subscribe to in a few months keeps getting longer & longer. 😀

My recommendations are:
Beauty Pie
Face Mask Alchemy
Look Incredible

After reading all the comments, curiousity got the best of me and I had to check out the Lot website. I know everyone has said it already, but it really has a creepy vibe to it. The pictures don’t show anyone’s face, and there is one picture that almost looks like the guy is trying to shoot himself in the head.

Also, from a business perspective, it’s a horrible website. The photos are really random and don’t actually show the item they have listed. No real descriptions of the box or the products you would be receiving. there were several other things missing from the website to make it seem like a legitimate business.

Was anyone else left with a vaguely creepy feeling after seeing the website? Just weird.

It strikes me as a hilariously self-indulgent nihilist-hipster sort of endeavor, whether or not it means to be. I keep thinking about tje one pirtly LOT enthusiast running around in nothing but a pair of black socks and an XXL black t because that is all they carry that will fit him.

Dammit, phone – portly, not portly. And the, not the. Grrr.

The LadyGang podcast does a quarterly box that I think a lot of people here might love. Their next box is sold out but it is definitely worth reviewing!

Ko Skin Box! Would love to see a review on their boxes!

LOT had me so intrigued (freaked) I immediately googled and a GQ article explains it in depth. Fascinating but not anything I see personally subbing. To each their own but I’m just not cool enough lol

Shelby

I voted for the Jerkist, but only if Marnie reviews it.

Reply ButtonReply

Anna

Ekka Recovery sounds interesting if a bit pricey.

Marina

Lot just looks mega creepy… all black, weird stances, tattoo machine, and the ID tag… I mean really why?
I have to ask, how did you find this one?!? Strangely…I want to see the review of the bigger package just to see what strange stuff comes. Mostly though I want to know what the target audience is, and what people who like it think.
Disposable clothes though…I have enough trouble building my wardrobe w/ out that lol!

Alex

It’s like an apocalyptic survivalist theme…I think. I’m also intrigued

Michelle

None of those seem interesting at all.

I have to admit–I just want to see what a LOT box ends up looking like all the way and if the creepy factor increases LOL.

I like the idea of the Innocent Kit. I’d love to see what kind of things they send.

Anna

I’d love to see a review of Bath Bevy, please!

Did anyone watch the Lot video?! Wtf
“Most beautiful death, ever.” -actual quote at the end of their video ad.

And the thing at the bottom of the page…mondo creepy!

Most of these don’t seem remotely interesting. The Ekka recovery kit seems interesting, but the others…..meh.
