Inside you'll first find the info card that has a short bio about each purveyor included in this month's box. The second little card is a friendly reminder that everything inside each Batch box are locally made goods. This is my second Batch box that I have received and I am always so delighted by the whole experience from the packaging through to the products.
Benjamin Soap Co. Lip Balm Strawberry, 0.15 oz. - Value $4.00
This lip balm is hand poured in Austin and made with olive and coconut oil, beeswax, shea butter, vitamin E, and other natural ingredients. I love that this is made with natural ingredients, and I found it to be super hydrating that lasted for hours! The strawberry flavor was sweet but nothing artificial like other scented lip balms I have tried. It didn't provide any tint, which I love because I can use it as a primer before applying lipstick.
Designworks Ink Notebook - Value $16.00
Photos do not do this notebook justice! It is very large with a beautiful cloth cover and handsewn binding. There are 200 total pages that are lined with day/month headers. The cover of the book also features a cute 'Every day I'm hustlin' quote! The notebook itself is very tall which allows for plenty of writing space. I love everything about this pretty in pink notebook!
The Seaweed Bath Co. Awaken Firming Detox Cream - Value $14.99
The firming detox cream is meant to provide a deep moisture while detoxifying for smoother, firmer skin. Count me in! While I haven't been using this cream long enough to say if it smooths and firms, I can say that it is a great moisturizer for extra dry skin like I have! The cream is thicker than your typical moisturizer so a little bit goes a long way. The awaken blend is made with rosemary and mint essential oils which leave your skin with an almost tingly feeling as it moisturizes and tightens. I have been using this right when I get out of the shower and am hoping for some great results over time!
The Shortbread Shop - Rose Tea - Value $3.75
I have tried the lemon drop cookies before from The Shortbread Shop so I was very excited to see this cookie tin again! The rose tea cookies are almost too pretty to eat, something I would love to have at a brunch or a bridal/baby shower. Luckily, these cookies are buttery and delicious so I quickly gobbled these up! Unlike the other cookies I have tried, these have a little glaze on the top that is creamy and sweet. The shortbread cookie itself is so fluffy and buttery, it just melts in your mouth. I love these cookies so much I'm going to start ordering them in bulk!
SYPCOFFEE, includes 1 pound fresh roast + sugar - Value $35
SYPCOFFEE provides an experience much more than just purchasing a bag of beans. The packaging is gorgeous along with the handwritten description for the type of coffee featured this month on their custom stationery. I received a one-pound bag of freshly roasted coffee from Costa Rica. The handwritten note includes details about the beans you received including the farm it came from, altitude, the producer, their process, and a few extra notes about the coffee. I also received a reusable corked tube of ground sugar. I used the sugar in my coffee, but I could see it also being delicious on oatmeal or in cookies! From the moment you open the bag of coffee you can tell that this was grown with love. My blend had a rich aroma to it with hints of a fruity sweetness. SYPCOFFEE is an experience in and of itself and would make an incredible gift for the coffee lover in your life.
Thistle Farms Cooling Shave Gel - Value $10.00
Thistle Farm products are handmade by the female survivors of the Magdalene House, a residential recovery program for women who survived life on the streets. Their products are all natural that is good for your body and the earth! This is a non-foaming shave gel that has an awakening scent, perfect for your morning routine! The gel itself goes on easily and provides you with an extra hydrating feeling after shaving, without any stubble! I am not a huge fan of shave gels, but I absolutely loved this and will continue using!
Verdict: There is something very special about Batch. Each product is so thoughtful and beautiful which leaves you feeling that it was curated specifically for you! I also enjoy reading about each company featured and love continuing to support these locally made brands. I calculated the total product value to $83.74, a $15.26 difference from the $99 cost of the box. While I really love the items I received this month, I hoped to see a few more items to get the total product value closer to the overall cost of each box. However, you can always see the attention to detail and curation that goes into each Batch box which to me more than makes up for the difference in the value.
What do you think of the Women's Deluxe Batch Discovery box this month? Which was your favorite locally sourced item?
