Now, on to the items!

Nia 24 Sun Damage Repair for Decolletage and Hands – FULL SIZE! Value $60

(Good to know for swaps - this item has an inner foil seal.)

What a perfect skin care item to send at the end of summer! This is a body repair cream specifically designed to reverse the appearance of sun damage/age spots/discoloration on your hands, neck, chest, shoulders, etc.

And the absorbs quickly and dries to a matte finish, so it's easy to add this to your beauty routine, too!

Bioderma Sensibio H2O (3.34 fl oz.) – Value $6.90

(Good to know for swaps - this item has a breakaway plastic seal.)

I'm all in on Micellar Water now thanks to sampling it through subscription boxes. This formula is hydrating, gentle, and did a great job of removing my makeup. (I use this on cotton pads for full makeup removal, or q-tips for stray eyeliner, etc.)

Dermalogica PreCleanse Balm (.5 oz) + Cleanser Mitt – Value $15

(Good to know for swaps - this item has an inner foil seal.)

This is a brand new release from Dermalogica! The formula is a balm-to-oil cleanser. You dispense a small amount of the balm directly to the mitt, then start massaging it onto dry skin. Then add water to emulsify and remove.

(I would recommend first applying the balm to your face with your fingertips, spreading it out, then going in with the mitt to massage it in. I tried the mitt-first approach, and lost a significant amount of the balm to the mitt!)

I really like the formula. It's gentle on my skin, and following this with my regular cleanser left my skin feeling super clean and soft. (Seriously, SO soft!) Time to embrace the double-cleanse movement! (Hm... interesting how beauty trends always end up in adding new products/steps to a routine! 😉 )

Here's a better look at the mitt. It's a soft silicone material, so it bends easily.

And the back part makes it easy to hold!

Hum Nutrition Packets - Value $10

I've sampled Hum Nutrition powders before, and I really like the formulas. They are free from gluten, yeast, wheat, milk, corn, shellfish, salt, starch, and artificial colors or flavors.

This set includes 3 different flavors:

Hum Raw Beauty Green Superfood Powder in Tahitian Vanilla & Berry Infusion

This green superfood powder is designed to “help boost energy and metabolism while creating radiant skin.” It also includes probiotics and is free of gluten, soy, GMOs, artificial colors/flavors, etc.

Hum Raw Beauty Green Superfood Powder in Mint Chocolate Chip Infusion

I've sampled both the mint chocolate chip and the berry before, and both are good. The mint is my favorite, though. Until...now:

Hum Raw Beauty Green Superfood Powder in Coconut & Pineapple Tropical Infusion

This is a brand new flavor from HUM! And it is basically like a healthy pina colada! I added this to my smoothie mix of protein powder + collagen powder + banana + ice + coconut milk and I loved it!

(You can also blend any of these powders with just water or milk.)

Bioderma Sebium Mat Control - 5 ml Value $3.30

Tip - shake this sample up as much as you can. I thought it was a super liquidy moisturizer when I first tried it, but it turns out it's a cream that separated a bit. The matte finish works well, and it left my skin primed and ready for makeup, too.

But, I didn't find it very hydrating. If you're looking for a moisturizer that also has mattifying properties, I wouldn't recommend it. If you want a primer with a matte finish, this is great. (And I wasn't crazy about the scent - it reminded me a bit of a cleaning product.)

Manna Kadar Flutter Mascara - 4 ml Value $11.60

(FYI - the info card calls this the "Flutter Mascara" but the sample says "HD Volumizing Mascara." I can't find HD Volumizing Mascara on the Manna Kadar site, so I'm assuming it is the same formula just rebranded.)

If you are new to the world of subscription boxes and you like this mascara, you are in luck! You should have a full cosmetic line from Manna Kadar in a few months! 🙂

Even though I have nothing against the Manna Kadar line, it really does feel overplayed in subscription boxes at this point. That issue aside, this mascara is pretty good. It gave me jet black lashes, and I was able to build length with multiple layers - and no clumping! It lacks a bit in volume though, so I'm grading it at a solid B.

Comptoir Sud Pacifique Vanille Blackberry - 1.5 ml Value $1.90

BeautyFix normally doesn't send out perfume samples, so I was a bit disappointed to see this as one of the 7 items this month.

The scent is spot on with the name - a lovely mix of vanilla and berry. It's a bit too sweet for my tastes, though.

Verdict: This box has a value of about $109. That's a great value for a $24.95 box. While I didn't love every item in this box, the Nia 24, Bioderma, and Dermalogica items are all fantastic and make this box well worth the cost for me. I really appreciate the timing of the Nia 24 Sun Damage repair inclusion (and again, FULL SIZE!) and getting a brand new Dermalogica release is amazing!

Am I the only one wishing for an October spoiler? Please BF just one hint

Me too!

Dermstore is being very quiet. I’m thinking more than one full size but will have to wait and see. Last month super early spoiler and this month mum last week in September. Full spoilers this week. I’m sure I will love!

This is always a great box. I love the tropical flavor HUM product. It really gave me an energy boost in the morning. I will definitely be buying more. The mattifying product was a little disappointing. The product was separated and watery even after trying to shake it.

guess what (saddest ever) the tropical flavor HUM packet was seasonal!! It was my favorite too so I went to try and find more to purchase, ended up contacting their customer service b/c I couldn’t find it anywhere. Yep, no longer in stock, it was a seasonal item back in the spring. They said Dermstore was supposed to pull the tropical flavor before sending out the little box…

Btw, if anyone is interested in a good moisturizer with mattifying properties, try the First Aid Beauty Mattifying Gel. A very underrated product, IMO.

So disappointed in this box. It used to be my favorite, but the last few have been lame (with the exception of a few products). I kept hoping they would get better…this by far is the worse box to date. Totally unsubscribing.

I just got my box and it’s great. Definitely worth every penny. I’m excited to try the Hum. Need that NIA cream and I love Detmalogica products!

Gifting the MK to a friend 🤣

I am getting pissed off about all the recent supplements. They are filler items whose claims have not been verified by the FDA, and more importantly, not what I signed up for. Thats 2 months in a row, so I quit. This box used to be my favorite.

I absolutely love everything in this box…except the supplements. With so many dietary concerns this is not a product to be included in a quality boxe such as Beauty Fix. Birchbox has distributed HUM products, but they have listed on their box description that those types of products may be included – but never repeatedly. I hope these statements are read and considered.

Interstitial Cystitis, so 80% of food and vitamins are a no go for me. That’s why I subscribe to beauty boxes. There’s a reason I don’t subscribe to boxes with anything edible.

Robin

I agree. I signed up for makeup, hair and skin care and supplements are none of these. If I wanted supplements I’d sign up for a supplement box!

I recently started trying HUM products. If you have an aversion to powder mixes and want to try before you buy, this is your chance. I have only tried mint chocolate chip. Also, If you subscribe to HUM, they sometimes have fun recipes to make healthy snacks with the powders. With a value of $10, that makes the rest of the box worth it.

I’m anxious to get this box to vary up my morning shake. (Mint chocolate chip) is sometimes too much sweet for 5 AM!

I received HUM samples through Birchbox and Sephora, and both of them sell the Mint Chocolate Chip product. I read that you are not to mix the powder with juices. What are some of the suggestions HUM gives as a liquid to use other than various forms of “milk?”

TK

I mix my mint chocolate chip with chocolate almond milk and it’s delicious!! I can’t wait to try the tropical flavor in vanilla almond milk.

Luna

I made the mistake of mixing mine with just cold water. Bad idea! And, it didn’t even dissolve like I thought it would in liquid. Blech!

Courie Girl

Mix with dates and seeds and almond butter to make quick protein balls. I also saw them make a frozen treat with the tropical flavor.

Toni

You pulled me back in beautyfix with the Nia24 full size the rest is just extras but I did use a coupon so I’m also getting a neck cream yay for MSA thanks for keeping us informed .I felt I deserved a treat since I cancelled beautybox 5 and play is definitely on the block this month

Did you get the September box? Because I ordered on September 4 with the code and got the August box.

I am excited to try everything this month. I unsubbed a couple of months ago, but had to have this one.

The brush on the flutter mascara is totally different. I hope I get that one–I’ve never used that style of brush and it looks cool

A bit disappointing this month – only 1 full size item. I’m hoping it will be better next month. The Nia24 saves this box. And I’m excited to try the Dermalogica precleanse gel, but the rest is too small to get excited about. Hopefully October will be better… sadly, this box has always been a favorite, but now we’ve had several months in a row that had too many sample sizes.

Mary

I agree. I used to love this box, but now so many samples. The Nia24 saves this box, but I’m wary about future boxes. I have to cut down to one box and now am so undecided.

Looking forward to this box. Nia will be great for me, I have tanned a lot in the past and only use sunblock now!

I’m excited about the NIA cream. I definitely need it for my hands as I age. Also intrigued by the Dermatologica. Not thrilled with the nutrition samples we’ve been getting in this box lately. Still my favorite sub box, even though this month is a bit light. I love perfume, but wish the samples were bigger.

Haha.. a full cosmetic line from Manna Kadar 😀
