Now, on to the items!
Nia 24 Sun Damage Repair for Decolletage and Hands – FULL SIZE! Value $60
(Good to know for swaps - this item has an inner foil seal.)
What a perfect skin care item to send at the end of summer! This is a body repair cream specifically designed to reverse the appearance of sun damage/age spots/discoloration on your hands, neck, chest, shoulders, etc.
And the absorbs quickly and dries to a matte finish, so it's easy to add this to your beauty routine, too!
Bioderma Sensibio H2O (3.34 fl oz.) – Value $6.90
(Good to know for swaps - this item has a breakaway plastic seal.)
I'm all in on Micellar Water now thanks to sampling it through subscription boxes. This formula is hydrating, gentle, and did a great job of removing my makeup. (I use this on cotton pads for full makeup removal, or q-tips for stray eyeliner, etc.)
Dermalogica PreCleanse Balm (.5 oz) + Cleanser Mitt – Value $15
(Good to know for swaps - this item has an inner foil seal.)
This is a brand new release from Dermalogica! The formula is a balm-to-oil cleanser. You dispense a small amount of the balm directly to the mitt, then start massaging it onto dry skin. Then add water to emulsify and remove.
(I would recommend first applying the balm to your face with your fingertips, spreading it out, then going in with the mitt to massage it in. I tried the mitt-first approach, and lost a significant amount of the balm to the mitt!)
I really like the formula. It's gentle on my skin, and following this with my regular cleanser left my skin feeling super clean and soft. (Seriously, SO soft!) Time to embrace the double-cleanse movement! (Hm... interesting how beauty trends always end up in adding new products/steps to a routine! 😉 )
Here's a better look at the mitt. It's a soft silicone material, so it bends easily.
And the back part makes it easy to hold!
Hum Nutrition Packets - Value $10
I've sampled Hum Nutrition powders before, and I really like the formulas. They are free from gluten, yeast, wheat, milk, corn, shellfish, salt, starch, and artificial colors or flavors.
This set includes 3 different flavors:
Hum Raw Beauty Green Superfood Powder in Tahitian Vanilla & Berry Infusion
This green superfood powder is designed to “help boost energy and metabolism while creating radiant skin.” It also includes probiotics and is free of gluten, soy, GMOs, artificial colors/flavors, etc.
Hum Raw Beauty Green Superfood Powder in Mint Chocolate Chip Infusion
I've sampled both the mint chocolate chip and the berry before, and both are good. The mint is my favorite, though. Until...now:
Hum Raw Beauty Green Superfood Powder in Coconut & Pineapple Tropical Infusion
This is a brand new flavor from HUM! And it is basically like a healthy pina colada! I added this to my smoothie mix of protein powder + collagen powder + banana + ice + coconut milk and I loved it!
(You can also blend any of these powders with just water or milk.)
Bioderma Sebium Mat Control - 5 ml Value $3.30
Tip - shake this sample up as much as you can. I thought it was a super liquidy moisturizer when I first tried it, but it turns out it's a cream that separated a bit. The matte finish works well, and it left my skin primed and ready for makeup, too.
But, I didn't find it very hydrating. If you're looking for a moisturizer that also has mattifying properties, I wouldn't recommend it. If you want a primer with a matte finish, this is great. (And I wasn't crazy about the scent - it reminded me a bit of a cleaning product.)
Manna Kadar Flutter Mascara - 4 ml Value $11.60
(FYI - the info card calls this the "Flutter Mascara" but the sample says "HD Volumizing Mascara." I can't find HD Volumizing Mascara on the Manna Kadar site, so I'm assuming it is the same formula just rebranded.)
If you are new to the world of subscription boxes and you like this mascara, you are in luck! You should have a full cosmetic line from Manna Kadar in a few months! 🙂
Even though I have nothing against the Manna Kadar line, it really does feel overplayed in subscription boxes at this point. That issue aside, this mascara is pretty good. It gave me jet black lashes, and I was able to build length with multiple layers - and no clumping! It lacks a bit in volume though, so I'm grading it at a solid B.
Comptoir Sud Pacifique Vanille Blackberry - 1.5 ml Value $1.90
BeautyFix normally doesn't send out perfume samples, so I was a bit disappointed to see this as one of the 7 items this month.
The scent is spot on with the name - a lovely mix of vanilla and berry. It's a bit too sweet for my tastes, though.
Verdict: This box has a value of about $109. That's a great value for a $24.95 box. While I didn't love every item in this box, the Nia 24, Bioderma, and Dermalogica items are all fantastic and make this box well worth the cost for me. I really appreciate the timing of the Nia 24 Sun Damage repair inclusion (and again, FULL SIZE!) and getting a brand new Dermalogica release is amazing!
