Monster & Son by David LaRochelle – Value $12.67 on Amazon (retail price $16.99)

The awesome illustrations are what this book a real stand-out. This is a story about a parent’s day with their child starting with waking up and ending with getting a hug and being tucked into bed. But what sets it apart from so many other good night stories is that each two-page spread features a different set of parent/son monsters, from skeletons, to dragons and ghosts. Joey Chou really killed it with these pictures. Both my kids loved this book and have asked for repeated readings.

Snatchabook by Helen Docherty - Value $12.01 on Amazon (retails price $16.99)

On a dark night in Burrow Down, a little bunny named Eliza Brown is trying to enjoy her nighttime read when something sneaks into her room and snatches it away. This is happening to all the animals that live in Burrow Down and Eliza is determined to solve the mystery. This story is told in rhyme and has a sweet happy ending. We love this book and I will have to purchase a copy for my school library as well. I know my students will love this one as much as my son and daughter.

Verdict: The value of Bookroo this month was over $24 (using Amazon prices) which is higher than the $22.99 cost of the box ($17.99 a month + $5 US shipping). We completely adored both selections this month! We love getting two hardcover, wrapped books each month from Bookroo and I definitely recommend this subscription for the little bookworm in your life.

Jessica's addiction started off slowly enough with Birchbox, but it has grown and grown over the last three years. An elementary school librarian and mom of two she loves boxes that are child-centric. But she'll never turn down a good fashion, beauty or tasty treat subscription.
