Elevita Artisan Subscription Box Review – September 2017

Elevita is a 100% volunteer organization dedicated to helping artisans in developing countries find a global marketplace for their goods. What a noble purpose!

This box was sent to us at no cost to review. (Check out our review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

The Subscription: Elevita

The Cost: $30 per month

The Products: Three to four handcrafted items (exclusives, not available in Elevita's regular online store)

Ships to: US for free, contact [email protected] for international inquiries

Once again, everything arrived in this lovely cotton drawstring bag! Such a nice bonus!

This is the letter I received in my package. It goes into great detail about the items in my package, and especially the artisans who created them. It really helps make these items feel so special.

Basket, Phillipines

I love this basket! It might be my favorite item in the box. It's really well made, and I am always in need of various containers around the house. This was made from vines in the Phillippines, and the craft is taught to the unemployed to help build sustainable skills.

Table Runner, Ghana - Value $26 (link to slightly different pattern)

This was my surprise item chosen just for me, so this item may not appear in all boxes this month. In any case, I love this table runner too! How beautiful! It is handmade and batik. It was made in Ghana through the Global Mamas organization, which promotes small women-owned businesses in Ghana. That's so cool!

Bracelet, Philippines

This bracelet is so neat! It's made of lava beads, so not only is it pretty, but you can also add essential oils to it and practice your aromatherapy throughout the day. Nice! It was handmade in the Philippines by a single mother artisan.

The Verdict: Elevita is awesome! I really appreciate everything they do to help global artisans, and I love feeling like I'm a part of that. This month's items were all wins for me! I actually can't decide if I love the basket or the table runner more. I don't have retail values for everything, but I think $30 for this box is a bargain. The table runner alone is worth $26!

What do you think of Elevita?

I love this box! Everything is always of very good quality, and their online shop is extremely reasonable, I have purchased other items there. And the most beautiful scarf i have ever gotten in a subscription box came in this one. Pictures don’t do it justice, it’s actually on clearance in their shop right now for $20. I really can’t tell you how beautiful it is, and it comes in a matching bag! Plus I believe Elevita is run by volunteers.
