An included info card details information regarding the Feeling Fab mission and as well as your specific box. The theme for August is “Summer Retreat.” I love Feeling Fab's suggestion to "set an intention to show up for yourself, every single day." I am certainly at a point where the reminder to slow down and make myself happy is appreciated, and it seems that the included products align with that message.
The back of this card lists all product names and values. I always love when subscription boxes include this information.
Organic Sun-Dried Cherries by ALL GOOD PROVISIONS, 2 oz. - Listed Value $4.00 (buy a 4 oz. bag for $7.99)
These tart treats are certified organic and really tasty. They're naturally sweet and have a satisfying, chewy texture. I ate them as a snack, straight out of the bag. However, Feeling Fab proposes that you try them on a salad of quinoa, fresh mint, sliced oranges, and an orange-based vinaigrette. Sounds delicious!
Refreshing Face Cleanser by YORBA ORGANICS, 3.5 oz - Value $13.25
A little goes a long way with this cleanser. It has a runny consistency (be careful when opening) that lathers a bit when mixed with water. The smell is pretty pungent and a bit off-putting, though I can't quite put my finger on what it is. It did a great job of removing my makeup, but I found it to be a bit more drying than my usual cleanser. Gotta love the all natural ingredients though! The kigelia extract in this cleanser is apparently effective in treating eczema prone skin.
Set of Two Temporary Tattoos by myTat - Value $4.99? (Listed Value is $7.00)
I know that temporary tattoos, especially metallic ones, are really trendy at the moment, but I'm just not a temporary tat kinda gal. They will forever remind me of my childhood, and they now also carry a 'festival season' association for me as well. Definitely reflective of the 'Summer Retreat' theme this month! I'm not sure if all August boxes included the same designs, but the ones I received are a very pretty henna mandala and pair of gold feathers that each measured at around 2.5" tall. They also look very realistic on the models on myTat.
Serenity Amongst Lavender Fields Aromatherapy Body Scrub by LILI AROMATHERAPY - Listed Value $8.00 (buy 20 g for $15.99)
This scrub has a wonderfully relaxing herbal scent. One of my favorite things to do lately in an attempt to de-stress is to take a long bath, and this scrub's lavender rosemary scent made my last soak extra tranquil. Its nourishing oils (cold pressed virgin coconut, sweet almond, sunflower, and vitamin E), along with mango butter, left my skin feeling smooth and hydrated.
Classic Peshtemal Yoga Towel by MAZI TRADING CO - Listed Value $25.00
This towel is so gorgeous that I first assumed that it was a blanket of some sort! It is hand-loomed from premium quality, ethically sourced Turkish cotton and has the softest diamond weave. Measuring at 37" x 70", it is generous in size and can be used as a yoga towel or strap, kid's towel, or hair wrap. I plan to use mine with my newborn since its finish is particularly plush and gentle. Bonus: Mazi Trading included a 20% off discount code card. The company also plants a tree for every product sold, so you may want to stock up on a couple more of these beautiful towels. Read more about the organizations that they partner with on their website.
Verdict: I thoroughly enjoyed my first ever Feeling Fab box. Though the towel was a for-sure stand-out this month, the body scrub came in at a close second. I thought that Feeling Fab did a good job of curating a full 'summer of wellness' experience in their product choices, and the monthly theme was apparent.
The value of August's box comes in at $55.24. Pretty great considering the $33.74 total cost. Overall, Feeling Fab is a great way to explore natural self-care items enabling you to take a step back and focus on mindful living.
