GlossyBox is a monthly beauty subscription box. They have the best packaging in the business, their products are usually deluxe size or full size, and the value is usually good too.

My Subscription Addiction paid for this box. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

FYI: GlossyBox sends out multiple variations of the box during some months. So, there may be some variation between what I review and what you receive.

FLASH SALE Now through September 30th, use coupon code FALL15 to get your first GlossyBox for only $15! (Regularly $21) And you’ll get your next two boxes for $15 each, too!

Ships to: US and Canada

Each box comes with a fold out card detailing the items included:

Now, on to the items!

Morgan Taylor Nail Polish in Magician's Assistant - FULL SIZE! Value $9

(Subscribers who get this nail polish will receive this shade or Pretty Wild.)

I am obsessed with this nail polish! It dried quickly, and I've been wearing it for days with no chips! Plus the lavender-greige color is perfection. Here it is on:

(2 coats for full coverage.)

Lancôme Paris Advanced Génifique Sensitive Antioxidant Serum - 4 ml? Value $15.60

(FYI - no size listed on this sample, but it's a larger size than I would have expected for a foil packet. I'm estimating 4 ml.)

(Based on spoiler marketing, all subscribers should be receiving both Lancome items pictured.)

To use this serum, you squeeze down on the blue liquid portion so that it mixes with the main serum:

This is a "dual antioxidant serum boosted with pure Ferulic Acid and pure Vitamin E." It mixes with a soothing base of Centella Asiatica to calm skin and protect against environmental aggressors like pollution.

I found the formula to be a little tacky when first applied, but it eventually fully absorbed. I can't really say if I notice any differences in my skin feeling soothed, but this sample should last me a few weeks, so we'll see if I notice any differences before it is gone!

(I have a good track record with Lancome skincare, so I'm optimistic!)

Lancôme Paris Visionnaire Advanced Multi-Correcting Cream SPF 20 - .17 oz Value $8.70

This day cream is designed to improve the appearance of wrinkles and skin texture, and it has SPF 20, too. It's very hydrating, but absorbed quickly and left a matte finish - fantastic!

Manna Kadar GLO Illuminator – FULL SIZE! Value $29

I officially have a lifetime supply of Manna Kadar GLO! (I feel like it's been in every subscription box this month.)

This liquid highlighter goes on shimmery pink, but it blends out into a barely-there glow. (It also works well mixed with body lotion for a little extra shimmer all over.)

While I feel Manna Kadar is overexposed in subscription boxes, I’m a fan of this formula. Here it is swatched:

Freeman Beauty Infusion Cleansing Clay Mask - FULL SIZE! Value $8

This is a clay mask designed to help clear your pores. (I'm always down for that.) It took about 10 minutes to dry, and when I washed it off, I could definitely tell my skin felt cleaner and smoother. Pores looked about the same, though!

Pureology Clean Volume Shampoo - 1.7 oz Value $5.60

Pureology Clean Volume Conditioner - 1.7 0z Value $6

Props to GlossyBox for sending a matching set! This line is color-safe and vegan, and designed for fine hair. My hair is medium, but I still liked the set. I didn't notice any big difference in volume, though.

Verdict: This box has a value of about $81.90. That's good for a $21 beauty box. My favorite items this month are the nail polish and the two Lancome items. (I'm over getting Manna Kadar GLO in boxes at this point.) But, it's a good variety of products, and pretty good sample sizes, too.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Yes. If you sign up in September, your first box will be the September box.

Coupon – Now through September 30th, use coupon code FALL15 to get your first GlossyBox for only $15. (Regularly $21) And you’ll get your next two boxes for $15 each, too!

Value Breakdown: At $21 for this box, here’s what you are paying approximately per item:

  • Nail Polish: $2.31
  • Lancome Serum: $4
  • Lancome Day Cream: $2.23
  • Clay Mask: $2.05
  • Manna Kadar GLO: $7.44
  • Shampoo + Conditioner: $2.97

I finally got my glossydot box and it’s the same as the review.

That nail polish I’ve never heard of…I washed my car 2 days after I put it on and it didn’t budge! Still looks new. I’m impressed especially after trying the julep polish they sent that didn’t even last a day.

I signed up for $10/month for 3 months deal back in July and September was my last box and I just cancelled. I only received September box out of 3 because the customer service responded my VERY OLD email and updated my shipping address and missed my company name out of address and the shipment was rejected! I am still dealing with the customer service to see if I can get the 2 boxes or they issue me the refund. Auto message saying “we will respond in 10-14 days is unacceptable as business. It should be 24-48 hours. In the past I got a response within reasonable amount of time where I dealt with broken items or other issues. And then yesterday I emailed them about redeeming my Glossydots for October box and they responded today…. very frustrating.

As to September box, I received the nail polish in Pretty Wild and Vendome Paris eye shadow in caramel color. Both of them are discontinued colors… but good news is they are colors I like.

For Lancome Genifique Sensitive Serum, do any of you recommend mixing the two liquids in a small pot and keep them? Seems like you only need a little bit, so I was wondering how you can keep it air tight and use it for as long as I can.

I keep getting this error.
“FALL15″ coupon code is not valid.

Has anyone used their glossydots for a box? I’m still waiting for it to arrive, did you get it around the same time you usually do or was it way later? Please don’t be eye shadow.

I used dots for my August box and it took WAY longer than usual to get my box. And then I got a second August box out of nowhere . . .

Jadette

My September box was redeemed with glossydots. You need to contact them for redemption. I did this via email and it took 1 month for them to respond. Once they did though, the communication was great and they shipped the next box available (September) without any hiccups.
I had contacted them in mid-july when my account was active. I got a response in mid August when my account was not active, and I received my free box in mid September.

Julie

Thanks, I redeemed it through cs last month and they said I’ll get September but that there won’t be any tracking or email that it was sent. Sooo, I wasn’t sure when to expect it. I usually get it around the same time my boxycharm arrives and it came on Friday. Seems like forever when people keep posting what they got and I’m still waiting. Still waiting for ispy, play and lookfantastic too. Arg!

Helen

Wow! I must have gotten lucky! Used my glossydots for august and September with no problem right off the website.

vanessa

I would be upset too if I hadnt received the clay mask last month. I like it, I use it twice a week.

The shadow from Vendome is BIG & the colour is a beautiful smoky brown (Bon Bon) but it’s one of those magnetic thingies & I gave MUA Cousin my Z Palette because 1) I didn’t want to be bothered with that risk of falling out/being messy, & 2) all the other samples I had collected sucked.

I got Pretty Wild from Morgan Taylor, which is like a purplish griege. I’m not wild about it as a whole 10 finger hand polish, but could see it as an accent colour for Fall.

Really, REALLY wish beauty subs would steer clear of polishes though (unless that’s your whole sub, or can be opted out of.) Since I’m too inept to handle my own mani/pedis, I let a pro take care of them – so I stopped buying bottles years ago. As it is, I still have too many to last my remaining lifetime! With the exception of a horrendously bright coral/fluorescent orange polish I got from Allure, at least the colours from subs this year were suitable for my skintone & ones I like.

From Pureology, I wound up with Hydrate Sheer which looks like it would be a good fit for my fine curly hair. Best part it’s cone free 😁

All in all, it wasn’t a life changing box, but overall I like the products & will use them. Not a bad way to lose $10!

I got this exact same box and I am pretty happy with it. I’m going on a Glossybox break because I have way too much of every kind of product they send, but this seems like a decent note to go out on. I don’t have the same animosity toward all things Manna Kadar that many seem to have, and I’m happy to try the Lancôme and the clay mask.

Reply ButtonReply

April

I agree, this box was pretty darn good! I got an eyeshadow pan (which was a perfect color for me, and full size!) instead of the mask, so that made this box a smash hit. And I really did love the Manna Kadar GLO, so I was thrilled that it was in lauded in this box. I’m done for awhile, but not because I’m disappointed with anything!

Reply ButtonReply

Annabella

Instead of the full size clay mask I got a sample size eye shadow. That is not even trade!

I also cancelled due to horrible customer service and the fact that they contradicted themselves on 2 different occasions about their policy or rules on how they operate just to cover them and not have to make things right. Like one occasion they charged my PayPal for a sub. to had been cancelled for 11 months and mailed the box to a address that I don’t even live anymore and guess what?? Ask my fault so I don’t get a refund or a box sent to my actual address!! I’m just out! So finally getting a response after a 30+ day wait was pointless and absolutely false. SMH…

Got this box yesterday with the eye shadow. It was my last box of the 3 box deal.My disappointment has been about the poor customer service. They promise replacement of broken but they do not follow thru on it. Buyer beware-if you like to gamble, this is the sub for you.I would have signed up for 6 months more if cs was better. Glossybox needs to get their act together quickly.

I agree. Terrible customer service. Last month mu box was so gross. The lemon rinse got all over everything and the black dye from the packaging got everywhere…but they don’t care. Took a month to respond and only agreed to replace 1 item. Birchbox will give you a whole new box.

Amy

I giggled glossybox complainants and there are so many websites with poor reviews, I added mine to each one. I’m not even sure how this months box equals 21 bucks. You can get Lancôme samples free. The polish is a discontinued color that retails on sale for about three bucks, the literal refill of shadow can’t be more the ten and the shampoo and conditioner is what, five bucks? What a joke

Juliya

I hate to say it, but none of these products are exciting… I used to subscribe to this box like 7 years ago and cancelled after 2-3 months, because of the same reason. And by the looks of it, this sub haven’t improved at all 🙁 same boring items.

Reply ButtonReply

Michelle

7 years?! Didn’t know they’ve been around that long!

Reply ButtonReply

Regina

Glossy box customer service is my worst disappointment ever! I really enjoyed their boxes, I would love this one, but horrendous customer service is my pet peeve. 😞

Reply ButtonReply

Ashley

Liz, I’ve been loving the box breakdown cost you have been doing recently. I think it’s an awesome idea! Hope everyone on MSA starts doing it for their reviews also! Love it!!

Reply ButtonReply

Liz Cadman

Thanks for letting me know! We’re planning to roll it out more over the next few weeks. Glad it is helpful! 🙂

Reply ButtonReply

TabbyO

This will be my last GB after 3+ years. It’s just not getting any better and the boxes don’t really excite me anymore. It’s a real bummer!!

Reply ButtonReply

Granny

The nail color, mask and glo are full sized and value is $80. I got two of these boxes. One for $10 on a 3 month special and second on a twelve month sub for $13.50. I’m happy with the $80 box.

Reply ButtonReply

Constance

So glad I cancelled, nope, not excited at all

Reply ButtonReply

C.J.

Ditto! I cancelled because of their horrible customer. None the boxes that they have shipped since have given me the feeling of FOMO.

Reply ButtonReply

Helen D'Esposito

One question, how are they getting away with saying there will be 5 full size products than changing it to only 3???? That’s called bait and switch and is completely illegal.

Reply ButtonReply

Julie

Welcome to glossybox, they do that often.

Reply ButtonReply

Kara

On the website it says that they will send at least 3 full-size products in the September box.

Reply ButtonReply

Kar

Curious: Did any current subscribers get email or any notification from Glossybox that they were changing this? I can’t find where it used to say 5 full-size products on their website anymore (II only see what I posted above), but I know it was there at one point. Very, very shady.

Lori

I’m interested in this sub box after reading this review mainly for the shampoo and conditioner.. I have really thin hair and need something that won’t weigh it down & see it some volume. I think I’m done with Birchbox, it’s been 4 months and I’m fed up with getting teeny samples that aren’t really even catered to my profile.. I know it’s just $10 but for me personally I’m getting a lot more out of Ipsy for the same price so I think it’s time to drop them…. 😟

Reply ButtonReply

Cris

I have the same shampoo and conditioner up for swap if you’re interested.

Reply ButtonReply

Nicole

I received this same box except that instead of the clay mask I received an eyeshadow color from ‘Vendome Paris beaute’ Would have much rather received the mask!

Reply ButtonReply

Lilah

Ditto!

Reply ButtonReply

Denise S.

Mine too. Sucky box for sure! I’m switching to Beautyfix.

Lola

As a long time user of Lancome, here is a quick note about the Genefique. Use a small drop or two. No need for more. It should spread like water on your skin. Putting too much of the serum on can create the tackiness that Liz was talking about. This sample should last a couple weeks or more with only using a drop or two.

Reply ButtonReply

Wendy

Yes! I had one of the .27 (?) gift with purchase bottles of the regular advanced genefique and it lasted over a month. It works really well so hopefully this sensitive version does too.

Reply ButtonReply

Liz Cadman

Thanks for the tip! I’ll use it sparingly! 🙂

Reply ButtonReply

Kara

I used to love this box. I cancelled a few months ago, and while I don’t regret cancelling – the boxes have become very inconsistent – I would have been happy with this one. The nail polish is gorgeous, and it’s nice that they sent both shampoo and conditioner. While I wouldn’t necessarily use anything else, they are very giftable products.

Reply ButtonReply

julie

I hope I get that color nail polish, so pretty.
I use skinceuticals ferluric acid and it’s $160 for an oz so I’m hoping this works as well so I can save money to buy more boxes.
Ugh, I have a problem. I didn’t like my sephora play box so I went out today and bought the skin wonderland box to console myself.

Reply ButtonReply

vanessa

Don’t feel too badly, Julie. After recently cancelling several subs, & feeling a lack of box excitement in my life, I went to Sephora & spent $168 in 45 minutes.

But hey, now I’m only $17 from VIB status! 🙃

Reply ButtonReply

julie

Lol, I’m $23 away from VIB status. I’ll keep play for another month just to get there.

trace

The only thing I like is the clay mask. I got it in another box and it works great on my skin. Glad this is my last box.

Reply ButtonReply

Dena

This is the box I got, including the nail polish color. I love it!!! The clay mask, nail polish and Glow are my favs. The rest is a bonus. 😉

Reply ButtonReply

Jay

The most impressive thing here is that 4ml of serum will last you a “few weeks!” 😮

There’s a good amount and mix of stuff this month, but nothing that really excites me – no FOMO here. Now, if only the CEW box I ordered 26 days ago would ship…

Reply ButtonReply

Sara

I have never been able to figure out how to make one or two drops cover my entire face! Maybe I need to increase the size of my drops!😉
